I visited Avanti last year, so I am late with my review. I had made appointments for a mani/pedi, and a hair cut/style. I arrived and we did nails first. My nails turned out great, no complaints at all. Very good work. When the nails were done, I went to the front desk to enquire about where to go for my hair, and they informed me that my hair appointment wasn't for another hour and a half. I have no idea why they booked it that way, and didn't inform me, but I had anticipated getting one done after the other. They were able to find an available stylist, so I was happy with that, having never been and not having a preference of stylist. My hair turned out beautiful, seemingly. I left the salon feeling very good. But after washing my hair the first time and styling it myself, I noticed that it had barely even been trimmed. I still had split ends. This was right before vacation, so I had no time to go back. Needless to say, I won't be back here for my hair. read more

I sent my niece to Avanti spa, she got her colour done by Emily and her hair was so damaged and burnt post highlights. I would not recommend this place. For half ahead of highlights it's was over $300. They add a "hair protectant mask" without asking my niece that was an extra $50 they said while obviously it didn't work because her hair is more damaged than ever. read more

Review for Avanti le Spa Westmount - Avoid Online Orders I placed an online order with Avanti le Spa Westmount on September 18th, as they were the only place in Canada that had a particular product that is extremely hard to find. I'm located in Alberta. After hearing nothing for nearly two weeks, I emailed them on September 29th to inquire about the delay. I received no response. I then called the spa on both September 30th and October 1st--each time being told someone would return my call that same day. That never happened. On October 2nd, I was finally told the product would ship unless I could pick it up--despite the fact that my order clearly indicated I was in Alberta. I requested they use FedEx or Purolator due to the ongoing Canada Post strike. They assured me they would. Instead, I received a tracking number the next day--for Canada Post. I called again on October 3rd and was told they wouldn't ship via courier because it was "too expensive." In other words, they knowingly chose to ship through a service impacted by a strike, after telling me they wouldn't. I requested a full refund and asked for email confirmation, which I still haven't received. The level of disorganization and lack of communication is astonishing. If you're thinking of ordering from them online--especially if you're out of province--I strongly suggest you don't. Based on my experience, they should not be offering online sales at all given how poorly they manage them. read more

I was subjected to very bad service, I went there to do my hair with keratin, and the hair stylist Magani burned my hair completely and my hair fell out, and when I went to them, they said this is normal and refused to fix it, so I brought the police to them immediately and filed a case in court against them, and I advise anyone not to deal with this center because their entire job is to seize the customers' money and nothing else, and they are extremely careless and disrespectful to the customer. My rating for them is below zero, and they do not deserve to be hairdressers. I advise anyone not to go there at all. read more

Just came out of the salon! Had a terrible experience with my hair colour! The lady dyed my hair and my hair colour was same after wash! she told me she won't charge me for the colour and then because it was no change in colour she did a 10 min fast highlight! My hair is NOT the colour I wanted! but eventually, she cherged me for both colour and highlight! I gave one star because another lady, Lina, was great cutting my hair and very nice. read more

It's over-rated. I had to go there because I had a gift certificate. I went there for the following: 1) Hair Color 2) Hair Cut 3) Body Wrap. Lets start with hair color and hair-cut. Nothing out of the ordinary let me tell you. I paid 100$ for nothing! Absolutely nothing. The service is okay. The reason why they do so well is because they are opened at odd hours. The body wrap. I expected so much more. They smothered me with chocolate, told me to take a bath and voila, I was done. Excuse me? Where is my 100$ worth? It made my skin smooth, yes, but for how long? I would say the rest of the day, then the next day it was back to the same. I wouldn't go to Avanti ever. It is way too expensive. There's nothing special. read more

I asked the price before and they told me it costs 40 $ but he charged me 60 $ for an awful 5 minutes haircut !!!!!!!! You can't believe that he didn't even touch the scissor !!! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my first visit to this spa. I had high hopes about this place. I made an appointment for a pedi. The asian lady who did my pedicure can only apply the polish on your toes, she has no design skills whatsoever. I asked her to simply do a line across my big toe so one side would be a colour and the other side would be another colour. She said she's never done that before and was going to try. I said ok. She did try on one foot and I didn't like it so I told her to do something else that was really simple instead : three dots . She did it on the other foot and I liked it. But when I asked her to do the same on my other foot, she acted like she was confused and told me that she didn't have time and that she was going to try to do the dots on top of the previous line she drew on my toe. She did it and I didn't like it . When I told her I didn't, she lost patience and rushed to re-do it. At the end i found myself with a pretty bad polish application. I was curious about this place but never going back. The worst is that I had to pay 52$ for a 20$ job. read more

Had a HORRIBLE experience getting my eyebrows Microbladed by Ecaterina Cioban !! Please don't get anything done by her ! This is my first time writing a bad review that's how disappointed and regretful i am to have ever trusted her ! And for 450$ Microblading + 100$ touch up. There is so many good technicians that charge half the price please don't make the same mistake i did. Her Instagram page will make you think you're gonna get a good Microblading technician but that ended up to be the complete opposite. The final results are very different from the before and after photos she advertises. She changed the shape of my eyebrows without my permission and plucked hald of my eyebrows without my knowing. When she finished i was shocked and told her that i didn't like what she did, she told me that once they heal they're gonna look good and natural, that wasn't true, my eyebrows are now worse that before i had come to her, they have now two arch and the one she did doesn't have any hairs it's just shade and doesn't look natural at all, it looks like i got my eyebrows badly tattooed. I texted her multiple times asking her politely to please give me another appointment and fix them but she was very arrogant and rude and told me that i was the first person to ever complain which wasn't true as per another bad review on yelp (this person had the exact same experience as me). I'm a very understanding person and I wish she would've at try to listen or be helpful. I would never trust this person with my face again. I went to a few other eyebrow technicians to get them fixed and they all told me that she doesn't seem to know what she's doing. I just hope I'll be able to get them removed read more

My teenage daughter and I walked in the spa inquiring the price for hair cut, the receptionist said the price and my daughter agreed and asked if she needed an appointment. She said someone is available right now. We went inside and met one of the hairdresser. The hairdresser refused to cut because she charges over the given price of the receptionist, therefore we are about to leave. The receptionist said she will find another one. We met another hairdresser, starts to cutting the hair. Again she said she cannot cut for that price. And let my daughter go.What is this? This is very unprofessional. A prestigious place is like a plea market to me, We left the place very disappointed, I feel bad for my daughter. Avanti really needs nicer employees. I went there one day to do my nails, hair and makeup for prom. The nail and hair lady were very nice and did what i asked for. I can't say the same for the lady who did my makeup. First off, she was very rude to me and when i would talk to her she wouldn't answer me. When i asked her to do something specific (i showed her pictures), she did something that i did not like at all. it was so bad, the foundation wasn't even my colour, my eyebrows were thiner than it was supposed to be and again NOT my colour & she didn't even blend my eye makeup well. please train your employees to be nicer to the costumers! If she were at least nice i wouldn't complain. or if she at least did the makeup well, because thats what i'm paying for! I wasted so much time and i had to fix it myself. Would recommend not to get some random "makeup artist" or to go somewhere else. read more

I booked an appt. for a dye/cut/set for this past Friday (11/29). I booked the appt. a week before and MONDAY 11/25, I called to confirm my appt was at 12:30pm. I showed up to my appt. yesterday at 12:09pm and told the receptionist I knew I was early, but since this was my FIRST TIME at their salon (referred by my niece), I didn't want to be late. Instead of welcoming me, offering me a cup of coffee, she very abruptly old me "you are too early your appt is 1pm" I told her no it was not I had confirmed Monday. She said "You confirmed with me and it is at 1pm". So I asked to see the appt. book and she lost her color. When I refused to budge, she showed the book - lo and behold MY appt was changed and moved up to 1pm. After turning 3 different shades of red because she was caught on an outright lie, she hustled to find me a girl to dye my hair because \I told her I would not wait for over an hour for nothing. A WONDERFUL girl popped out with dye on her head because she was on her break. Her name GINA _ Cannot say enough great things about her. Great demeanor, happy, listened to what I wanted and above all, quite apologetic for the RECEPTIONISTS rudeness and lie. I explained had they called me at 11:30 or even noon to tell me I had to be moved to 1/2 later I would not have minded. But they DISREGARD proper etiquette and sheer COURTESY. I enjoyed my experience with GINA and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE who would like a PROPER so called "highend" "SPA" experience. Once Gina was done, she brought me to my "stylist" KYAN (write this name down AND DO NOT USE HER IF YOU WANT YOUR HAIR DONE PROPERLY). She looked up at me and HUFFED when Gina told her I was ready for her and she looked at me with disdain and said "you're early you'll need to wait". SHE was the one that changed my appt to take her Arab friend and now she is treating me with such disrespect??? I'm the paying customer. So poor Gina offered me a cup of coffee and I walked with her to the back. By the time I was back (less than 10 minutes) ANOTHER LADY (Arab again) was sitting getting her hair styled by Kyan. So I waited and waited - apparently she is very quick so 20 minutes waiting and I am sitting on her chair. I told her I wanted a TRIM and a STRAIGHT blow dry. She told me she would cut my long hair to my shoulders - insane right??? SO I put my foot down and said NO you will cut 2 inches at most and blow dry it straight. She cut it in a huff, then she started blow drying it CURLY- I told her that I wanted it straight with a straightner - she finished my blow dry curly - while her coworker on the next chair was shaking his head and looking very apologetic. I got up, paid my bill and gave a 10$ tip to Gina, 5$ to the girl who washed my hair and 5$ for the makeup artist. KYAN the "stylist" LOL got ZERO. She didn't deserve it. I have to say I have NEVER EVER walked out of a salon without tipping my stylist - this is a first. HORRIBLE SERVICE from the receptionist to the CAUKY KYAN - NEVER EVER GO THERE. Even my niece will stop going to Avanti (and she spends about 150$ every month there). Shameful service. SO disappointing!!! I went here hoping for a wonderful spa-like experience- after all, seeing that a haircut was $55, I had fairly high expectations. I got in, wasn't even greeted by a "hello" from the front desk staff, but rather, blank stare. I told them I had an appointment, and they told me to go sit by the hair washing sinks. A girl came to wash my hair- while she was nice, the whole hair wash was really rushed, during which time she told another lady she would be right with her, and was told by another staff member to do the dishes.. When she was done with my hair, she asked if I would like a coffee, which was nice- and which she brought me in a small styrofoam cup.. My stylist came a few minutes later, didn't even introduce herself.. She did a nice job with my haircut, but I was then shocked at what the final charge was - $75 for a plain, old regular haircut with style!!! VERY different than $55, as it says on their website. My hair isn't particularly thick, or curly, or long, or anything like that.. I was too flustered to even get into it with them, as again, the front desk staff was far from even cordial- very nonchalant, just said "cash or credit" and nothing else!!! I could see paying $75 for a hair cut with a nice relaxing scalp massage, basic politeness from staff, a drink in a real cup, and maybe knowing what you'd be paying upfront!! But it was absolutely a never do again.. I have no idea how this place remains open.. read more
