I decided it would complement my holiday spirit to shop with an eggnog daiquiri so I hauled our entire family over to Marrero, yo, where I could grab a drive thru daiquiri en route to this tree farm on the Best Bank. Mistake, brah. They advertise trees from $19 but there were exactly two raggedy ass ones that were $50 and everything else was $70+. Whatever, I'm sippin the Nog so we stay the course. We found a gorgeous tree for $70. I noticed that one spot looked a little brown but dude said it was dirt and to mist it with water, it was fine. That man is a liar. One day later in my house I have a totally dead Christmas tree-- we've had needles everywhere for the last week and a half. The tree is perfectly shaped and also perfectly dead. Why did I tip him $10? Next year I will make my own Nog and stay on the east bank.

We went to another tree lot and that place was absolutely out of our price range. Which was kind of surprising because the selection also wasn't as great. So we then made our way here to A's Toy Soldier Christmas Trees. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice fellow who introduced himself and asked if we needed help. We said we weren't sure what we were looking for but if we needed help we'd ask him. We looked around and the prices were clearly posted at the front. It seemed they had a color coded system which made it easier for us to pick a tree out. They only have frasier fir trees which was what we usually buy so that was a plus. They had lots of 6-7ft trees that were full and straight. I look for bare spots as that is something I try to avoid when buying. Hardly any of the trees we saw had bare spots. The amount of good looking trees we saw made it difficult to pick one because we saw many. However we finally settled on one. My husband called over the gentleman who originally greeted us and he took care of the rest. He trimmed the bottom, netted it, and placed it in our car. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Our tree is beautiful! Home Depot is likely to be a thing of the past and we come here from now on!

They usually sell three different kinds of trees and, believe it or not, it's an important choice! They look, feel and smell different and the best part is that you get to walk through the farm and pick your own tree. Sometimes it's difficult to choose because they are all so pretty and healthy! We live 1hr away from Tiger Branch but we always make it a funday... it is worth it!!
