Today's art walk show the one of the largest art shows you couldn't park at there was no parking signs. The greatest way that I had traveled by was to take the trolley from the National city 24thst trolley station. For a great Sunday this was one day there was no rain when I had arrived at the Little Italy Trolley Station I saw the many tents coming down the streets. Looking up the street from the station I could see the many artists taking the walk up the street being met by the art show greeters they showed me the map of the art show with the many artists that used acrylics to oils to the use of collages. With the walk around the many areas of the art show the many eateries and the creative deserts and the cookies . The one of the greatest things you can have at art show is some of the best music groups that did mellow rock and roll and some of the best female artists from the momma's and the papa's. The great selection that went on for many blocks that parts of the art walk went up or down the side streets seeing the many local artists and the many students that were at the show on scholarship. As a Yelp Elite and the many pictures that I had seen and the great artists the many wonderful art pieces and the many great art pieces created by so many beautiful pieces. As a Yelp Elite this is one of the greatest shows that showcased so much there were people surprised in the size. The main roads close down and are filled with artists booths up and down Little Italy's corridors. It's safe to walk in the middle of the road. I don't recommend anyone planning to be DD to go or for you to have a DD. It's so much fun since this is an all you can drink, i mean... try.., event to not have to worry about driving. Use Uber, Lyft, or taxi it like us! or get dropped off if you have an awesome friend like that. But... if you did insist on bringing a car, the parking lots nearby ranged from $10 - $13 to park for 8 hours+ I believe. It cost the four of us $25 to get to the festival from La Jolla. Entry: We got there at 2, when it started, and waited in line for about 20 minutes to get in. It was smooth getting in. We were given plastic cups though because the Port Authorities didn't want the festival to hand out glass cups to soon-to-be drunkies. But, to be honest, the "glass" cups given to us after the festival were verrrrrrry disappointing. BEEEEEERS: Oh man. I was expecting the amount of beer options there were here. San Diego has one of the most microbreweries in the nation. I wish they had more small buckets or water station though so you can cleanse your cup and your palette. Food: Please get more food! I know we're here to drink beer but I would've been so down to buy snacks, pretzels, fooood, or something! We only saw 5 - 6 food option, and one taco place sold out an hour before closing :( Atmosphere: So awesome! We met so many nice people. I had no expectations on what kind of crowd this festival will attract. This is definitely not the college, let's get shit-faced type of atmosphere, which is awesomeeeeee! Price: Around $40 for 3 hours of all the beers you can try. GREAT :) Also, there weren't very long lines in any of the tables so don't worry about wasting your time with that! Venue: The weather was perfect which made the venue even MORE perfect. It is right by the water and there's a mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces. It is so spacious that you won't feel like people are constantly bumping it to you so don't worry if you think you'll get cluster-phobic. Come again? YES... obviously! TIP: Make pretzel necklaces! Look it up on google. It is such a GENIUS idea that I am going to be so pumped with my huge tasty pretzel necklace next year.

So more about the 4 food vendors, what was ridiculous was one offered soup and ran out halfway into the event...another one offered hummus with carrots both were on the lighter side when paired with alcohol consumption. The heavier foods that were served...potato rolled tacos and pasta. I couldn't believe the pasta vendor was actually being stingy with their food when folks wanted seconds trying to saturate themselves (smh). As a result, I gave only two stars...one star for the venue and one star for the fun time despite the food situation.

The music is a mostly a mixture of EDM and techno pop. Of course the food and drinks are overpriced, but you're a victim of circumstance. Why does a beer cost $18? Anyway, I had a great time yesterday and really enjoyed Empire of the Sun, Saturday's closing act. Good stuff!

Wowzer... did not realize reviews could be written for music festivals!…read more Having been to CRSSD since Fall 2017 and the following spring and fall CRSSDs after, this is hands down one of my top favorite festivals that I would always return to. Why? Curated Music: If you're a house and techno fan, CRSSD always brings in the hottest talent. There are 3 stages: 1 devoted to house, 1 for techno and 1 main stage that is geared towards live performances/live music. Don't see a DJ you recognized? It's ok. I discovered so many new artists from this event and highly recommend exploring new music. Logistics: For someone out of state, getting to and from CRSSD is a smooth process. Located at the waterfront, there's plenty of hotels that are walking distance. There are late night eats in Little Italy if you're hungry after the fest. Also, felt pretty safe walking around the area at night outside the venue, so that's a +1 there. Food/Drinks: Great selection! There's a range of different cuisines with good portions of food at the typical festival prices. My favorite would have to be the yummy cocktails, draft beers and the pizza! Rules: Make sure you check out the website! One thing that makes CRSSD a bit different from other festivals is that rave attire is highly discouraged and is stated in the rules. If you need ideas for attire, people usually go in comfy clothes to Coachella fashion. Vibes: Most of the time and depending on who's playing, vibes here are pretty chill. For super popular DJs - expect the crowd to be a hit or miss as some people can be a bit pushy / rude. Production Value: Don't expect lasers or crazy effects. Most of the magic here happens with the music, so just enjoy the moment. Weather: If you're going in spring, expect slightly cold/rainy/humid conditions. For fall, it's usually pretty sun and hot during the day and at night, can be pretty comfy temps to slightly chilly. Finally, merchandise: If you're a fan of buying merch, highly recommend coming in as early as you can. Popular merch (ex: House x Techno bomber) jackets can easily sell out on the first day in a few hours.

Elite Experience: La Jolla Concurs D'Elegance…read more Was delighted to attend this years Elite Experience La Jolla Concurs D'Elegance all thanks so very much to Yelp and Hannah. The evening before and the morning of this event it rained in La Jolla. I was concerned about a cancellation but the weather cleared up and it was a sunshiny day. This was the third time attending and the usual parade of cars were on display; mainly Ferraris and Porsches. This time I wanted to view some rare collections of mint vintages: Aston Martins, Alpha Romeo, Jaguar, Ford. And the superhyper sportscars: Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani to name a few. Took pics to memorialize these collections and posted the bulk of this pics under La Jolla Concurs on Yelp, as I had posted years prior. The event was crowded with people before noon. Yelp comped my tickets for the general admission, which had a live performance band that played cool popular music. There were very few food and drink vendors NOT gratis which was a disappointment. The previous events I've attended which were not sponsored by Yelp Elite were in the VIP entrance and offered more food drinks complementary gratis and had more entertainment. The Concurs D'Elegance is held here in La Jolla around this time annually but does make the circuit to my beloved place in Beverly Hills on Father's Day as well as Pebble Beach in September. Pebble Beach is the absolute best of the three. Such spectacular event to see over 500 vehicles on display. Took pics of the most extraordinary but not all 500 so I spared you the carpal tunnel on your fingers. I brought a friend along as well as my furbaby Fendi who was dressed in a Tutu. We enjoyed the stroll along our usual daily walks paths but this time it was lined up with super cool cars. This event attracted all ages, where you're a car enthusiast or not. Cool knows Cool and this was a Cool Yelp Elite Experience!!

The music program seems enough to satisfy even the pickiest of people (4 stages packed with different musicians), but other aspects of the "New Orleans experience" were lacking. They only had three cooking demonstrations for the entire day, and the one I wanted to go to on making jambalaya was canceled for no apparent reason. And they were missing New Orleans drinks: Nowhere to be had were hurricanes, mint juleps, sazeracs, cafe au lait (coffee). There was little informative about Mardi Gras culture and the bathroom situation was wanting: in the afternoon those portable hand washing stations lacked water and hand towels. I just think to myself there's a lot on offer in San Diego that's free - like Lunar New Year Festivals, which I went to earlier in the year. Completely free to go and sometimes free parking, as well, so if you're going to pay $90 for Gator by the Bay it better be a damn good experience all around.

Located in the middle of Balboa Park, West of El Prado, you'll find this small little museum filled with one or two pieces of work, from each of the 7 artists. Since there's only approximately 15-20 pieces, you'll likely get through here in 30 mins or so. When I visited several days ago, the museum was FREE, as long as you provided them with your zip code. That may mean that it's only free for locals, so you might want to call ahead. It's great to see an art space showcasing local collegiate talent. If you're already heading to, or visiting Balboa Park, it's worth a free visit. Enjoy!

One art museum that has been open to the Balboa park that is free to the general public it's one of the best museums that is two levels which located on the Broadway of the park that you can walk to. For the many museums which have gift shops the ICA ART Museum is one that is to the artists showing the art works and the visual displays they have. Being welcomed at the front door as person first time there they gave me a visual display and walk through of the museum for the artist they on display has many pieces that shows the world's weather through shapes and color . For the ICA Museum is one that has great ambiance and the showing of art that you don't sed the retail store. The Art Museum of the ICA is one that is more relaxed with the many that work their are welcoming the museum has an up and coming artist with the great art pieces. From the many museums that are at Balboa Park from the Tomlin which are free to the Public. I saw the event on the Event section on Yelp and could not resist to learn something about the methode Champagnoise...after all I come from the 'cava land' (the Catalan 'champagne' which I think tastes even better than the famous French denomination of origin spirits:) and I must learn the lingo! So some friend and I signed up (after all, there are people whose Sunday afternoon is not necessarily spent on the beach!) and went there with open mind and eager to learn. And we did. Ed and Carrie Little, the instructors, did a great job in providing materials, on screen presentation, real demo and, hey, free tasting after all! We were around 15 people and we all had so much fun. My group consisting in 2 Spaniards, 1 Italo-Spaniard, 1 Chinese and 1 Korean were the most novice. The rest seemed to be already experienced in the bubbling drink preparations. Now I now after the fermentation phases, the ridding, the disgorging and the dosage, plus the various names the champagne bottles have, coming from the Bible! (so interesting anecdote, at least for us!). Also that the bottle neck is bigger here than in the European bottles (don't we do everything bigger after all?). Lots of learning, demo of utensils that are handy for the champagne making process (and that you can buy at the store) and tasting of some of the bottles from the Little couple. Awesome day, tons of parking, learning space located just next to the store. Thanks!
