I got an old car alarm taken out and a new one I bought from then installed. They didn't know what they were doing! It took them 6 hours (while I waited) for the alarm to be installed. They had to work past closing time. They said it would only take 2 hrs! When I tried to use the remote start the next day my car would not start! I would up having to have my car towed to the dealer since the alarm place employees didn't know what they were doing. The dealer repair shop had to rip out the new $400 and reinstall another new alarm $400 again. I never got a refund and they didn't try to remedy their mistake. I will never return. I have had several work done on my cars with Avenue Sound. I am very picky and some say anal about what I need and purchase. I don't mind fairly paying for things but I want to be taken care of. Vic, Richie and the rest of the staff has always treated me with respect and professionalism. Their installations are done professionally. I would recommend speaking to vick to make sure you get what you pay for. Vick after moving forward with the information you supplied me the film was removed but it was a headache because the authorized 3m dealer said the film they removed was not 3m film. That being said i'm just trying to look out for future Avenue Sound customer people deserve to get what they pay for. Also just like you told me you where not working there at the time of my install. I had my smart start interlock installed here @ Avenue Sound in Freeport. When I first went there everyone was nice especially Jose and Jason. Then I had The misfortune of bringing it in for calibration with the owner Nick! He messed with it and brought it back to its original breathing level, when a Judge ordered it to be lowered due to my health. How dare he mess with someone's life!!! He was offended that I went there when I was sick with pneumonia! TOTAL A$$ Because of him I had to go back twice in one week, because he was a total jerk, not putting my appointment into the computer! My second time there, when I walked in he shouted "Did you take the mouthpiece out!? Then I had problem! Stay away from this place, there are many places to go for interlock. My PO heard from Smart Start interlock 2 times and was told "it is not at the low-level it is supposed to be! He did this Nick, the little guy with the Napoleon complex messed with the calibration! 25 minutes to start my car, almost landed me in the hospital, that's how I got violation after violations. I was greeted on the phone by a man that invited me to come down in person so that we could go over my options. I have had all my cars tinted here, installed new head units to adding touchscreen Navigation units. I worked with Antonio, Chris and the owner Vick. Honestly, I continue to come back to these guys because there work is done right the first time and they treat me like I want to be treated which is key for me. I decided to update on my previous review post. 11/23/2014 I decided to upgrade the previous system installed by Avenue Sound on 08/31/2014 from a Viper VSS5000 with Smart Start to a Viper 5706 with Smart Start on my 2007 Lexus is250. This install all though it took longer than expected was done with perfection. They did an excellent job handling all the kinks within the install process. They assisted me in addressing all concerns unassosiated with the Remote/Alarm install with no additional cost. They were very good at explaining all the features the vehicle would and wouldn't have including features that could have been added during the installation process. Although this install took longer than expected my end resulted in a perfect install. They have improved substantially from my previous review in August and I would recommend installing any alarm at this location. Any of the at this location do a great job in explaining any concerns. Vik the manager will lie to your face. They messed up my tints. Took no responsibility, and I had to pay to fix their mistake. Each salesman gives you a different story on which tint your getting. After they messed up my car, and I had to repay to get it fix, he made it sound like his doing me a favor. Cost me $300 and 5 hours to tint an Accord. Take your business elsewhere, you can get the same product at the same or even better price else where. read more

I purchased a new car radio/CD player from Avenue Sound. When I got home, I had a question whether the installed unit was used. Return to the store the next day and told Vic about my observation. He looked at the paperwork, immediately said I was correct and apologized for the mistake. He offered me a discount on the installed unit or a new replacement. I chose a new unit, which he immediately installed in thirty minutes. He walked me through some of the unit's features and apologized again for the error. This place is a scam. I would not purchase another piece of electronics from this place ever again. It is extremely overpriced and the service was not only horrendous, but they do not care about keeping their customers. I had purchased a radio outside of the place and brought it to them to install. After about a month and a half, the radio stopped working. I opened up the back and saw the mess of wires they left hanging behind. I brought it to them to check and they told me I would need a new radio. They charged me 50 bucks to check it and told me to get another one. I purchased a new radio, same model and everything, and it received the same problem. I brought the radio back a second time to tell them of the problem again and they looked into it. They saw a wire had become loose and fixed the radio. It sounded like they didn't even check the problem the first time, which they charged me 50 dollars for. They were so quick to try and make a quick sale off of it. Another problem arose with the radio a few months after. They told me to purchase an adapter for the antenna from the dealer that would fix the problem that cost upwards of 250 dollars. It did not solve the problem. This place does not know their ass from their elbow when it comes to radios! I'm at almost a 400 dollar loss and currently without a working radio. read more

My experience with Avenue sound started when I called Parkway Car Stereo. I was looking for a remote start to give to my gf as a birthday gift. They were very short, rude, and non negotiable on anything on the phone so I was immediately turned off. I then called Avenue sound and was welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable person on the phone that urged me to come in and see all the different options and prices I could choose from. Fast forwarding to the installation process I told them I needed it done as soon as possible because I snuck my gfs car out to get it installed and they understood completely and the entire installation was done in under 3 hours. I had a custom install job I wanted done, and from all the research I did, it looked like a colossal pain in the butt. The Subaru dealer I usually go to for service recommended Avenue Sound. After having the work done, I can see why! They have a very clean showroom with a comfortable waiting area (couches and TV's). After a few hours, they let me know the work was done. Looking at my car, you couldn't tell that my setup was aftermarket-that's how clean the install was! TL;DR - Excellent and professional job. Very good price (including free dynamatted trunk.) Friendly and informative staff (look out for Antonio). Would Avenue Sound again. Being new to Long Island, I didn't know where to go to have a subwoofer installed in my car. Thanks to the reviews on Google+, I decided to swing by Avenue Sound. I knew exactly which components I wanted, so it was really only a matter of price and installation quality - and so I walked in armed with the knowledge of how little I could get the system I wanted online. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the price they wanted (for the components only - no installation) was almost the same as what it would cost to buy it online (when factoring in shipping). After some negotiation, they offered to do the job for the price of the amp, subwoofer, and a few hours of labor. But what really sold me was when they threw in all other components (wiring, fuse, LOC, remote bass knob, ect) *and* a fully Dynomatted trunk free of charge (including the material and labor). The specific subwoofer I wanted came in both a sealed and ported enclosure - I wanted the sealed and, unfortunately, they only had the ported in stock. Rather than see me walk, they offered to install the ported subwoofer, and then the following week, if I still wanted the sealed, I could go back and they would swap once the sealed box arrived. I was actually happy about this as I got to try them both. I also wanted to mention how friendly the staff were. I specifically dealt with Antonio, so be sure to look for him if you go! I am the kind of curious guy who can be quite annoying with how many questions I have, so I was happy that Antonio humored me with my barrage of questions. He gave me a nice breakdown of all the settings and features on my new amp. The waiting area is not bad either. I actually took a nap on the couches watching the news. As far as my system goes, I could not be happier. They did an excellent job. I have had the system for well over a month now, and I haven't any problems. The Dynamat job they did was excellent as well. Absolutely no rattles. I did feel very welcome there, and I will not hesitate to go back if I have any problems. Actually, I am going there later this week to have a backup camera installed. P.S. Just wanted to add that the install took a little longer than they had said it would, but such is nature of any work auto-related. I would rather they take their time and do it right! I would plan on waiting a bit longer than they estimate just in case. read more
