When I come to my appointment, we review what he's drawn and tweak as needed. Cody has NEVER had any issues making changes or modifications to his drawings if I've requested them. We do it day of and I'm never charged for the extra time we spend on this. This is a very common practice in this industry (people steal art all the time), rather than seeing your work before you come in for your appointment. There's really no other way for tattoo artists to protect their art and I consider their art sacred. The tattoo community in CO runs deep and we have so many talented artists to choose from. I know what style of tattoos Cody does and I love to approach him with ideas I think he may like. He has never turned me away and we always create beautiful art together (but it's mostly him). So, when having family visit from out of town who were desperate to get tattoos with me, I figured if we were going to do it, we'd go close to home. White Lotus was the spot of choice, and a decent one at that. Staff is beyond friendly, welcoming and eager to assist. We met with Dave who gave us a rundown of the place, provided us with rates and allowed us to make an appointment for a later date and email him what we wanted tattooed. Rates range depending on the size, shape, design level and location of the piece - but going rates start at $150/hour - which in the limited research I've done, seems reasonable. On the day of, the girls were eager to get their ink, while I found myself nervous beyond belief. A young woman (her name escapes me now) helped to ensure me everything was going to be okay, that she was there to walk me through it and gave me sound advice when it came to size, shape and locations of the tattoo. Just before she started the first line, I realized I wasn't ready for something permanently on my body and asked to stop. She was gracious and said it was no problem - as many people have this reaction. I paid her for her time but walked away inkless! I'll admit, the attention to detail, line quality and overall end result looked great on our guests - and they left happy! Whenever I'm "ready" for a tattoo or another piercing - I'll head to White Lotus!

Shawn, who used to be at the County Line location, was great. He only charged me $10 (and I would tip him.) A few years went by, and my navel piercing came out in the shower. Arrrrggghhh. Well, then the lockdown happened, and time went by, and there was no way I was going to attempt to redo it myself. Went to White Lotus, only to find that Shawn was gone, and the piercing people had moved to Arapahoe and Dry Creek. I drove there and walked in, and was told that I needed an appointment. This was a surprise, as the County Line location took walk-ins. I spoke with Brian (I think), who assured me that he could use my rose gold ring. I showed up for the appointment, only to find that Brian wasn't there, and I was scheduled with someone else. This guy told me that he couldn't use my ring or my gold barbell, because I hadn't purchased them from White Lotus. I said that I was pretty sure that the barbell had, in fact, come from White Lotus several years ago, but he was adamant. So I had to buy a blingy titanium barbell. I am not the blingy navel type at all, but here we are. Sigh. They didn't have any plain ones, and I didn't want gold because I already have gold. Their selection was extremely limited at the time that I went. They told me that they would be restocking. The piercing process was fast and efficient, and the piercer (young man with blond hair) was pleasant and personable. It wasn't as much fun as getting the original piercing 15 years ago on Colfax, surrounded by friends (when we were all drunk), but times have changed :) It wasn't inexpensive at White Lotus, either. I'll have to go back in a couple of months to switch out the bling for the rose gold (you have to wait six months before switching the piercing), and hopefully it will only be $10 again. We shall see. Or maybe I'll find Shawn somewhere.

I only have a few tattoos, and usually the ones I have some type of significance. When my grandpa passed a few years ago, I knew I wanted to get something to honor him. He taught me how to drive, owned over 100 cars, and loved driving more than anything, so I figured a car would be a great way to memorialize him. Matty was the artist to bring my idea to life. He designed a mid to late 60's mustang with florals and a silhouette of my grandpa in the driver's seat. I was in love with the design as soon as he unveiled it. Based on the placement I wanted the piece on my arm I had to lay down in an awkward position, but Matty worked quickly and tattooed delicately. I couldn't be any happier with the finished product! As far as the shop is concerned, everyone was super polite. It can be intimidating walking into a tattoo shop, and you can tell they cultivated an environment for all here. I would get tattooed by Matty any day and will recommend Dedication to anyone I know looking for some new ink!
