We went to another tree lot and that place was absolutely out of our price range. Which was kind of surprising because the selection also wasn't as great. So we then made our way here to A's Toy Soldier Christmas Trees. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice fellow who introduced himself and asked if we needed help. We said we weren't sure what we were looking for but if we needed help we'd ask him. We looked around and the prices were clearly posted at the front. It seemed they had a color coded system which made it easier for us to pick a tree out. They only have frasier fir trees which was what we usually buy so that was a plus. They had lots of 6-7ft trees that were full and straight. I look for bare spots as that is something I try to avoid when buying. Hardly any of the trees we saw had bare spots. The amount of good looking trees we saw made it difficult to pick one because we saw many. However we finally settled on one. My husband called over the gentleman who originally greeted us and he took care of the rest. He trimmed the bottom, netted it, and placed it in our car. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Our tree is beautiful! Home Depot is likely to be a thing of the past and we come here from now on!

For almost two decades I have purchased river sand (as clean and white as sandbox sand!), river fill (One cut above or below river sand that has some soil in it), garden soil, and now almost exclusively the 50-50 mix (50% river sand with horse manure, fodder, and coffee grounds). They sell by the cubic yard, and 1/2 cubic yard, and give a very generous yard of soil. I haul the soil in my full sized pickup truck and transfer to my wheel barrow for distribution to raise, level, fill in low spots in my yard and for my gardens. They are local & family owned. Debbie is normally in the office and her husband normally works on the operations side of the business. Both are fine people.

I got to met Tabitha and her daughter today at St. Roch Market! They were both really lovely…read morepeople!  Tabitha is the owner of this business, and she is SO helpful and knowledgeable about all of her plants!  She gave me some great tips on how to care for them. She always gives people her business card to make it easier to contact her if you go home and find yourself with more questions! The business was transported to the market via bus.  This was a cute silver bus with the inside renovated to become a little showroom for plants! Absolutely adorable. There were numerous types of plants there of all different sizes, but I got a mint and pothos plant (complimentary with my Yelp Elite Perk).  I also purchased a bigger bromeliad plant as well with a beautiful orange bloom.  They all look super well-taken care of and healthy!  Cross my fingers, I'm hoping they stay that way once I get them home! I didn't see all of the prices on the plants, but from what I saw, they were reasonably priced.  A lot of them were under $10. I'd spend that much buying plants from a big box store, but getting it from Tabitha, the plants are probably in better shape for the same price. Plus, it's always nice to go local!

She had a nice selection available outside on the table, but then she surprised us when she took us onto the bus and we saw that she had even more plants available. She's very knowledgeable about her plants and she will help you find something that fits your skill level and your environment (I don't have a lot of natural light in my apartment or office). I ended up leaving with not only my elite event goodies, but also two peperomias. Excited to see the future of Root Life Plant Nursery and I will definitely be returning for more plants and reaching out to Tabitha with my plant questions.
