I know this happened years ago but I only noticed this today while removing my door to replace hinge pins lol! When Discount Auto Tunes installed my system, they only twisted the speaker wires onto the speakers! I hope whoever does work like that is no longer with them. Their work destroyed my property and Michael refused to take responsibility and was trying to take advantage of me. ****** I came to this shop to have my existing subs rewired and have a head unit installed. The head I brought unit was incompatible and they tell me both my stock amp and aftermarket 500 watt amp in the car are bad (car had be dealing with water damage so I believe this). They install a much bigger, more powerful amp. Even on the phone I ask them if they're is a smaller, less expensive option available but they say this new, more powerful, amp is the ONLY option. I assumed these installers were professionals so they would check to make sure this new amp wouldn't blow my existing 2x 12inch pioneer subs (heck, I sure payed them like professionals...) MAN I WAS WRONG!!! My 12s lasted about 5 minutes before they blew . Then when I try to explain to Michael what happened, he's say my subs were "old"? Subwoofers do NOT have a shelf life and these 2 12s I had were in storage and didn't have many hours of music through them. They were in fine working condition before this crew touched them. He (Michael) tired to SELL me new subs and a new box! Shameful, just admit you did a poor install! Michael gave me such a poor impression and just showed he's a shaddy guy running a shady operation. Enjoyed my experience with Discount Auto Tunes. Came to Discount Auto Tunes to get a new head unit and backup camera installed on my wife's "new to us" 2007 Ford Expedition EL. Worked with Malcom on the front end of things to determine which unit would best suite our needs. I ended up with a Boss Elite head unit which we are very happy with. The selection for backup cameras was very minimal but the unit that we received works well enough for what we needed. I was then passed on to Mike who handled the entirety of the installation. What we anticipated to be a simple job, ended up being a pain in the a** (as always happens working on vehicles). Mike worked tirelessly for close to 7 hours to get the head unit and camera installed properly. I stuck around for most of the time and assisted when I could because I'm nosy like that. Lol. When all was said and done, everything was installed aside from one steering wheel control module (which they didn't have in stock and I'll be returning for at a later date). The business/customer-service end of things (including the inventory issues) was more of a 4-star experience, but the effort by Mike and the end quality of the product bumped me up to 5-stars. My son waited a month for these men to put in a screen in his car. When it came home I looked and it had dirty fingerprints all over the inner screen we couldn't clean off... we realized they left a plastic film on the inside of the glass.. So we bought it back. They broke it and then slowly ordered another and broke. This happened four times. It was truly unbelievable. After arguing that this was getting unreal in levels of incompetence we agreed on a refund and replacing the brand new screen I gave them. The paperwork is signed by the employee. I went in to get my dash OEM information display screen Malcom told me to get the part from eBay an come back that they would instal , I did so an also got replacement vent trim in case they broke while the information display was being installed. I dropped my car off at 1 pm they said they would need it until close which they did 7 pm . Long story short they didn't instal the dash OEM information display said it's the wrong one but they did instal the replacement vents . Yes they did an they also got melted plastic all over the inside of my car , also now my gear shift is crooked and there is a huge gap between my dash and the rest of the pieces and they broke my other vent .. Basically my car is much worse off than before and I am out an additional $87 for the crap instal . Very upset . The word discount shouldn't mean crap work .. read more

I when in to get there to put headlights in my truck. And the roof brake light. I was What would it $85 for the headlights In $25 for a roof brake light. they were not able to put the headlights in. And only put the roof light in. And still had the nerve To charge me for the headlights that he couldn't put in. So they ended up charging me $65 for the brake light and $60 For the headlights that they weren't able to put in. After I left I looked up a YouTube video with the same truck and the same headlights that I was installing stone. it looks very easy. Do not bring your lighting needs to this buisness, which they advertise they do. Malcolm was the technician. I have a 2020 F-150 needed a tailgate light bar hard wired to lights. I was there from 10:30 until 2:45. Malcolm wired the light into my trailer light from the back side. I specifically told him when I requested this install not to do this that's why I didn't install this myself. I wanted it hard wired into the tail lights theirselves. After 4 hours turn signals not working Malcolm stated I needed a module, that's because he wired into the trailer lights. Stated he would call me tommorow. No call 3pm now. If I could give over 5 stars I would. I came in with an existing system that had plenty of bass, just didn't have the clarity and the power for the front speakers I was looking for. I don't want to ride around town with a car rattling and sounding cheap. Malcom came up with a plan for me that was within my comfort range, we added an additional amp to power the rest of my speakers, and he made some adjustments to my existing bass control knob. Holy wow, my car sounds amazing! This is the system I've been waiting for my whole life, it's not just the bass, it's the clarity and the quality of the sound too. I was so happy we brought my daughters car back in for her birthday to get her a system, which also sounds amazing. John gave me a quote over the phone and made me an appointment the next morning. I was expecting it to be in a week or so. Which would not of mattered to me since he was highly recommended. I waited in the lobby while my car was getting done. It was only a couple hours. Everyone was nice and friendly. Very professional place. Good service but....No one where's masks. Had subs tuned and desired and they ended up puncturing my radiator hose and claimed they just get old... was not like that b4. (Fuse box right next to my radiator hose) Wouldn't risk getting anything else messed up on your car or at least take pictures or videos of your under your car hood etc before dropping it off. read more

After recently purchasing a 2016 Honda CRV, preowned, I went to discount auto tunes to upgrade my stereo/navigation system to Apple play. I was told I would lose the camera on the right side of the vehicle. I was not told that I would lose other functionality. I have have the new system in my car for approximately two weeks and every time I turn around I find other functionality that was lost. When I contact the shop, they basically tell me nothing they can do that's the way it is. Had I known that I would lose as much functionality as I had I probably would not have spent the money. I'm sure this place is great if all you want to do is upgrade your stereo system and your speakers. If you have a nice vehicle with some nice bells and whistle's I would suggest going somewhere else, I wish I did. read more

I paid over 2K installation and for custom sub box work, that they didn't do- but they gave me a cookie cutter knock off sub-box instead. Speaker wires were not reconnected right, signal wires improperly installed (humming noise) new amp blew 3 weeks later,. Owner got paid, so he made excuses for his lack of corrective action and NEVER took responsibility for his mistakes and quickly moved on to potential new victims!
