I had a very poor experience with Petro. I brought in a design that I was excited about and the consultation ended up being the tattoo session. I wish I never went through with it because the man was very cold and uninterested in anything I had to say. I expect a tattoo artist to take pride in his work, not only did he not show any sort of care but he even bled and scared me. At the end process, the second skin was full of blood and ink and I had to remove it instantly. The tattoo healed horribly and completely uneven shading, I have a scar form in the tattoo from being shredded up. He showed no remorse when I returned to show him his work, and did not try and make the situation better. I will never return to this artist or shop. $300 to have to look at a tattoo that fills me with dread. Thanks, Avanti read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this tattoo shop. The owner Michelle and tattoo artist Petro were both very personable. I booked a free tattoo consultation through the website, and with that they ask you to attach reference or inspo images. When I arrived to the shop, the artist asked for more clarity on the design, and put it together then. Once we came to a design we were happy with, since there was availability that day, the tattoo was done then! It turned out even better than I had imagined going into the consult. The artist is talented, and the owner, who also does personal makeup, is attentive and involved as well. I would most definitely recommend this studio if you are anywhere in the area! Very patient and friendly staff. Great experience. Place was modern and clean. Was my first tattoo, but have been with friends to other places, and they are usually pretty grungy. Curtis was so chill. He listened to feedback on the designs to make sure we all got exactly what we wanted. My mom, brother and I are all very happy with our new tattoos! I'm really disappointed to write this review. I live in the valley and I had gotten 2 tattoos from Chris (who apparently no longer owns the shop, but may be coming back ?), I love both those tattoos and had an amazing experience with Chris. I'm a concierge and I have referred several travelers and friends to Avanti previously. I can't even tell you the name of who did my tattoo this time because he never introduced himself. I felt uncomfortable during the entire process, I wish I would have decided not to go through with the tattoo, but I trusted this shop. I had to take the second skin that was applied off as soon as I got home because blood had seeped through and exposed it to air. I never had this problem previously, and I feel that it was because he rushed the end process. The entire experience was cold and transactional, I paid about $80 more than my previous tattoo that was larger and more detailed than this one. I was happy to have a tattoo place close to where I live, but I unfortunately will not be returning unless I hear they change ownership again. read more

Hi! This is Bonnie Zehr. We were so excited to try a new local business. We came here and sadly, so disappointed. We came (my 16 year old daughter and her 9 year old sister and myself - their mother), so my 16 year old could get a piercing. The girl (Jenny) that was going to do the piercing (a belly button piercing to be precise) was at first, very polite to my daughter. Then abruptly asked for "two forms of identification as well as your birth certificate". My daughter had her driver's license as well as her passport ID card. Without the birth certificate, no service. Why? To prove that I am her mother and not her "aunt or her cousin" - lol. Essentially the staff/owner/unprofessionals were acting like we were trying to break the law - They were very rude and disrespectful towards my daughter. Sadly, she is not the only teenager in the valley and therefore will not be recommending this establishment to any of the homies. No love for the locals here. Afraid the cops might walk in and ask for the kids birth certificate. Boo. Thankful Denver and Glenwood are nearby - where the established professionals work. read more

My friend and I came in looking for jewelry for one of her piercings. We walked in and asked if they had any jewelry. There were three tattoo artists all of which were busy doing tattoos. One artist said yeah over there and more over here while not even stopping his tattoo and looking up for a second to give some better direction. We finally found a hoop that we hoped would work. The one artist stopped what he was doing to check us out. My friend asked if the hoop would work for what she needed. The artist then said I don't know I'm not a piercer. My friend asked if they had a piecer, considering they advertise as a "Tattoo and Piercing Shop". We were told no he is here once a month. The artist was rude about it and gave us the impression we were an inconvenience for stopping by for a piece of jewelry. Three of us had actually planned to come by later this week to each get a tattoo but after how we were treated we will not be back. read more
