I worked with them to get several dozen succulents for a baby shower and it was really easy to plan ahead of time. They've always been friendly. They have a good variety of succulents. I'd say not as much of a variety of indoor plants but what they do have is well priced.

As I live in Northern California (Crockett), I tried Armstrong here hoping to score a plant. Talked w a guy who said that he was sold out of the particular plant, and I was sort of bummed, but accepted the fact that after trying another vendor, no luck would be on my side. After noodling around the store for other cool stuff, I get this "Hey!" and low and behold he found 2 Cousin It plants for me! I was surprised and happy he found them! He went out of his way to look for this particular plant and let me know that they had them! I went home happy and just stoked that this kind of customer service STILL existed in this world! Bringing home this plant back to Northern California was truly something as I had someone who cared enough to make my inquiry happen!!!

There are about 17 greenhouses to walk through and one of them has a rare plant section that you have to request to see. The items in there are super rare and of course or more expensive. The employees there are super helpful and answered all my questions. They offer easy payment through Zelle. Plan to spend at least an hour walking around. They mostly have cactus and succulents and many outdoor shrubs and ground covers.

This nursery is located off the 91 freeway and Lakewood. It's underneath some power towers. There's a few parking spaces inside and some street parking. There's a few very cool wall murals. Everything seems neatly organized. There's a small variety of pots, a shed full of bags of small decorative rocks, a price list, and then the succulents are nicely arranged and categorized. There's a table full of collectors succulents and cacti, cacti, succulents starting with small 2 inch pots, and it works it's way up to 8 inch pots. There's a lovely variety of succulent plants and their prices are clearly listed. If any succulent has a different price, it's shown so there's no surprises. The plants look super healthy and well taken care of. The staff there are very friendly! Great nursery to shop at.

Going on their website is helpful because you can see what is in stock, but I had no idea how vast this place was. I'd only been looking at CA native plants, so from my parking spot to the pick-up desk I maybe only covered 1/15th of the area, if that. I've been looking for a local nursery with a wide selection of California natives, & have been lurking Ricardo's Nursery's online selection for a month. Finally purchased a 1-gallon Cleveland sage (Salvia clevelandii 'Winnifred Gilman') for $12 & a 1-gallon Yankee Point Carmel Creeper (Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis 'Yankee Point') for $10. They had different variations of each plant reserved for me for me to choose from which was so endearing because I am secretly picky. Spoke with Jose who was super cool. There's also a very chill dog :) I was surprised by how vast the selection was in-person. The white sage (salvia apiana) in stock is just gorgeous. There are soooo many others I want to purchase, so thank goodness for my wallet that my project is fairly limited. (For now!) I would've wandered around photographing every single plant if it wasn't a million degrees outside & I didn't have to be somewhere. In just the 3 minutes it took me to walk to the pick-up stand, many plants caught my eye & I was reading the labels to figure out who they were. Really loved this one plant I saw--Silver Falls dichondra (Dichondra argentea 'Silver Falls'). 5/7/26 Mango tree!!! My dream tree to plant…read more Oh my golly! This nursery is super awesome! The plants, trees are healthy, a huge amount of selection, different sizes (gallon pots). I only went in for a little bit(less than 8 minutes coz Hubby is hurrying me up. The staff are so friendly & helpful I saw sapodilla, mangoes, jujube, guavas, papayas, tamarind, and of course , mangoes right at the entrance. The prices are $$$ but what did you expect? It's not easy or quick to grow these amazing plants, trees-- otherwise we would all be doing it. I would love to visit when Hubby isn't hurrying me up

I would strongly caution anyone considering Lakewood Nursery…read more About a year ago, I purchased a large podocarpus tree from them for several hundred dollars and paid an additional couple hundred dollars for installation in the planter in front of my house. Not long after planting, the tree didn't seem to be developing properly, so I stopped by looking for advice. The experience was disappointing. The employee helping me appeared visibly intoxicated in the middle of the day (someone I believe is connected to ownership, as I had met him during the purchase). He was unhelpful and dismissive, so I left without any real guidance. I continued trying to care for the tree, but within two months it died. When I returned to ask whether there was any warranty, replacement option, or even assistance toward purchasing a new tree, I was met by a rude employee who immediately became defensive, repeatedly emphasizing that they are a "family-owned business" while offering zero accountability or solutions. Instead, I was blamed for the tree dying, despite the fact that I had already come in previously asking for help. For a business that sells and installs expensive trees, I expected at least some level of customer service, support, or professionalism. Instead, I got poor advice, no accountability, and an overall hostile experience. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and would recommend others do the same. Update: After digging up the dead tree, it was obvious why it failed. The root ball was extremely tight and root-bound, likely from sitting too long in the nursery box. It only had two mature roots supporting it, and both had been cut during removal and installation. They also didn't use fresh soil when planting it, which gave it little chance to establish. I went to another family-owned nursery afterward, and the difference was clear--they stood behind their product and offered a one-year warranty.

It's a wholesale business so the lady who helped us Yesenia at first tried to let us know that. But the magic words were we were sent here by David from Cerritos. We found many lovely plants and grasses plus kangaroo paw plants. Bring cash and cover your car trunk or passenger sides with towels or plastic.
