The campus equivalent to The Vale's Fusion, this food hall style restaurant is one of many eatery options available at the University of Birmingham. As I said in my review of Fusion, one of the major disadvantages was that the best meals were often only available on a certain day of the week, but here that's not a problem, as most food is served daily (meaning you can get the excellent Chicken Joes everyday rather than just on Wednesdays). Service is always quick and efficient, and a good range of hot food is offered. The major disadvantage of Avanti lies in the prices, which are quite expensive compared to other outlets on campus such as Joes Bar, and especially considering it's first and foremost a restaurant aimed at money conscious students, which explains the lack of any real atmosphere. read more
