NOT THE SAME PLACE IT USED TO BE
All positive reviews you will find in the history are related to the way this was run with the previous owner. This is the most honest and up to date review you will find.
I had been to this store with my previous car a few years back and had a very positive experience. At that time, you would walk in and see walls filled with speakers and head units that were hooked up and allowed you to individually listen to the speakers and play with each unit to decide which ones you like best before purchase. There was always a large variety to choose from in stock. The owner was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. All items displayed were Kenwood and Alpine only; the owner stated he only dealt with the best, which I appreciated and agreed with after listening to the sound quality.
The previous experience earned my loyalty to come back with my next car. The open hours are advertised as 9AM to 6PM; I arrived at 11AM fo find it closed and no one present. While I was there, I called the number twice without answer. After returning home, I found a voice message left for me returning my call. The message left sounded like the person had just gotten out of bed and was not fully awake. I called them back and agreed to come back later that afternoon. During the call, he mentioned my car would would require a special installation harness for the head unit that would cost $130 (some line about car having Onstar installed, needed it or car wouldn't run).
When I arrived, the place was almost completely bare. There were only two small display walls with speakers and head units on display, none of which wired up so you could check them out. One guy waiting out front came in and told me to wait while he went back to get the owner to help me out. He came out front and did this again two more times over the course of a 20 minute wait. After he did finally come out, it was immediately apparent he was under the influence (avoiding eye contact, eyes frequently rolling into back of his skull, slurred speech, hunched body posture). I immediately knew this was not the same owner I had dealt with previously. I mentioned I came here due to the ability to listen to the speakers before purchase, and only using Kenwood and Alpine; he immediately spoke poorly of the previous owner degrading the quality of their work (which I knew was false). He then tried to sell me on a crappy brand and only offered one Kenwood option for the speakers, that again I could not listen to. When I turned him down, he said "fine, whatever..." and retreated to the shop in back.
After searching online, I found that "special" wire harness available for $25. Being blatantly lied to, treated with such apathy and unprofessional-ism, and dealing with someone too intoxicated to be at work on time or willing to try to help has ensured I will never return here again. Shop here, and you are supporting drug addiction. Not the same place it used to be. Very very disappointing. read more
