The staff here was very helpful in touring and showing my numerous rental options. They actually say down and helped me with the application which is all done on an app ( like most places do now a days). Usually other places don't care to help and just have you pay the hundreds in fees and wish you luck. They helped me figure out how to get the app to work and were quick to get me back results. The follow up afterwards was great. The amenities are wonderful, the staff is helpful, the apartments are nice, the neighbor seems safe, and it's in a nice location. read more

So we have been here just about a year and I am still pinching myself. I can't believe we found this apartment complex and am so happy we did. Letitia was the absolute best in getting us situated and has been a joy since then. We moved from out of state and it was a big process but Letitia made it seamless, we are so grateful to her. Freddy and now Jose and the maintenance staff are attentive to their jobs. Anything that needs repair you can count on this maintenance team to fix it within the week, barring unforeseen circumstances. We love the way this complex is managed and maintained from the landscaping to the monthly community events it's amazing. The gym and pool are the best of the amenities too. We have great neighbors and I love the sense of community here. I also love that we can have our dogs and I thank the management company for that .so Thank You! Not every complex takes all breeds. The service here via Latisha, Molly, and maintenance is miles better than all other 3 apartment complexes I've been to. I've grown to absolutely hate working with apartment staff - understandably, it's the bigger corporation's fault, not the people they hired. I mention it again because I run a large business and it's based heavily on customer service. I had already made a review 1 month after moving in because of how easy they made it and how communicative they were. The place has been fantastic for the first 8 months and any time I have a normal problem it's resolved literally within 24 hours. The screened-in porches are also as good as advertised, better even. Love the gym and the community which seems like it's full of nice people on walks every day. Would sign up for another lease because of these points alone. There's plenty of places with great homes etc. (like Avalon), but a severe lack of quality service in this industry, not at Avalon. read more

We lived here 18 years ago when we moved from New Jersey. After living in Fuquay Varina for those 18 years we decided to downsize and after looking at the options available to us, decided to come back to Avalon Peaks because of the neighborhood feeling of the place. the rooms are larger than any of the places we explored. most of all we enjoy our screened in porch. The staff is extremely quick to respond to any and all of the tenants needs. A few weeks ago we had a family reunion and needed a place to have the lunch while waiting to get everyone to the airport. Before we moved to the Raleigh area a few years ago. We took a week and came down to check out Apartments. We spent 3 days looking. As we were on our way back to the airport to fly off, my wife noticed a sign on 10 10 road and it said Avalon Peaks. We turned around and drove through the complex. It had Tennis Courts ( a plus ), a Frisby Golf Course, the largest pool we have seen ( we looked at 15 plus apts ) , a work out room ( small but you can wear yourself out ) , a nice gathering room if you are having a party. The Staff was very nice and attentive to us. They do check you out before you move in- you better be spotless ! Dog friendly also ( big or small ) . The Hollyhock Apt design was fantastic. It has room and you can spread out. This comples has spacious apartments than the others. A nice screened in porch with room. We knew it was the right place ! We have been living here 1 year and a special came up in the winter time on apts. Our lease was going to expire in 30 days and we wanted to sign for the new rates. After some him hawing, they said they would give us the rate, but we would have to move. We were lucky the people across from us were moving so we moved in that apt. Our views are of woods and Deer in the morning and early evening. The grounds are surrounded by trees and it is very quiet. If you have something that needs repair in the apt, they are Johnny on the spot in repairing it. Great service. Avalon Peaks feels more like a vacation spot than a complex.you think you are at a Hilton Head Plantation. Well you make your own mind up, but you have to come here and check it out before you rent some other place. Easy access to 1 from 10 10 road. Raleigh is 10 min away and Cary is just a few min away. We love renting from Avalon Peaks. We have a great apartment with a great amount of storage options and amenities. The on-site staff is amazing and has bent over backwards making sure that we are taken care of. The maintenance staff is incredibly responsive and communicative, and we weren't just a dollar sign to the leasing staff. Lateishia is our daughter's favorite agent, because she always has a smile and an ice pop for her! The neighborhood is serene and quiet, except for the deer running through the yard or a blue heron flying over the pond. You could try to find something wrong with this place, but, you'd just be wasting your time. read more

Avalon is a very family friendly environment. A safe community with wonderful people. Any given morning, afternoon, and evening; you'll see tons of walkers and dog walkers. I love the neighborly/friendly vibe of Avalon.And, if that wasn't enough, the front office staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. Every single time I've had to reach out to them for random things, they have always been kind and pleasant. The maintance staff has always come out when I've put in a work order and I've never had to wait an exceptionally long time either. My husband and I just recently renewed our lease here and we plan on renewing for many years to come. We've found our home! I lived here for about two years. Honestly, it's probably better than a lot of the other apartment communities in the area. The staff is great and if you ever need something fixed, they'll address it very quickly. The people that tend to rent here are families (in the larger units), older folks, and some people in their 20s/30s. Noise was never an issue for me. My problems are probably more rooted in management decisions. When my lease was up after a year, they jacked up my rent (which was expected). However, the nearly identical vacant apartment NEXT to mine was about $200 cheaper per month. Naturally, I tried to get the same rate, but the Drucker & Falk regional manager would only agree not to raise my rent. So, I moved into the apartment next to mine. It seemed silly, but it saved me $2000 over a year, minus the pizza I bought my buddies to help move. The other thing I think is ridiculous is their current agreement with Valet Waste, which provides trash pickup at your door. They charge $25/month on top of your rent for the trash service and there is no opt-out. Also, if you leave the Valet Waste trash can outside during the day twice, you'll get slapped with a fine. So, if you want trash pickup and plan on spending the night somewhere else, you better either leave the house after pickup and bring the can in or put the trash in the dumpster yourself. The only other thing that is a mixed bag is the location. Even though you're right off Rt. 1, you're still a good 20 minutes from downtown Raleigh. So, if you enjoy living in the suburbs, go for it. Make sure to scout out downtown Apex and Beaver Creek Commons because they'll be your friends. The amenities here are ok, probably not much different than any other community. There's a pool; one time I helped rescue a baby turtle from it! There's a car wash area and a vacuum (no air for your tires though--you have to go to the nearby Kangaroo for that). There's a small gym, plus tennis and basketball courts. The basketball court would tend to get puddles and it's right near the dog park, so if you're playing after work then you'll get barked at. You can run around the neighborhood for exercise, but you can't really run any real distance without doing quite a number of laps.... it gets boring, which is a word that pretty much sums up my experience here. If I had to do it over again, I'd rent closer to Raleigh rather than trying to be closer to my work. read more

I lived in two different apartments over the course of three years. I found the office staff to be jovial and amazingly helpful. I found the maintenance staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, and overall, my living there was a positive experience as both myself and my roommate came from living in our own homes with lots of privacy to having neighbors and being concerned about making noise/disturbing others. I owned two dogs and while the complex is liberal regarding their dog policy, some owners were less considerate than others regarding follow through on their canine's waste disposal however the complex kept on top of it. There were few children- or if there were more, most were in areas that did not affect me. My neighbors had a boisterous 2-3 year old who, while being amazingly expressive, we never heard through our apartment walls. Periodically, we would hear deep bass from cars driving by but otherwise, noise was never an issue- again, for two individuals used to living in their own homes and not used to having neighbors sharing walls. As a woman, I found the area to be well lit and never felt unsafe walking my dogs late in the evening. Overall, it is quiet and without drama. The landscapes were well maintained with a wonderful pond in the back area that was often frequented by a Blue Heron, and rabbits, foxes, and even coyotes were not uncommon sightings. My only complaint is that if you had to get on 10-10/Center Street road between 7-8:30 am, you had to rely upon the kindness of strangers to pull out of the complex as the traffic was often bumper to bumper but this is not the fault of the complex but was a consideration regarding getting to work on time. While the apartments I rented were slightly more expensive than the average 3 bedroom unit in Cary/Apex, it was worth it. Both were very large in size and very well maintained. The layouts would allow for plenty of windows and light. There was lots of room for furniture, wall space for pictures, storage, etc.- just overall, a nice spacious apartment with good kitchens and lots of room to move around. Some balconies are open while others are screened- I had both and enjoyed the benefits of both. It was difficult finding a comparable apartment after being spoiled by the layout of both apartments rented. It was a great experience to spend three years of my life at Avalon Peaks. I highly recommend the complex for anyone who is looking for an area to live that is above the standard without being pretentious or lacking character. It is a complex of many types of people, many types of dogs, and a variety of different cultures and interests all interwoven together. It is a very family environment with a respect toward everyone's special needs and/or privacy, and for a third time, for a person coming from a home with a great stereo system, I didn't have to worry about disturbing my neighbors if I decided to play some late night music. read more

Staff are very nice, though we had to pay for carpet throughout which is expensive. They take pictures of padding, for signs of any pet stains. I was little disappointed about replacing all the carpet, I thought the monthly pet fees covered it. read more

I would not recommend for anyone to live here. The maintenance team is horrific. The first time they came into my apartment for a maintenance request, they left lights on, and did not put back into place the items they had moved to address my issues. I called the office to request that the next time maintenance came into my apartment, that they take more care to set every back to the way it was before they entered. However, the VERY NEXT DAY, they "forgot" to turn my hot water heater back on. We do not return from work until after the office is closed, so I put in an emergency maintenance request. Who wants to take an ice cold shower on a 15 degree winter day? They did not respond to my emergency request. The maintenance team also leaves no confirmation that they completed work in your apartment. Furthermore, the management does not care about current residents. Every time I call the office, they sound disinterested, if not annoyed, once they realize I am a resident. There have been more then 3 times that I have simply went to the office to pick up a package (which literally takes 10 seconds or less for them to do) and have had to wait for 20 minutes, and at most 40. That is utterly unacceptably. The most recent time, there were 4 different residents waiting on a member of the office staff, on a Tuesday, to get our packages. One of the people waiting with me asked, after 30 minutes of waiting, if the staff member could simply give us our parcels, and in a disrespectful tone, she told him to wait a few minutes more until she was done conversing with a new prospect. Any property management professional knows that is it a horrible sign of disrespect to dismiss current residents for future prospects. If anything, management should want to show their potential future residents that they actually care about their current residents. This is NOT the case at Avalon Peaks. I also agree with one of the previous posts, about how they charge an extra $25 for valet trash service, which is not optional. The trash cans provided by this service are much smaller than normal trash cans, and have extremely strict rules surrounding the times they are allowed to by put out for pickup. The pool was contaminated this summer due to poor chemical maintenance, yet none of the residents were contacted about this problem. There was a small sign posted on the gate near the pool that most adults would never have noticed. The landscaping and groundsman team is sub-par at best. They consistently blow mulch and grass clippings onto residents decks and front door entrances, with no attempt to clean up the mess they made. There is a HUGE problem with GIANT SPIDERS on both our front and back porches. We have purchased over 10 large cans of bug spray in the past 6 months, yet that still does not seem to keep the critters at bay. We also contacted the office regarding this issue, but nothing of notice seemed to be done about it. read more

Just wanted to say, I used to live here and loved it! I lived in the Geranium model. Staff was always nice, and the amenities were great. OMG - the rent on the website has increased a crazy, absolutely crazy amount with the remodel. I cannot believe how much they want now for rent. If you can afford to pay the rent for a two bedroom here, screw it - buy a house - it will be way cheaper! I moved to Las Vegas last year and am renting a 3 bedroom house in a great neighborhood with a great private, fenced in back yard and I am not paying anywhere near the rent they want for a two bedroom at these apartments. Let me say this also - I have someone come clean my house once a month, have granite counter tops and stainless steal appliances, hard tile flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms, washer and dryer included in my rent and with the air conditioning running 10 months a year all that combined and I still do not pay as much as these apartments now want in rent. AND - no breed restrictions on my house. If you haven't registered my opinion yet on the rent prices here - let me repeat with just one word.....INSANE! Move to Las Vegas! read more

I have lived here for 1 1/2 yrs. I was going to look for a complex that offered a smaller apt with a garage. After doing a lot of searching I have decided to stay here in a smaller apt even though I will not have a garage. There are many complexes around there was only one that came close for my needs and it was smaller and I would ending up spending almost the same for a smaller apt. The office staff her is terrific as is the maintenance staff. The grounds are kept up also. There are playgrounds, basketball court and tennis courts and kids and pets are welcome. The last complex I lived in had alot more kids of all ages and they played in the parking lots-sometimes scratching and denting cars. They were load and could be very annoying at pool. Any of the kids around here are respectful and pleasant. It is quiet here and I feel safer here than any other complexes I have been at. There is alot of traffic on TenTen but you will find that almost anywhere. read more
