BEWARE! AVOID AVALON SEPTIC!!! We had our septic tank cleaned out in the summer of 2016. Avalon took over from our previous service who retired, so we went with the new guy (Avalon). We had about 6 inches of rain the day before Avalon came. We told JP Becker (the owner who came to pump) that the previous septic service pumped with the truck on the driveway and used hoses to reach our tank which is about 120 feet away. JP then decided he would drive his truck through the yard to reach the tank rather than using extra hoses. HE LEFT 200 FEET of 4-10 INCH TIRE TRENCHES IN THE YARD! One would think that he would have known about his tires sinking within the first 20 feet, but not JP...he just kept driving and ruining our yard for his convenience. Never came to the door when he was done, just drove off. After he left I looked out in the yard and was stunned at the damage he did. We called him and he was unapologetic. We made a complaint with the BBB and once they contacted him he called us and left threatening voice mails telling us to remove the complaint (we let is stand) We had a landscaper come and they told us he did $1200 worth of damage!!! My husband being the peacemaker just sucked it up and went back and forth to the landscaper and brought truckload after truckload of dirt and over several weeks filled in the trenches and reseeded the lawn. It took us until this year to finally have our yard look normal again. We should have taken him to small claims court as we would have won. NOW THE ICING ON THE CAKE, we were due to have our septic pumped again (must be done every three years) and the new company came out this morning. I asked him to not drive on the yard (no problem he said) and he proceeds to pump the tank. After pumping he knocks on the door to let us know we were days from disaster. He has had many customers who have used Avalon and "has cleaned up after them many times". He then tells me that AVALON DOES NOT CLEAN SEPTIC FILTERS AS HE IS AFRAID HE WILL DAMAGE THEM AND DOESN'T WANT THE LIABILITY. BECAUSE OF THIS, OUR FILTER WAS COMPLETELY CLOGGED WITH OVER 6 YEARS WORTH OF SEPTIC CRAP!!! He said that if we would have had a few more people over for a get together we would have had a basement full of septic backup. So we are still cleaning up Avalon's mess from three years ago. Thankfully the disaster was averted. If you have had your septic pumped by Avalon in the past, you would be wise to have another company come out and check your filter even if you are not due as Avalon DOES NOT CLEAN SEPTIC FILTERS which is a routine part of septic pumping and maintenance. read more
