Hi, my name is Trevor. I went to Avalon rehab after having a L5 S1 spinal fusion done with a pinched nerve. They never did any assessment on me had me doing bending and twisting exercises. I will say Craig is one of the most incompetent physical therapist that you could ever find. They pack 5 to 6 people in one room at a time with only Craig giving exercises they also have minimal equipment mostly just a chair they don't even have exercise bands Do not ever go here. This place is horrible. Craig should not have a physical therapy license. It should be revoked. Please go elsewhere. read more

The worst medical experience I have ever had!! The owner is a white DR who is too angry. I am a female and was alone in a room with him. I asked him a simple question and exploded on me. He yelled to get on the table and he forcefully through the warm compress on my hips. He realized he was too forceful and he said sorry and walked out. I got up and told the front desk how unprofessional he is . I did notify my insurance at the time it happened but nothing ever came of it. Made an account just for this, one of the Dr. at my ortho warned me about this place but mission hospital had a 6 week wait atleast so i couldnt get in. Went to one appointment htey showed me stretches over a couple weeks did them wrist started getting worse not better and when i called them i asked them "when is my next appointment shouldnt it have already happened?" never scheduled me. So after writing a review for this place for my wife being treated, I AM NOW A PATIENT HERE! I broke my ankle and had surgery and was given Avalon Rehab as my PT. I have had back pain and right shoulder pain for around 2 months now. I came in to the office and am so glad I found this place! The staff, environment, patient experience and convenience at Avalon Rehab are top notch. Mike and Craig Carlson are so professional and extremely well informed about the latest protocols and best practices. They consult with each other continually and they are great about educating patients and the recovery process. My main concerns at the time was my right shoulder pain as I was in a lot of pain when I first came in, and with treatment and the take home exercise, I made significant improvement and reduced my pain tremendously. First visit for my evaluation, the old man PT was VERY condescending and loudly talks about your condition in a degrading way where the entire office can hear. Once treatment or PT exercises started, there was NO check-in to ask me how I was doing with my pain. The other PT Craig is the one working with you on the exercises and is a little better at patient care. But it's a very "get in, get out" type of PT clinic. I can tell they brush off younger patients. Would not recommend my friends or family to go to this clinic. Save you and your insurance the time and money and try a different clinic. read more

Greg his Father Mike, Samantha and Lupe are the absolute best! I came to see them in april of 2019, I was in a coma for 16 days and hospitalized for over 40 days. I had severe nerve damage and atrophied from all of this as well as a severely damaged back. I showed up 50 lbs under weight and in a wheel chair. Today 2/4/2020 I walked out for the last time. I can not thank the whole staff enough. Their kindness and patience is extraordinary! Very rude PH, the old man is very unprofessional. He yells and screams to patients. If patients have a question, he would answered so loud that the other patients in the cubicles and family members that are in the waiting room can hear his voice. There is no waiting time in the office. Each session takes about the same amount time. With no waiting, and each session taking the same amount of time, it makes it easier to plan and schedule your day. I have also seen how they treat other patients. Mike and Craig are very professional physical therapists and do a great job!! So why the one star?? First, their front office staff is totally incompetent and rude. All I wanted to do was to schedule an appointment, but she didn't know how. It was so bad that I had to get my doctor's office involved just to get an appointment scheduled. Also, they won't schedule continuing appointments, I'm not sure why. So, if you have a prescription for 6 weeks worth of therapy, you have to call and make an appointment week by week and risk them being booked up. If the therapists weren't so good, I would have gone somewhere else. If you want excellent therapists and can deal with incompetent morons at the front window and having to book appointments week-by-week, then this is the place for you. read more

I have Neck Pain, Plantar Fasciosis and Right shoulder pain about 4 months ago. I cant tell you have much better I felt after the first appt. Michael and Craig Carlson, are so professional. Due to my insurance, they could only work on one body part, at a time during a visit. So my main concern at the time was my left foot, it hurt so much in the morning with a sharp pain, and with treatment & the take home exercise, I could tell a difference right away. I will definitely recommend their office to co-workers, family & friends as well. I have been to different Physical Therapy offices prior to this one, and always felt rush for treatment and that the staff didn't care. My son needed rehab for an elbow problem and my HMO said I had to go to Avalon Rehab. I called once and after a ring or two it went straight to voice mail. This was during the late morning. I didn't leave a message and was going to call back later. I called at 2:30pm and again, it went to voice mail. This time I left a message with all my information and waited for them to call me back. They didn't call me back that day so I called the next morning and left another message at 9:19am and with all my info. Never heard back from them. If i could give zero stars i would. I had surgery dec 19. Stitches out yesterday. I was supposed to be getting desensitization therapy. After asking me what i did wrong in life (after expressing i had a child with needs and having surgery at 37) mike threw the tens unit on me and said to suck it up, that it was only 2 volts. It made me jump off the chair in severe pain. Mike told me if i didn't use my hand i would lose it. I will not be going back. Have been to many PT places over my lifetime and this by far was THE worst place ever. First - trying to get them on the phone is impossible to get an appointment was terrible; Second - stuck me in a room and told me to do certain things and left--didn't bother to watch to see if I was doing things right; Third - stuck me in another room and did the same - gave me exercises and left. Came back after a while and just asked if I was finished. Gave me printed exercises and sent me on my way. WILL NEVER set foot here again. Now trying to get copies of the records - sent request via fax on 8 days ago and nothing. Called and they said they have many requests for records - I was there 1 time! Would not recommend this place if it was the last one on the planet. read more
