Let me start off by saying the doctor and other staff were very nice during my visit. After my initial visit, I scheduled a minor surgery to remove a cyst. I had something come up that morning and called the office to see if I could reschedule. No one answered the phone and I was transferred to a voicemail. I left a message and asked someone to call me back. No one ever called back. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I receive a $100 bill in the mail for a no-show. I called the office and asked about it and was told there is no way to waive the no-show fee of $100 even after explaining I had called in and no one returned my call. I will be starting the process over again with another dermatology clinic since the customer experience is severely lacking. After reading other reviews here, I wonder if the name change from Newnan Dermatology to Avail Dermatology and now Epiphany Dermatology is an attempt to disassociate themselves from past poor reviews. read more

If you want to get robbed then go here. These people charge insane prices. I had four moles sprayed- not removed with a can of freeze spray. 3 of which were nothing more than a red discolored mark on my leg. They charged me $656.00 plus $177.00 office visit! UNBELIEVABLE! When I called to complain they only offered to put me on a payment plan. NEVER AGAIN will I step foot in this ridiculous place. Plus I have excellent insurance and this was my portion. read more

This is not about Covid or virtual apts.I would give Dr Mark Holzberg a 5 star rating.He is a wonderful doctor.He is alsi meticulous and very observant.I ve seen others there but hands down he is my favorite.The staff or administrative side of the practice does a good job.Check in in is easy and the waiting room is spacious with refreshments.There is a PA there Steve Nobles.I have seen at another practice a while back.He is wonderful.Knowledgeable and easy to talk to.Finding a doctor that fits a person's needs is a personal undertaking.I hope this helps in your search. read more

If you want to be treated like a number and not a patient...then by all means, go. We were in the waiting room for 30 mins. We saw the dr. less than 5. He was not very helpful at all. Told me to add a bleach to my 18 month olds bath water for eczema. Gave us a new ointment to try. Got it filled and tried it on him and he immediately started screaming. Looked up EUCRISA (the ointment) to see that you CAN NOT use it on babies under 2!!! Called this morning to do a complaint in the office. No one has bothered to call me back yet. read more

Could not go with my child cause he is 18 and why not charge money from him instead of parents. i have taken appointment for my son for the ongoing issue that started before 17 and i have been involved and know more details and reposts and suddenly I can not go inside and share the knowledge I have on the issue. When it comes to going to the Dr., I'm a typical married guy with a few kids.... I just don't go! Every 3-4 years at best! But...when I realized I had a skin condition that could be minimized by seeing a dermatologist, I tried out a few local Dr.'s in Fayette/Coweta County. At best, I'll describe the experience as "underwhelming". I stumbled onto Newnan Dermatology after a friend recommended Dr. Buckthal to me. Completely different experience! Coffee and Tea in the waiting room. High tech. It reminded me more of a start-up tech company than a Dr. office! While I'm still not the best patient - I never use the cream, and sometimes take the antibiotics, I have become a fan and regular of this practice. Don't think about it - this is where you want to go for any dermatology issue! read more

I am so sad. Before Newnan dermatology became avail dermatogy it was a busy but professional office. I tried for a week to get through on the phone to maake an appointment. There was no one answering phones or for that matter returning calls. I tried to make an appt. online also- still no luck. Finally someone did call me back a week later. When I got to my appt. 15 minutes early, there, was no onne checking in patients. Finally the front desk lady called me up to sign in and shoved a paper and clipboard at me to fill out. I then got to witness her berating an elderly man who had confused his appt time. She was extremely rude and caused a scene. I continued to wait another 45 minutes before I was called back. This office has definitely gone downhill. Nobody knows what is going on and no one is keeping track of the patients. Total chaos. Oh, and there was only two others in the waiting room. Unless you have all day to waste, and feel like listening to the front office staff gossip loudly about patients, do NOT come here! read more

Michele Lore (Spelling???) is excellent!! She is the reason I switched to this practice! My daughter has had precancerous moles removed by another derm office and it was a horrible experience that made my daughter not want to go back. We switched earlier this year and I was amazed at her thoroughness and ability to explain things to my daughter and I. She checked all through her hair and explained how important it was that we go to an eye doctor too because she can't see any moles that may be forming in there! We've always been seen within 10-20 minutes of checking in and if they are running behind i would bet it was because she is listening to the concerns of another patient which is something I appreciate when it is my turn! read more

If you're black don't go here! I set an appointment with Avail to see if I could receive a prescription to help me get ride of my acne scars. When I saw the doctor (Sorry I can't remember her name, all I remember was that she was an older white woman, with a bob and glasses) She expressed to me that my acne scars were too old and because of the melanin in my skin there was nothing she could do for me. She did however bring up a skin bleaching agent. I found that offensive. Contrary to popular belief, black people actually enjoy being black. I also had to ask her three separate time if she was sure that there was nothing she could do for me. She finally wrote a prescription for me. When I received the prescription, I googled it to see if it would actually work for me. Turns out that it had nothing to do with getting rid of acne scars. I honestly feel that she just didn't know anything about black skin. I would have preferred it if she told me that, even though I find that hard to believe since it is 2019. I guess there are certain places that still only really cater to certain races. read more

I visited the Ptc location and Dr. Dyer significantly reduced my acne problems and explained my situation thoroughly. His nurses are very caring and helped me with my medication when i needed a cheaper alternative. Even when i had to relocate to another state they still refilled my prescription which bought me some time to see another dermatologist. I could feel their sincerity in treating their patients, especially Hanna Grace. I answered their personal information sheet and other papers online yet i had to repeatedly answer it in person (which was no big deal really). I'd also really appreciate a little more pleasant attitude from the front desk. The Newnan location though..... there was barely anyone at the reception area who would accommodate me and caused me to fall behind my appointment schedule. I settled for the ptc clinic instead and was much happier with their service. Just be warned, they could set you an appointment with a PA instead of a doc if you don't ask. read more

Terrible place. I was forced to pay a copay when I had already met my son's deductible many months prior to the appt. It's January now, they never refunded the copay. I had to call today to settle that. Ridiculous. The doctor that seen my son did testing but for the wrong thing. My son has Crohn's disease when biopsy was sent off she put he had Celiac disease. The test was very time sensitive. I had to repeat Crohn's disease several times during the appt and she still didn't get it right. After my son's GI doctor spoke with her on the phone he told me she was very incompetent. read more

I stopped using Avail Dermatology (formally Newnan Dermatology) solely because of their incompetent billing practices. I received a bill sent to my address but with another patients name on it. I called and told them of the error, but instead of finding the correct address for this patient, they put MY name on their bill and then sent it to a collection agency. The next correspondence I got was a letter from a lawyers office telling me I had a collection agency after me FOR SOMEONE ELSES BILL because these unethical and incompetent employees at Avail couldn't figure out how to send a bill to the correct patient. When talking to several coworkers, I heard the same story over and over again about how people had the same experience with Avail. read more

I scheduled a routine checkup with Avail and saw the PA. She was in the room with me for 5 minutes and simply asked me if there were any spots I thought were unusual (I went to a professional to have her tell me these things). I pointed her to one small mole that was a bit darker than my others and she said, "well, let's biopsy it." The results all came back normal, but that 5 minute appointment cost me over $400! I was shocked and called them to dispute. They said the bill was correct and there was nothing they could do. I felt very taken advantage of and will not be returning. Every time I call, the intro message always is all broken up. My mom had a prescription called in wrong (should have been an ointment instead of a cream and because it was not the ointment, it made her burn and itch something terrible and she could not sleep because of it). I requested 2 separate times to have access to the patient portal over Avail's website -- no response either time. I finally just gave up! read more

I really feel like I was deceived! Well, i know i was deceived!!!!!!! I called to make an appointment, and the girl at the desk told me specifically that my full body exam would be completely covered just like any other yearly exam I would get, such as an OB/GYN, mammogram, teeth cleaning. While I was there I had a small wart removed from the bottom of my foot at the NP's suggestion. Well, she did it (thinking this whole time I'm covered). The nurse practitioner asked me to come back in for a follow up the next month. Of course, I followed her instructions and went back for a follow up. Sometime that week or so I received a bill in the mail for $800. I tried calling to talk to them about the bill but no one called me back. I called twice, in fact, And left a message each time but never heard back. I went ahead and paid $100 on my Bill until I got word of what was going on. In the meantime I called my insurance company and they specifically tell me they do not cover it. Well the very next month I received another bill for over $1000 due to the fact that I came in for a follow up on that wart removal. Keep in mind, this is a procedure and an examination I really did not have to get done. It was only after I called back the third time and threaten to talk to a supervisor that I received a call from their billing department. A day later I get a call from the office supervisor and she told me there's nothing they can do about the bill. I found this atrocious! I will never go back to this facility. All the girl at the front desk had to do when I called to make the appointment is say she wasn't sure what my insurance would cover and that I should call them directly. I would never ever have had this done if I was having to pay over $1000. I felt like it was a way to get me in There and find things wrong so I could pay. This is absolutely ridiculous! This facility was refusing to work with me at all on the amount I owed...well besides if I wanted to do a full early payment of over $800, which I had to do. This place sucks!! I had the same issues as Kate G. did with the Accutane. They don't do there part when it comes the getting the Rx filled. Calling in the prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy, or just not entering their part in the system on time. Screwed me up so bad in October, that I didn't even get my prescription filled but yet, I'm stuck with a bill for over $100! Needless to say, they will NEVER see me again in their upscale facility! I won't even start on the half trained staff members that talk about one another to the patients and how they are only there because they need a job! Dr. Ling and his staff are so amazing! I had serious skin infections that requred many visits. It was so bad that Dr Ling wanted me to be hospitalized. I resisted when I found out that he wouldn't be treating me at the hospital.. Therefore, I had to visit his office everyday for 5 days and about twice a week for a month. I had insurance so all that I had to pay was my co-pay. I did not realize at the time how far ahead Dr. Ling was booked but even though he has wonderful PA's, Dr Ling saw me at every appointment and spent time with me explaining my diagnosis and his day by day plan for my treatment. I could not have had better treatment if I would have been a celebrity! Even though it has been over 10 years since this happened, i will never forget how gracious and caring he and his staff were. Horrible costumer service, long waiting times taking into consideration you have an appointment. The receptionists are rude over the phone. Wanted to schedule an appoint to see a dermatologist I used to see and the receptionist who answered my call was very unpleasant to speak to, extremely sarcastic and unwilling to answer basic questions which were crucial for my decision to schedule an appointment with them. I loved this place. from the check in to the check out. It was my first visit and they were very nice. I had to have some biopsy done to my nose and she did some cryotherapy as well. The dr and her assistant were very nice and educational. I went to my car and it started to bleed so I went back up and they took me straight back without hesitation and fixed it. I have been a patient here for years. Their maniacal focus on technology is a distraction but the care was pretty good. I recently went in for two very small skin areas that were a concern. Dr. Holzberg was in the room for no more than 12 minutes. He took one off with a blade and sent it for examination. He uses a can of freeze sitting on the counter and froze the other. Extremely satisfied with Newnan Dermatology and especially Dr. Patrawala. He took a lot of time with me during the examine. I had a weird large growth show up on my forehead and they got me in right away. He even got another Doctor to come in and give his opinion as to what it was. The did a culture and it turned out to be shingles. Dr. Patrawala called me that same evening to follow up and another time to be sure I take the medicine, and follow up with an eye Doctor. I have had previous full body checks at Newnan Dermatology where they found skin cancer and did surgery. Every experience was excellent. These people are the best!!! read more

My first visit to Avail Dermatology, 03/16/2018. I initiated the appt process through the website. This process worked very well. The check in process upon arrival for 1st time patients was very efficient, I was in the examination room within 20 minutes of arrival. Britney (sp?) was friendly and completed the new patient review professionally. I did not request a specific physician and was assigned Dr. Patrawala. From the moment he arrived in the examination room I was comfortable. He gave me his undivided attention, did the most thorough full body skin cancer scan I've ever experienced, encouraged questions, and described each blemish so that I understood if it required attention, why or why not. Britney made notes on all findings to establish a baseline for my yearly exam as Dr. Patrawala spoke to me. I am so pleased with Avail Dermatology and particularly with Dr. Patrawala. read more

Peachtree City Office: I've never been to a doctor's office with such a lack of respect for a patient's time. I had an 8:30 appt. and they were already over 45 minutes behind schedule (clearly overbooking). On two separate occasions, my husband and I have both walked out with our co-pay refunded (and they didn't seem to mind or make apologies)! Dr. Ling was highly recommended to me by a friend. It took me two months to get an appointment, and then I only got to see the P.A., who gave me a medication that only made my condition worse. Finally, after a few more weeks, was I able to see Dr. Ling. Over a year after I received treatment and paid my bill in full, I received a robo call from Newnan Dermatology, stating that my account was delinquent and I must immediately pay my bill or be turned over to a collection agency. The next day I received a revised bill for the service I had received (and paid in full) back in 2015. When I called to inquire, I was told they had disputed the "contractual amounts" with United Healthcare, and UHC had agreed to allow them to charge more for their services. So they were going back two years and billing patients for the difference! Newnan Dermatology told me the problem was United Healthcare; UHC told me the billing matter was between me and my doctor. I have never heard of a business retroactively raising their prices after a service has been received and paid for, but Dr. Ling's office keeps sending me "final payment" notices. read more

I went for an initial visit in Newnan today. I read some of the negative reviews on Yelp before going and was skeptical about getting good service. From the moment I arrived until the final interaction with the staff I have nothing but good things to say. The receptionist greeted me warmly and got me signed in. The 2nd staff member checked out my insurance info and was friendly. She even offered to share some bread a patient had brought in. Then I was called in to the exam room after waiting only a minute or two. My appointment was with a PA named Michelle. Her assistant was very kind and professional. She was working with a new staff member and explained there was "training in progress." The PA was very thorough and explained everything she did and told me exactly what my options were and what to expect as she treated a few skin issues I had. I didn't sense that there was any rush. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I have a follow-up in a month. Hopefully it will go as well as it did today. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up based on what I saw today. read more

My teenage daughter has been going here for 2 years for severe acne. They did everything before we had to think about Accutane. For the first one and half years our experience was just so so but we kept with it. Once she started Accutane- it all went downhill. Since Accutane is FDA regulated and time sensitive-timing and accuracy is very important. Right from the start they screwed up. She was supposed to start in August but due to a mess up on their part, she had to wait an additional month. Once things got going, depending on what nurse we had, they would never call in the prescription or call it to the wrong pharmacy and they would not always do their part of the IPledge system. I was constantly calling them to get them to fix their mistake. They would even get scheduling wrong....on accutane you have to be seen within so many days or you have to start all over. My daughter has been on it for 6 months with no improvement. I decided to take her to another dermatologist because we have had it. According to her she has been UNDERDOSED for the past 6 months. I will NEVER step foot back in that place. MONEY TIME and TEARS is what they have caused my family. And the wait times were terrible- overall just a very poor experience.
