( look it up before you sign a lease here) I don't even know where to begin my experience here has been so bad. The apartments are cute and modern when you move in but cheaply renovated. My dishwasher smelled like sulfer didn't work the whole year I lived there. The tub was not sealed correctly and just from taking a shower peeled like crazy. The dumpster/trash situation is disgusting and I had to report them to the city, still was not corrected. The noise violations were insane, howling dogs for hours on end, being woken up at 4 and 5am on the weekends from their landscapers and waste management trucks. The fees are CRIMINAL and they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING - but when it comes to what you are paying for $255 in amenities fee - the pool and or spa was broken down and closed more than it was open . They charge you for community utilities, the list goes on. They rope you in with affordable rates then rake you over the coals with fees for EVERYTHING. When I moved out I needed a couple days past my lease date due to a funeral and going out of state. Greystar increased my rent 68% for the pro-rated rent. Hello, my name is Huseyin Erdem. When I renewed my lease in 2024, I signed a 10-month lease instead of a 1-year lease because I told you I would be moving out in 2025. In January 2025, I said I wanted to move out earlier if possible, but due to the rules, there was a 2-month penalty. So in short, I told you multiple times verbally that I would be moving out. Since I'm a truck driver, I forgot to give written notice and ended up giving it 15 days late. Because of this, you didn't allow me to move out early, and I had to pay an extra $700 in rent as a penalty -- because "those are the rules." According to Arizona state law, after a tenant moves out, the landlord must return the security deposit or send a check within 14 business days. If this is not done, the landlord is required to pay double the deposit amount. But you sent my deposit on the 23rd business day. Are you scammers, mafia, the government, or God? They frequently inspect your apartment with a 2-4 day notice. They just inspected in May 2025 and just gave us a 2 day notice of another tomorrow. They check appliances, a/c, etc but even if old and barely serviceable, they don't replace. Annual inspections would be more reasonable and less evasive! read more

They r crooks where do i start....convinced me to move in early for $500 off special then never gave credit, Billed for garbage service,3 months before i had a can to use, forget the $300 deposit they say , mine ended up being a full month plus admin and pet deposit. They said oh u will get it back when u move. yeah right! lease renewal for 18 mo was 2400 that was up from 1600. month to month is 3100 up from 1600. Now they r suing for eviction to keep the deposit and then some. Apartment flooded first time i used the washer because they forgot to put in drain hose. Dishwasher air loop gap was not there and dishwasher not mounted properly. Cant get them to fix anything on time, i still got stuff broken.No dedicated parking with extra each month. Greystar will nickle and dime you to death! There is no grace period for rent. It is due on the 1st and the payment portal shuts down on the 2nd. There is absolutely NO parking! But you can purchase a carport for $45/mo. After I moved in, I noticed paint peeling from the bath and shower walls and now I need to be gone for a full day with my pets to allow them to resurface the entire area, with no regard to my inconvenience. But they have no issues applying penalty fees for ridiculous infractions as putting your trash out before 6pm. The blinds on the door are plastic and crumble at the slightest touch. They will charge you to replace. Gates are never locked or closed - so don't count on this for security. Windows to the apartment don't open. Very little to no cold water. Refrigerator light doesn't work and there's nothing they can do. There is only one person for maintenance and it takes a month to get a response, if they end up doing anything at all. read more

Pros: -Near the freeway(101) -Located in a convenient neighborhood near chandler mall -Front office staff is friendly (Danielle is awesome) -Hosts apartment wide events -Decent apartment space - Gym is nice Cons: -Maintenance is limited(forget about them fixing anything in a timely manner)we went months without hot water in one of our bathrooms and A\C for a week. My daughter also caught a respiratory infection from what doctors detailed was the cause of "poor air ventilation". We had a request in for filter changes for weeks. Bugs started coming through our sink drain from a clogged sink that never got unclogged. We tried our own method of drain-o but nothing worked. -Your car is at risk of break in(like mine). - You're likely to witness an elderly man exposing himself in front of your children(like mine) - Literally zero parking spaces for residents or guests - Dogs bark all times of the night and day -Dog poop around apartments -Rent increases are ridiculous. My rent increased by $700 upon the resigning of my second term. In an effort to resolve most of the issues that I had. I contacted management (Nikki), then wrote a detailed letter to the regional manager(Spring) who forwarded me to their lawyer, (Chris) who essentially stated that my case isn't unique(as if most residents have these same issues) and released all liability from Avana and management. Typical for any business who value money over the true happiness and lively hood of their business and the individuals whom keep their business afloat. All in all, I would not recommend Avana Coronado if you have time to shop around. The pros does not outweigh the cons. For a two bedroom two bathroom apartment costing $2,200 a month, the conditions we endure here are unacceptable. And the lackluster attitude from top management and the lawyers are inexcusable. RENTER BEARE I had to rate this property just to be able to post this review I wish I could give it a zero. on move-in day, the apartment was filthy. There was standing water behind the washer and dryer along with lint. That was soggy and disgusting. The washer smelled awful. There was urine stains at the base of the toilet, and one bathroom there was trash and debris under Neath the sink base between the sink, base and dishwasher... Used Drano bottles, empty water, bottles, old pots and pans and some construction debris when we logged a ticket for the apartment to be cleaned. We were told it would be 3 to 4 days before they could get Cleaning People out there so obviously we had to hire our own cleaning people because we were moving in.!! While living there, we realized being on the bottom apartment was not a good choice as the walls and ceilings are paper thin. You can hear the people simply walking above all day and all night.. There is no parking I won't even say limited parking. There is no parking unless you pay for a covert spot. Also, there is one trash dumpster and you are required to use their trash, butler service, and pay for it as you are not allowed to take out your own trash.. The front office staff is terrible. Annalisa is one of the rudest people you will ever come in contact with. They never answer the phone. It goes directly to the answering service and you have to wait. Also, you can log tickets For repairs to be made but over half of them will never get done. We recently moved out and right before move out day I went in to request a written list of items that need to be completed for move out. I was told by Annalisa that they did not have anything updated in writing for me to have for move out day .. I was verbally told that all we had to do was clean the apartment and spackle any holes but then Ana Lisa mentioned she would also provide paint at that time I ask do I have to paint and she said no and I said again can I have this all in writing, and again I was told by Annalise said that they did not have that. She mentioned at this time I could schedule a walk-through I said great can we schedule one she actually scheduled it for the day we Were to give the keys back I thought to myself how convenient you schedule it on the day I'm supposed to give the keys back therefore, I would have no time to Remedy any corrections that we needed to make at that time I asked what would the timeframe be and she said that she would have to get with the maintenance people to have a schedule but it would be a two hour window. I asked can I have a 30 minute call prior she said no that they didn't do that I said OK then I have to wait the full two hours at the apartment waiting for somebody to come by and she said yes she said that she would email us the timeframe which she never did when I went into return the keys. I asked her when my walk-through was set and she said that I didn't answer her as to if I wanted to have one .. she lied . obviously I wanted one because I asked of i could receive a call 30 mis prior to the walk thru .. so obviously I wanted one . I was so upset I just walked out of the office ... now wondering what we will be charged for as I do not trust this process one bit .. read more

They charge 250$ fee just for applying, they still take the money while you are still in the process of review and if you don't get accepted they still take the money and don't want to return it back. This is the WORST apartment complex we have lived in. The leasing office somehow always has excuses or no resolutions or any issues on ANYTHING. They throw their hands up when it comes to resident issues and either do not respond to emails/calls or do absolutely nothing to help solve an issue. My husband and I transferred to a bigger apartment because we had a pigeon issue where they were pooping on our patio and their would be piles of poop and they never did anything to solve it. After badgering them to figure something out because my dog got sick from the poop, they transferred us. This transfer was a mess. They never actually processed the transfer until weeks went by, and when they finally did, we still did not receive our security deposit refund back until day 50!! We pushed the office, ,corporate, etc, and they both never did anything to get this resolved. This is against Arizona law, and they just sat on it with ZERO accountability. Really AWFUL experience and it's crazy how acceptable it is for property management to just have zero accountability or be responsible to actually resolve resident issues. I have been here for 3 years and Love this complex! The front office staff is amazing. Dani is always such a joy to work with, anytime we have an issue we can go in and talk to her and she will do whatever she can to help us. We recently just upgraded apartments due to rent increase and she made it such a smooth transition. Both apartments we have been in have been great! If there was ever anything wrong that we couldn't fix ourselves we would always put in a maintenance request and they would help us within the week. The overwhelming tenant fill of FILTHY tenants and multiple families living in one apartment is taking over this complex!! There is no parking. There is no recourse of residents who park their multiple inoperable vehicles. There is no handicapped parking as the complex lets anyone park in these spot's regardless if not handicapped or holder of a place card. Maintenance - takes weeks sometimes longer for crappy, half ass work. Only once decent maintenance man left here at this complex and I am sure he is treated poorly since he is only remaining worker that goes out of his way to be kind, helpful to residents. The other remaining maintenance man is rude, does crappy work!! This place robs and charges asinine fees for everything!! The buildings are so old that the floors crack, Creek and make horrible noises when upstairs people walk around. The walls rattle and screech from faulty plumbing. The leasing office refuses to address or make any attempt to repair. Make sure your read all the fine print on a contract!! They keep so much from you until your signature is on the paperwork. DONT MOVE HERE. I am not one to waste my time on bad reviews, but this place has caused headache after headache. Office managers suck, can't answer phone, can't answer an email. I moved out in July and after many emails that have been ignored for over a month and still haven't received my security deposit back. Maintenance request take MONTHS, our AC broke for over a month when it was over 100 degrees and they said it wasn't an emergency. They lie and make up excuses after excuses. There is zero parking, you have to park outside complex then they try to tow or leave a warning sticker. Dani is useless and cannot be bothered to help or be sincere, very very fake office managers. We lived there for 2 years and want to charge almost a thousand for carpet replacement no tears, rips, holes nothing just the spots where you can tell we walked, asked if mounting the tv when we moved in was ok they stated that was normal wear and tear charging us for that then we moved in and the shower and tub was just painted that started peeling and want to have us pay to resurface the shower don't move to any grey star community unless you want to be charged damn near a full months rent for not living there, during our live there we requested someone to fix our air 3 times and they closed out 2 of our requests and never responded to the last the air turned on and off whenever and it made clicking noise at one point it got to 90 degrees in our apartment because it didn't want to cut on and all I was told was they were waiting for a part to come in but yet closed the maintenance request saying they completed our request went to front office and was told the same thing waiting for a part to come in. The maintenance dudes provide shitty half assed work. There is never parking due to management allowing occupants to have way more vehicles than what should be allotted. People don't pick up their dog shit. I would never recommend this place to anyone!! The gals in front office are great and that's about it. I have lived here for about 9 months now and I swear when we moved in this apartment felt amazing but as we live here it's flaws keep appearing.... We have had ongoing issues with maintenance ... it takes maintenance about a month or so too even get to your order or even give you some type of communication. There's multiple leaking in our apartment and the one that is in the photo on the roof has been going on for over a week and it took me having to voice my opinion, multiple calls to Avana and the front office and multiple emails that I never got a response too to finally get somebody out to look at the problem but the problem still isn't fixed this leak started the 1st it is now the 9th. Do not move into these apartments. They are raising rent and renovating but they aren't fixing the issues that are already going on just putting some "make up" on these apartment aren't going to fix them. I would like to start off by saying if there was a 0 star option that would have been selected. My roommate has lived in this apartment for a few years. After deciding to live together she asked to terminate her lease. Instead they offered moving us to a two bedroom until the end of her lease (in March). Without our knowledge the office ladies (Danielle) sent us a one year lease (when signing their lease it does not show the full document until after signing, BE CAREFUL, but rather shows you your monthly rate). After seeing the lease we tried to talk to the front office and sort out the wrong contract sent to us. Also I explained how I have a family member undergoing medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic and we planned on getting a larger space so I am able to take care of her (the two bedroom I am in is not large enough for three people and medical staff). The office lady- Danielle- listened to my story and acted interested and told me to return tomorrow to talk with her and my roommate together. We showed up the next day and they refused to talk to us. This company will do anything to make an extra dollar and doesn't care about its tenants. As someone from the sales department if I made a mistake I would own up to the problem and do the best I can to make it right. Instead, they decided to not talk with either my roommate or I and entrapped us with this terrible complex. This company has caused turmoil not only for me but my family and roommate as well. If you would like to sleep well at night, don't move here. Not to mention we were told the apartment was "newly renovated" and things were falling apart upon our arrival. Our dishwasher broke the first week and was leaking. It took a whole month for someone to come and fix it. Not only that the complex provided a trash bin. The one provided at our beginning was used with dirt and trash juice dripping from it. We asked for a new one and weren't given one until we were locked out of our apartment at 12 AM because they keys they gave us did not fit our lock properly. Thankfully maintenance was able to bring us one the next day but said it was never in their requests (proving proof of lack of communication between leasing office and maintenance). Its disappointing when we had several issues for a "new apartment" and nothing was addressed to maintenance until it was an emergency. I would never suggest this complex to my worst enemy. read more

We've had nothing but problems since we've moved in. our A/C has had issues several times, leaks from the ceiling, widows that don't properly function, our broken dryer was replaced with another broken dryer, the security gate isn't always working, one of the pools is constantly out of service, etc... I lived at Avana Coronado for a year. I'm not sure if its because they recently got bought out by a new company (grey star) or what but their customer service is awful. Every time I call I either have to leave a voice mail or they say they'll give me a call but I NEVER relieve a call and this has happened 6x. The maintenance takes awhile to get things done. I put a work order in one time because the bathtub in the master-bedroom wouldn't drain and it was addressed till 2 weeks later. By the time they came to fix the problem the sealant in the tub had lifted and started chipping (cheap) due to the tub being filled with water. My boyfriend does home remodeling and we were going to fix it because it looked awful but were told it'd get fixed but never did. When we moved out we were charged $255 for the tub. I've tried to get ahold of grey star receivables about the issue that I find unfair but for 3 weeks now but no ones reached out. Also good luck finding parking. read more
