We have lived at this complex for almost nine years and have seen several property managers cycle through. Under the management of Shaun Lambert, the property was clean, communication with the community was transparent and timely and there were few surprises. The property was built in 1984 and had mature landscaping, ornamental trees and was aesthetically pleasing. That was one reason why we chose to relocate to our townhouse. However, the rules of the complex are not consistently enforced, the complex appearance has suffered since Shaun's departure two years ago. Tenants are supposed to keep patios, decks and fire egresses clear. The magnolia at our corner was cut down. The tree in front of our apartment which was welcomed green and shade was trimmed and unbalanced. It fell after heavy rains on my Jeep, no less. Lastly, the landscape crew cut back two tall, lovely cedars that provided a bit of privacy between apartments so severely that they have not grown new vegetation. So, I was quite surprised to see the remains of an HVAC unit outside my front door. I have additional photos here that show curtains around porches, outdoor mounted TV and mounted fan at another apartment. I am thankful that the complex is non-smoking. But, there are many other issues that have contributed to this becoming a very transient community with a very shifted sense of amenity. There are car break ins and residents who have ring cameras who post intruders of the complex on the community chat asking if anyone recognizes them. For having to pay a rent so exorbitant, we have requested/suggested security cameras be installed to attempt improving safety. I dont see responses on the community chat, and it is so difficult to actually get through to the office. They may respond to a text message three to fours hours after your contact with the office. read more

Have lived here since May 2025. We absolutely love it here. The grounds and amenities are kept in pristine condition. The office staff are friendly, professional,and always willing to listen and offer solutions if needed. The maintenance staff here are top notch! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for an apartment community to live in. We look forward to resigning our lease as we happily continue to call this place Home! read more

We lived here for five years. Lovely neighbors, for most of our time - a couple of unpleasant upstairs neighbors proved to be a challenge. If you have uncourteous people upstairs, the noise can be annoying. The staff was always pleasant. Love the location, you are 20 minutes from everything, shopping within walking distance, and a beautiful lakefront walking trail behind the complex. Prices have increased significantly since we first moved in but in line for the area. read more

Rent rises every lease, more and more reserved parking spots are sold to people right in front of buildings making finding parking after work a nightmare. Camdens idea, let's take away 10-12 more parking spots and make em RV spots so we can charge more money for them ‍ Outdated interiors, no smoking outside which is one of the dumbest things ever put into anyone overpaying for rent in the first place.. It's midnight and the upstairs neighbors are blasting music - yet again. This is one of many nights they are making so much noise past 11pm... it sounds as if they are in my apartment. I've complained to management several times and they have not taken action. If we pay rent we are entitled to a safe and habitable environment to live in. read more

I first lived here in 2001 when it was called Summit! It's where I was living when I met my late husband. I always loved having the park next door! This time I rented completely online, they had a different name, but something was familiar. And I really liked how helpful the leasing agent was, Matthew! He found me exactly what I wanted for the price I needed! I didn't really realize it was the same place until I came here to meet him. I'm on my second year here. It's a little sad missing my hubby, but I love it here. The location is awesome, staff is awesome, maintenance is incredible! The only bad thing was my rent went up A LOT this year! If it goes up A LOT next year I will have to move! I just don't know where yet! i may just get a bigger Rv & live in that!!!! read more

We have lived at Camden Lake Pine for almost a year. We love it here. The maintenance staff is way better than most places. I really love the fact that two of the main staff including Justin care and you're treated as a person. While Justin was dealing with a small wasp problem he made sure to check on our dryer they have been working on. It made my morning since that was the last thing on my mind. read more

Especially Lauren...my husband and I were out-of-town and had left some important documents...Lauren was able to get the documents and overnight them to us!!!! That type of customer service is so seldomly seen in today's world...and we have it right here at Camden Lake Pine!!!! On our first visit here, we knew immediately that we had found our new home!!! I have absolutely LOVED living here for the past 2 1/2 years. The office staff AND maintenance team are second to none. The apartment manager, Sean, provides personal, caring assistance to all residents, keeping everyone apprised of apartment upkeep, maintenance, and anything the residents need to know in their everyday lives. The assistant manager, Ashley, provides excellent customer service, professionalism and attention to detail with managing leases. The two leasing agents, Matthew and Jason are personable, kind, and caring. The maintenance team is the very best maintenance I have ever experience while renting or leasing apartments. The team is timely, professional and ensures every job is done correctly, & always checks with the residents regarding services provided. Terrible! Cars sit unmoved for months. Apartment office is unprofessional and RUDE! They do not understand what we have to put up with as tenants. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Assistant manager stood outside my apartment talking about us-extremely unprofessional, valet trash drops bags nightly and management said "it's the residents putting their trash out late trying to make it to the truck", new dog park FILLED with feces, dog waste bins arent emptied on a regular basis and STINK in the summer. However-AFTER 2 years my dryer actually dries clothes in 1 hour not 3 hours. Black mold in both showers. Do NOT waste your money- not run well! read more

The office will promise you everything and then lie saying that they never said it. Get things in writing. The apartment have bugs. they do keep the outside fairly nice. The utilities are overpriced that are included in your rent. I would never live here again. read more

But what I love the most about living here, and only reason I give five stars, is the quick and responsive maintenance man, Justin. is by far the best, he should get a raise! I have been a Camden Pine Resident for the past 3 years and I love living here. The community is beautiful and very well kept. The ground are very well maintained and it's very clean. My apartment is on the top floor and has a nice view. I am a quiet person and I enjoy having neighbors that behave the same way. If you have an issue in the apartment, maintenance comes right away and fix in a nick of the time. The office staff is very friendly, I always have a great time when I go there for whatever reason. I can't really complain about anything! You are nearby the lake and can just walk from your apartment, which is a great plus if you don't want to take the car to stretch your legs! A very convenient shopping center is also at walking distance: supermarket, bank, veterinary, dry cleaner, mani/pedicure: you name it, it's here! Yes, they don't accept package anymore at the front desk because it became a real issue: some people don't have decency to either pick up whatever they order in a reasonable time frame, or - and I have seen with my own eyes - the packages were so big that it became difficult to move around. That is the OFFICE, not a Warehouse! The management had no choice and actually felt pretty bad when they eliminated the service. This is a great community and you will be very happy here. I'm pretty disappointed with my Camden experience. The staff is friendly, the pools are nice (when they are open!), and the kitchen upgrades are good, BUT there are some things that really don't live up to their "Living Excellence" claims. Apparently they will no longer be accepting packages at the front desk! I have lived at less-nice apartment compexes, and each have accepted packages. For what I pay in rent at Camden, they really need to include this service! To be honest, I feel gypped, and other coworkers of mine who live in other Camden communities feel the same way. (This has been a hot-topic at work... so I imagine others I don't even know feel the same way!) It also took over a month to get someone to make repairs to my apartment due to internal communication breakdowns. The paint job throughout my apartment was very sloppy, among other things. While I haven't been here long, I love it here. Beautifully remodeled, incredible scenery, and the office staff is both friendly and responsive. I love being close to the lake, and I love the woods surrounding the complex. It's also close to everything from Krogers, to fast food restaurants, to the library. Events are held from time to time so you can get to know your neighbors. 2 pools and gyms round out the amenities. At this point in my life, this is exactly what I was looking for. read more

My first review I wrote because I was upset, editing my review. While a ton of issues have gone wrong with my apt and I feel situations took longer to be resolved, I shouldn't have ranted the way I did. The staff are nice and are always sweet to my dogs. The apts themselves are for the most part well kept. My carpet isn't quite laid down correctly and the paint job isn't the best. The upgraded apts are def an improvement (black appliances, darker cabinets, nicer countertops, crown molding etc). I do wish they would get away from carpet like many new apt complexes are doing. This is the 2nd time I have lived in this complex (10yr gap). First time was great. This time seems I was jinxed bc of all the issues I've had (water heater, ac, pipes breaking etc) and this is rare and not the staffs fault. I do believe the response time and how their contractors handled the situations could've been better though. Anyways, so experience wise not the best but the apts are nice looking and the staff is friendly so I edited my initial review and gave more stars. read more

The BEST place to call home... I have lived at Camden Lake Pine for well over 20 years! Whether you are looking for peace and security, a beautiful landscaped clean environment,(bordering the Apex Lake Pine Community Park with 3 miles of beautiful hiking trails!), ponds and beautiful pools, and workout gyms on site all kept immaculate-Camden's Lake Pine has so much to offer. Convenient to shopping and areas and restaurants. The Friendly Staff, and maintenance technicians are friendly and pleasant, hard working, and attentive to all your needs! Management lead by Shaun Lambert and ALL the staff take wonderful care to make Camden a nice place to feel safe, happy and secure. I enjoy visiting the office to say hello, and when you have a service need it's handled quickly with friendly, knowledgeable technicians like Taylor Sellers, always receptive and quick to remedy needs if they arise. Recently renovated, great floor plans with tasteful extras you just don't find at other apartment complexes like large balconies and upgraded interiors! There's a sense of family here, plenty of activities which have brought a group of nice neighbors together. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is if you are looking for a sense of neighborhood living whether short term or long, I highly recommend you start your moving journey with a visit to Camden Lake Pine just at the border of Apex and Cary near Route 64. Camden is a convenient place to live and the exteriors are well maintained. However, the rental experience and living experience is very disappointing. I had an unpleasant experience with a leasing agent here just days before I moved in. There was a mix up in the paperwork (re, renter's insurance) that I thought my insurance company had handled. They told me they had; so I assumed they were correct. But, the copies of my policy had not been sent to Camden, and the agent blamed me for his not receiving the policy and threatened to run a new quote showing a higher rental rate. He actually did do this. So, I could not go online and get into my new resident account to pay the preliminary fees that they demanded. The online system did not recognize my signed lease rental rate because of the new quote that he entered. It took the manager's involement to sort things out. If I was not so committed with the moving company, I would not have gone through with the move to Camden. However, I had to start a new job in 3 days! This same agent said our apartment had a fireplace and had me verify that I had contacted the gas company and set up an account. I had to send Camden an account number for proof. Funny. My apartment does NOT have a fireplace. When I brought this very disappointing situation to the attention of the manager. He said, "There is nothing that I can do about that." I at least expected some concession in the rental rate since I was so mislead. Next, I did not have fans in the bedrooms like the leasing agent stated. So, the manager did have two put in of my three bedrooms that also had lights. Next, I did not have hot water in my kitchen. After living here for 7 weeks, I finally had the hot water heater adjusted by the maintenance team and got hot water to the kitchen. There are still other things on my move-in punch list that had not been addressed two months out. There is standing water all around my porch which is located near air conditioning units. This is attractive to mosquitos. And, I must mention the bugs inside here. So many roaches. Most of my neighbors are quiet, polite adults. But, there is a family with three children under the age of 5 that live above me and that sound like elephants and race horses with their unending running and jumping inside their apartment. I realize that one cannot choose neighbors in an apartment complex; but, really. Most recently, I went on the rent payment portal to pay my rent, but the program did not recognize my email, my user name or anything I tried. The next day, 11/2, I called the office for help, but no one answered. I called back about 45 minutes later, and I got a young female agent who sad that she would reset the portal and that I should have no problems. She further said that I could pay up until the 6th of the month, since it would be a Sunday and the banks would not be open (what an assumption). So, I did pay today, the morning of the 6th, and I got a notice from the office at 5 PM that I now had to pay a late fee. I am in an email back-and-forth with the assistant manager about this one. Although it is a very pet friendly complex, this just is not the living experience I thought I signed up for. The cost of living here in no way corresponds to the less than tolerable experience I have had. read more

Yes and yes! So happy I chose Camden Lake Pine. It is a friendly, comfortable and safe place to live. I have a beautifully upgraded apartment which has quality amenities. The grounds are kept perfectly, the maintenance is friendly and efficient. The lake, the lake, the lake!... and the 2 1/2 mile walk around it practically from my doorstep! Convenience of stores and essential services adjacent, but not in view. Tucked away amidst lush greenery. Friendly staff, valet garbage, and fun things like food trucks and activities. read more

I lived here for a year then moved when they hiked the price up almost 500 a month just because Costco was opening right next door. They tried to charge us fees for everything they could think of while we lived there and after we moved out. They also endangered my pet's life when they spray painted the ceiling to cover water damage and didn't ventilate in any way. Not to mention, they left paint trash out in places my pet could reach! I will definitely not live here ever again. No convenient location is worth the trouble. read more

Apts aren't painted, carpet is thin and shaggy, the a/c is LOUD and inefficient. Management doesn't care and maintenance doesn't follow up on service issues and resolutions. Time Warner TV and internet is $84 mandatory charge, and $35 trash pick up and "pest control" fee on top of rent. Apartments aren't properly maintained, and once you sign the lease the best management can do is make excuses, this is my last year here. First the good - the apartments are near a walking path, which is nice. There are a number of apartments - including ours - that have a view of the pond with water feature. That is my favorite part. And, they pick your trash up at the door - nice. The bad - this apartment is so noisy we literally spend almost no waking time here. The people above us make so much noise. I am living in an apartment as I relocate for a job and I have a short term lease. While it has been a while, I have lived in apartments before. Never have I been in one that was so noisy. I never hear anyone beside me, but the people upstairs are crazy loud. They have 7 kids. I have complained but there was not much help. They did offer to have a mediator work with us - but I am just waiting it out. I don't feel like working anything out because I won't be here that long. But you have to wonder about a complex that would allow 9 people (2 adults + kids) to live in an apartment. I also asked if the previous occupants had complained. I was told they couldn't tell me that information. So yes. There's no way they didn't. It really is worse that most places as far as the noise from above. And I've lived in much cheaper apartments in my younger day that were not this bad. The other thing that is an issue is if you have a package delivered. You pick it up in the office. But if they are showing apartments you may stand there waiting a long time. I was waiting for my mortgage papers and had been told they were delivered. When I went to check with the front office everyone was busy showing apartments to new potential residents and five people were waiting in line. Then there's the bugs. On the ground level, there are a lot of bugs that come in. read more

I lived at Camden Lake Pine for over a year. I paid my rent on time and was a model neighbor. I had a pipe burst in my apartment due to their negligence while maintaing the sprinkler system. They cut several holes out of the ceiling because of the damage, I moved out two weeks later and they never came back to repair the ceiling. Then I get a bill for carpet needing to be "deep cleaned". It is ridiculous to be charged extra for "traffic stains". I did not even wear my shoe on the carpet. I would never recommend anybody to ever live here. We were nickeled and dimed to death while living here with extra fees and mandatory services. read more

The landscaping (trees, shrubs, flowers, grass) and access to Apex Lake and the adjacent park make this apartment complex a step above the rest in this area. I have been impressed with the staff and the promptness of maintenance solving any problems that I have had. Keep up the good work! read more
