This beach park is big, the website boasts over 60 acres of land. Since this is a beach slap on the sunscreen and soak up those rays, vitamin deficient folks will have no problem producing more vitamin D as the sun is scorching! There are open and covered picnic areas for you to barbecue. I think these areas require a permit and a fee and are only available to residents of the town. The beach has at least 2 life guards at every marked swimming area and these guys and gals do their job, so people please swim within the flags! Food options are limited and the concession stand is only opened on the weekends, the prices are fairly reasonable. The beach park is pet friendly and they provide baggies at certain stations so you can clean up after your pooch. There is a fee for parking $15 for residents and $20 if you're not a resident. A great place to spend a weekday or weekend to get away from the heat or just hang.

The parked is pleasant and offers a lot for those that enter. The new picnic table are very inviting with enough to set a grill and barbeque. The have volleyball, basketball, handball, bike riding and the pool is a sight to see. The have a membership for the pool and guest can accompany the resident of the town. They have a huge parking lot with handicap parking, a museum across the street. The staff are friendly and the speak to you as well. It really is a nice park to visit, oh! and you can people watch if you are into that.

There's also a pool area but I believe it is for Hempstead residents only. There are some baseball fields that are utilized mainly by summer and Little League teams across the street from the pool. There's also a self-pitch batting cage that is open to the public. It's fun if you have someone who can throw straight balls so you can actually hit them. My brother is not one of these people as evidenced by the bruises along my arm, leg, and hip area. I usually only come here to play some pick up basketball but the courts are a bit uneven and when it rains, the water collects easily and leaves puddles all over the place. The only downside about Rath is that it shuts down at sunset, so there is no midnight basketball available for the gym rats. However, I did circumvent this by climbing the fence with a friend and playing some full-court 1-on-1 past 9pm without any night lights. We had to stop every once in a while because there were park keepers and popos driving by but for the most part we were gravy. The other downside that I must mention is that some of the kids in the area are obnoxiously immature and they tend to frequent this park at all times, day or night, so that may hinder the overall fun had depending upon proximity to these little rascals. I don't think there is a solution to that except better parenting but that doesn't seem to be a priority for some in the area.

There's a good size playground for younger and older children, including swings, slides and monkey bars as well as a big sandbox with 2 excavators. Not to mention, there are tons of trucks, cars, walkers and ride-on toys for the younger children to play with. Sprinklers are turned on during the summer (don't forget your kid's bathing suit and towel). Where the bathrooms are located at inside the community room, there's a billiard and ping pong table, a water fountain and vending machines for your convenience. Next to the playground, there's a basketball and tennis court, where you can also play handball, badminton and volleyball. This park could get a bit crowded during summer camp times but it isn't too bad.

This park is unbelievably quaint yet clean. It is tucked in a corner of a neighborhood and having…read morenatural borders on three edges adds a higher sense of security. The playground equipment is relatively new with great colors and characters. My nephew was having a ball running around. It's also wonderful to be able to see a soccer field from the toddlers' playground. It makes it easy to watch older kids play from one convenient location. Thankfully, parking was very easy to access which is such a benefit when there are little ones who are quick to scurry. Plus, traffic is relatively controlled so fast cars aren't swerving by. The only thing I cannot comment on is the state of the bathroom. I didn't have a chance to enter it therefore I have to deduct a star for that unknown element. Overall, I highly recommend this park for all families and adults young at heart.

This means you do not hear any cars, you do not see people walking by, there is no noise, ad the park hardly ever gets crowded because of this. Is this a plus or what! Besides this the park is FREE. The grounds are VERY WELL kept, there is never garbage around, the grass is beautiful, and the best is the park is on the water! What parks around here sit on the bay with the view of boats and the bay? The bathrooms are open, basketballs, tennis, softball, kids play area, shuffle board, and the park even has the equipment to lend you. There are people fishing in the far end which is nice to watch.

I work near the park and since Covid hit I've been attending nightly AA meetings here with my dad until more in person meetings open up. I've also bought my son here to play. The park has many options, a small nature trail and lake to walk on. I've found my first and only geocache so far here. Two playground sessions, a basketball and handball court. For my first visit during my lunch break today because I'm going later for a meeting I went into the office to drop off letters to Santa that my son and my nephew wrote. There's an ice skating rink as well. It's a pretty decent sized park. If you want a park with many options this is one to check out.

I don't use them but there are plenty of sporting areas to use. Tennis, soccer, baseball and I believe there are even indoor basketball courts. There's a playground for the kids as well as an area to BBQ with tables and benches as well as grills already there. There's also a lake here and a trail that goes not quite around the lake or the park but it's a decent trail. I always see folks fishing here as well.
