I was looking for a cobbler to fix my black leather shoes that I've had for years. I was on the brink of throwing them away because the paint on the heels was coming off and the front of the shoes had many scrapes- given all the wear and tear over the years. I managed to find this place really close by to where I live, so I decided to give them a try. It seemed like a family owned business and they've been at this for a long time. They specialize in repairing leather bags and shoes. When I was in there, some guy walked in and just wanted a few more holes added onto his leather belt. That service was provided to him right then and there- no charge. I was only charged $50 for my request and I must say, I was impressed when I picked up my order. My lil' boots came back to life. My wife needed a LV purse zipper fixed and some UGGS re-colored. Came to Master Shoe Repair and the work was professionally done. They went above and beyond on the LV purse, even fixing the straps for free. The UGG boots re-coloring turned out great as well. My experience was shocking since I saw all these good reviews, many talking about service and friendliness. I personally got none from "Master Shoe Repair"... none, but I'm glad others had positive experiences. I got refunded the $150 for the repair but feel like the damages may exceed that amount. SPOILER: The owner was unpleasant, no apologies and in the end, he purposely slams MY $1200-retailing designer sneakers on the counter. I'm not rich, I just save and collect because it's a hobby of mine - so this is what really drove me to write this review because he treated my treasure like trash AND scratched the crap out of them like he had a vendetta against me (will include pictures). To be fair, the owner(?) quickly gave us a refund... but it was rather given in a "shut up and leave" kind of way (to put it nicely). On June 10th 2024, I took in my designer sneakers to have its sole reattached. The shoe itself was brand new and the leather was in great shape (this is important for later), besides the issue of the sole and stitching splitting. The man at the back (which I'm assuming is the owner) told me that I should get them resoled since he claims to see signs of brittleness from age. I didn't see why my original request couldn't be fulfilled, but I decided to go with the resole in hopes that they'll be more durable afterwards. During the initial transaction, I was trying to work with him and make suggestions for the best result possible. He was condescending and interrupted me right before I wanted to show him videos of proper Rick Owens resoles on youtube for reference, telling me he knows how the shoe is made when I was solely (no pun intended) trying to work with him for a better result. I let it pass and paid the $150, thinking he was just a reserved person and not rude. He told me it could be a week before my shoes were finished. We called roughly a week later and they told us it will be finished by the following Tuesday. Today is Tuesday and we came in. I opened the door with familiar lack of greeting as the first time and I dropped my ticket. The rude cobbler grabbed one unfinished shoe, it had the new leather trim (IMO sloppily made) and a foam midsole, about 70% complete. I was timid, wanted to be polite and I was trying to negotiate to make improvements but my partner just went blunt and asked the guy why my shoes weren't finished after 15 days, he wasn't rude - he just complained about the lack of honesty. We didn't argue with the owner, we did not insult nor attack or ask for a refund. After that moment, the owner snapped. He said nothing but pulled $150 from the cash register and slammed it onto the counter, then the removed original soles. For the icing on the cake, he got the second shoe from the back and SLAMMED them on the counter. The laces were also missing and those kinds of laces were custom to the brand and can't be replaced. He then mumbled under his breath until he told us that we were "talking crap". When I came home, I found obnoxious scratches. Very likely from removing the original sole. Keep in mind, the leather was originally in great condition before dropping them off. Poor business, poor craftsmanship and poor attitude. read more

Has always done great work in the past. First time back to him in many months. Shoes were not done on time, and he tried to blame my wife for misunderstanding, even though the date was clearly written on the ticket. When I finally did go to pick them up, he had not conditioned or polished one of the two pairs. When asked, he said he was told no shine. This is, of course, different from a condition and polish. I explained my disappointment and confusion given his excellent work in the past. He offered no excuse but again blamed my wife, telling me to talk to her. Maybe he was having a bad day. I don't know. Work has always been great before. He had done a great deal of good work in the past. This was an abismal experience. ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED! I took my sam browne to be shined Saturday morning and picked it up Monday morning to find out my belt was still wet! Not only did I over pay for this ($70) but when I put on my belt all the leather luster (shine) whipped off on my uniform! When I called to explain my situation to him he couldn't have cared less about what I was telling him. He told me I didn't give him sufficient amount of time? Well if that were the case why did he take my business in the first place as if I should have known how long leather luster would take to dry and after doing my own research it only takes 6 HOURS! Dropped off shoes for heel replacement on 10/4/16 and was given a ticket which indicated they would be ready on 10/12/16. The owner even verbally confirmed when the shoes would be ready. I went to the shop on 10/17/16 only to find he had not worked on the shoes. Needless to say I took my shoes and will not be returning. Can't say enough good things. This place was small and could maybe use a make over but the owner is extremely nice and does A+ work. I took him a brand new Louis Vuitton purse that I wanted to do some custom work to, and no problem. He was very knowledgable of the brand and the leather. I thought I would have to wait a couple of days but instead he ask me if I had a little time to wait for it to be complete. The big shocker......he only charged me $5. I almost hit the floor, most shops wouldn't even touch a LV for less than $50 because of the risk. He was more than reasonable. I dropped off 2 pairs of shoes and one solo shoe. The repairs took a week but the shoes came out fantastic. I have worn all the shoes that I had repaired and they are holding up great. What I was pleased to see was that he not only repaired the shoes but they were in great condition when I picked them up. Some places you go they come back fixed completely but they're dirty and there is extra glue in places that can be seen. That was not the case here. The shoes were fixed and clean. He really did a stand up job. A little pricey and the places is a little crazy. Organized chaos I guess. What ever the system is, it works for him. The place and price was well worth it. Don't let them touch your SHOES!!! I took a pair of boots there to have sole guards put on them and Raul the owner did them great I was happy so I told him that I had 2 pair of Jimmy Choo boots that I just bought that I wanted done also. So when I get my boots and see them f*** the soles of my $1000 shoes are ruined he cover the name Jimmy Choo London with the sole guard the sole had been gridded down. I told him that he ruined my shoes he covered the name and Raul tells me he had his assistant do the sole guards on them " Why would you have your assistant work on shoe that are $1000?" He told me to think postive..So, I took in the receipts for what I paid for them and he doesn't want to reimburse me so COURT HERE I COME..These shoes were brand new my first pair of Jimmy Choo I never even got to wear them and now there ruined :( read more

Very Disappointed!!!!!! Will NEVER return. He didn't even ask me if the work was satisfactory - didn't care. I brought in two pairs of boots. They looked better when I brought them in. He charged me $77.00 and he didn't even condition the leather on one pair of boots because he said they were Nubuk. When I dropped them off, he said he would condition the leather and he charged me accordingly. Didn't adjust price. My boots have fur at the top. The fur was shampooed on one boot but not the other - the fur looked totally and clearly different on the two boots and I had to bring to their attention. I only went here because of their reviews, but charged me a lot for a little work and made me leave to find an ATM machine to pay them cash -no credit/debit cards. Horrible experience.
