There's an area for younger kids, and an area for older kids; and both sections have robust options. (That's not always the case!) There's also ample shade here. I cannot stress how delightful that is, especially in the summer. There's an area of musical instruments, which I've seen at a handful of other playgrounds, but, again, it's in pretty great shape here. The sand area is relatively clean. At least for now! It's also close to downtown in case you have any errands you need to do on your way.

I would suggest that parents definitely watch smaller kids on some of the structures so they don't hurt themselves. There's a structure with rolling pieces and I would definitely see a kid falling and hurting themselves or getting a finger pinched while moving across. The swingset has swings for different stages and abilities which I love. People form the community gave back to build this wonderful park and it's a great addition to the neighborhood. Be careful walking across the street. The multiple stop signs make drivers impatient and they speed up almost as if to scare you out of the way, despite rushing to another stop sign.

There are separate areas for swings, a small area for the sprinklers during hot days and plenty of benches to sit. Next to the playground is more flat, green areas. A beautiful, clean park with a large pond in the center filled with ducks and geese. It is an ideal…read morespot to sit and eat your take away meal as long as the thought of throngs of water fowl marching towards you like the walking dead doesn't intimidate you. Here is a tip: We sat by the gazebo one lovely morning as all ducks and geese came towards us. We did not feed them, but soon after a gentleman that seems to be a regular (there always seem to be friendly regulars feeding the ducks) came to a nearby bench and begin tossing them some bread. We swiftly moved to the other side of the pond and enjoyed our breakfast unmolested as the gentleman feed and occupied all the ducks and geese across the pond. Of course we had a couple of stragglers that didn't go along with the crowd, but much less than the gang of 100 or so on the other side. Not a place to seek out since it is on the smallish side, but if you are in the area and looking for a peaceful spot it will do perfectly.

The birds and ducks are always cute so that is one plus. There is supposed to be a walking trail, but I tried walking it a couple of times to find it quite short and not much of a trail. There is a playground as well, but I have no experience with that part of the pond. And if you sit at the benches near the parking lot, chances you'll catch second hand cigarette smoke from the old guys who sit in their cars all day most days.

Truely an oasis for kids in the summer and just steps from the beach. So glad I found this place…read moreand this has made an awesome summer spot for my 6 year old. Not only large jungle gyms but the water sprinklers are great to wash off the sand from the beach and the water comes from pipes in the design structure rather than shooting up from the ground--big plus and much more sanitary! Only bone to pick is the accumulation of trash from the amount of folks frequenting this popular playground--my sister had to literally push what looked like the carcass of a fish off of the main pathway next to the sprinklers as so many folks just walked pass it/over it and some kids mindlessly play stepped on it. Also, there is a shower feature once you exist the boardwalk from the beach. It it is gross with a stream of green looking runoff from folks using it; doesn't look like it's maintained and can probably make you sick if you fell on it or stepped in it. I suggest just going to the sprinklers in the playground to wash off the sand.
