I made a consultation appointment and received a few emails with a lot of good information regarding estate sales and how to be prepared for the consultation. Was told to start putting in piles things that we want to keep versus things that could be sold in an estate sale. The day of the consultation, Allison came and was very approachable and friendly. However, she told us that since we did not have over $10,000 worth of stuff to sell, that doing an estate sale would essentially not be worth their time. I was a bit annoyed that this information just wasn't shared upfront. I get some people have hidden treasures, but I could've told the initial contact person that I highly doubt we have $10,000 worth of things to sell. Allison gave us a piece of paper that spoke about what we can do now that an estate sale with them is not possible. Suggestions of using Facebook marketplace, donating items, and trashing companies that they have worked with in the past. Again, she was super sweet and knowledgeable regarding her craft. But I wish I knew all this before, even having a consultation, felt like a waste.

We've recently had to relocate my mom out to California so we can provide care for her. The hardest part about the move was getting my mom to downsize her things. We didn't expect the process to be so emotional for my mom but it was, and Team Louie had the empathy and understanding to truly help her let go of the things. Team Louie came highly recommended from our realtor as the best estate sale company for our needs that also included getting the house ready to list. I also had the opportunity to talk extensively with Donna the owner of Team Louie, and I knew she understood exactly what we were going through with my mother and her condition.  An estate sale was definitely the way to go for our situation since my mom will be downsizing to a much smaller place and my siblings and I do not feel any connection to the things in the home. My mom had an extensive antique collection as well that required a company with knowledge about how to appropriately price the items. Donna, Bob and the rest of the Team Louie staff were a joy to work with from start to finish. My mom made the decision to work with Team Louie because Bob had expertise in the antiques that my mom collected and they both used to go to the antique markets and even recognized one another! His expertise in collectibles meant everything to us. The other reason we chose Team Louie is they work with a non-profit Freedom Treasures that employs developmentally disabled individuals to run a retail store for the items that do not sell in the estate sale. My father would have appreciated empowering people with disabilities since he worked extensively in universal design and the da Vinci awards affiliated with the national multiple sclerosis society, which had as its heart a focus on empowering individuals with disabilities. The feedback I received from friends attending the sale was that everything was extremely well organized and that Team Louie had top-notch professionals running the sale. The other services they provided included throwing out the trash from the house in dumpsters and cleaning up the house from top to bottom both before and after the estate sale to get the house ready to list. They were very responsive before, during and after the sale, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. My sister and I live far away and having a trustworthy service provider to help us manage it all from afar has made the difficult process of downsizing so much easier. We are so grateful to Team Louie.

Once they clear the house after the sale they throw out what they don't want then put the valuable items in their private auction house, Block located in Ferndale. Prices are always going to be high they will never change. If it sells fine they made some money for the client. If it doesn't big deal then they make 100% profit in private auction. Aaron's is only still in business because they prey on people that don't know any better. Also the fact that the owner, Aaron going on podcast talking about Scientology puts it all in perspective. I tried to give them another chance this summer but they have become worse. Had to put Arron's to the blacklist along side Alter's Moving and Estate-sales.

Review from a Homeowner/Seller…read more We had an excellent experience working with Aaron's Estate Sales, and we are truly grateful we trusted our instincts and chose them. While we were aware of some controversy and mixed reviews going in (which naturally gave us pause as homeowners) meeting in person with the team and better understanding their model, quickly put us at ease. From start to finish, the process exceeded our expectations. Sara, the team leader on our sale, was absolutely outstanding. She was an exceptional communicator, incredibly patient, and very knowledgeable. The entire team working over the two-weekend sale were fabulously attentive and helpful. Sara's professionalism and calm guidance made what could have been a stressful situation feel organized, thoughtful, and even enjoyable. She clearly cared about both our goals as new homeowners and the overall experience for buyers. When we acquired the home, it was filled with remarkable antiques, and we had factored the potential revenue from an estate sale into our plans for an extensive (and costly) historic renovation. Timing was also critical--we needed everything cleared quickly, but we were committed to ensuring that nothing of value was unnecessarily discarded. Just as important, we wanted the sale to feel welcoming and positive for shoppers, neighbors, and anyone from our community stopping by to appreciate the home. Much of the criticism we've seen about Aaron's centers around pricing. From our perspective as sellers, the results speak for themselves: approximately 95% of the inventory sold, across more than 1,000 transactions. With that volume, it's unrealistic to expect perfect pricing on every item. Most pieces were priced at or slightly below retail, and as the sale progressed, prices were reduced as needed to ensure items moved. That's simply how a successful estate sale works: pricing adjusts based on demand. Items that buyers felt were worth a premium sold early, and others sold once discounted. In the end, nearly everything found a new home. Some vocal critics (but supporters of our home restoration project) reached out hoping we would not recommend Aaron's. While we understand their desire to purchase antiques at rock-bottom prices for resale, that approach would have significantly reduced the revenue we needed to reinvest in the home. Even so, we saw many items quickly reappear on Facebook Marketplace at higher prices...proof that great finds and profitable deals were still made. As sellers, we exceeded our goals, and as homeowners, we'll always look back on this experience fondly. Aaron's Estate Sales, and especially Sara, played a huge role in making that happen. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
