I came to Eisenhower Park to come eat the loot my homie and I got from Stew Leonard's. What a legendary grocery store that is. As we sat in the midst of this park digging into our pizza, smashburgers, and chicken, there was a group of 11 65+ year old ladies sitting in their sun blocking chairs just living life enjoying each others company. I've lived enough life to know that no amount of money or individual success could replace a strong, core group of friends like that. I was gonna take a picture from a distance but thought that would be a selfish endeavor, so I'm writing this review instead. Also, I must shout out Dwight D. Eisenhower. I'm balls deep in a WWII obsession right now, and he went from a 5-star general leading the Allied victory over the Germans to being the leader of the free world 7 years later. Iconic career path. This is way more than your regular park. It is a complete experience for anything that interests you... Golf, tennis, swimming, lakeside theatre. This place is awesome. Don't forget all their picnic areas and of course the most magnificent golf can be played here. Three amazing courses here. Most people don't realize that this park is larger than Central Park. It is huge! The park is so well maintained and very easy to travel through. It can get extremely busy when there are special events happening here, like the World Cricket Cup or major concert at the Harry Chapin Theater. To summarize: - 14 lighted tennis courts and 2 Pickleball courts - Long Island's premier Northwell Health Ice Center consists of two - indoor, NHL-sized skating rinks, as well as one outdoor rink. - Athletic fields, several lighted for night play, include 14 ballfields, 2 cricket fields and two football fields. - The park's world-class Nassau County Aquatic Center includes a fitness center (Leisure Pass and fee required). - There is one full-court basketball court, outfitted with new fiberglass backboards. Maybe I'm a little spoiled from living in South Florida, but I was pretty disappointed with Eisenhower Park. In the summer, you'd expect more opportunities for kids to swim, but in order to access the pools, you either have to be a resident of the City of Hempstead or pay an outrageous fee of about $20 per person--which seems excessive for a public pool. They do have a splash pad, but that's really all it is--a splash pad. The water was extremely cold, so it wasn't much fun for the kids. The park itself is large and nice enough, but finding all the different areas was really difficult and confusing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Eisenhower Park if you're looking for a family-friendly pool day with your kids. It might be fine to visit on your own, but unless you're a local resident, it just doesn't feel worth the cost or effort. read more

Entertainment was performed on Sunday August 3, 2025, at 6PM (1800) by the 42nd Infantry Division Band, NY Army National Guard, at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park East Meadow NY, to an audience of which many family members were in attendance. Their Rainbow Division signifies many things including as the many colors of the rainbow, the diversity of the individuals encompassed in the band and the many places they perform. Veterans saluted and others placed their hands over their hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The the Star-Spangled Banner was sung. Besides the full band performing were 3 music teams for small ensembles. The Conductors consisted of Commander Ethan Wagner (CW2), Assistant Conductor SGT Steven Foti, Brass Quintet SGT Victoria Boell, Pop Band SSG Malorie Meyer and Brass Band SFC Anthony Wevers. John Williams, a great man from Flushing Queens NY, who served in the US Airforce, is an American composer, conductor, instrumentalist, musician and currently pianist "Modern Olympics a Piano Concerto" well known for composing movie soundtracks as Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET and many more. He was acknowledged with a version of "The Cowboys". The Brass Quartet played America the Beautiful. Other songs that were played or sung were: Call Me (theme from American Gigolo) Song by Blondie, Glen Miller, In the Mood and Londonderry Air, the original Iris song before lyrics of "Danny boy". (It was noted that if you wish to contact them to check on Social Media) "The bands' role: to bolster morale, commemorate sacrifice, and bring communities together in moments of remembrance and pride" was a successful mission this evening. read more

From a pond surrounding memorial of 9/11 to the veterans memorials from each one of the wars the US has participated in since the Vietnam war. I love the vibe of this park. It's bright and friendly. I come here often just to walk. Been coming here my whole life, actually. Loads of people always playing soccer and baseball, cricket (even), football or just jogging. There's a cool pond with turtles, an amphitheater, a war memorial, playgrounds, two houses for some reason, an ice rink, a pool, soda machines, lots of clean bathrooms, a few tennis and pickle ball courts, squirrels, benches and trees. The Best of All was an employee (Kathy) driving a golf cart who saw how far we the elderly had to walk and drove us to and from the parking lot. Beautiful and sprawling park located in East Meadow, LI. I was here to run a 5K race recently and could not believe how much there is to see and do. Multiple baseball parks and sports fields, pool, cricket area, basketball courts, children's playgrounds everywhere, golf course and clubhouse, bathrooms throughout, aquatic center, tennis courts, fitness center, fitness trail to jog or walk, miniature golf, batting cages, picnic areas, a restaurant and bar, bocci ball court, and so much more. For entertainment the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is an outdoor theater which during summer offers concerts to movies. It's always great to get in touch with nature and I am very fortunate to work across the street from Eisenhower Park. Sometimes on my lunch break I go to the park and sit in my car and relax and take in the all the beauty and nature and go for walks weather permitting. This park has much to offer everyone and is very large. I like see the changes in the seasons, spring, summer and fall are my favorites, winter is a little too cold for me. There are many squirrels always running around and some are quite fat because there is a lot to eat for them especially in the garbage bins. They have many events through the year and is such a nice park to visit and I am very grateful I work so close and can visit especially throughout the pandemic which has been helpful. In our 30 years in Long Island, we have used this park countless times. Since I retired, it is a favorite spot for shooting photos in the spring and, especially, the Fall. There is more than adequate parking, although I usually prefer the lot next to the driving range - the others make you turn your neck 270 degrees to see oncoming traffic. Long Island has been involved in every war since the Revolutionary, and the Memorial Park is a beautiful spot to highlight the fallen. A separate area by the pond is laid out for September 11. Other features in the park are an olympic swimming structure, an ice rink, rose gardens, tennis courts, a golf course and, of course, rest rooms. I've been to occasions at the Harry Chapin Theater, and the July fireworks shows are magnificent. In the summer you may be checked to be sure that you live in Nassau County. read more

One of the largest parks in Long Island, Eisenhower Park is truly a great place to spend some down time to relax and play. After attending an event last weekend, we brought our little girl here to enjoy the playground and to make some new friends. Everyone we encountered was having a nice time and did as we had- watched their children pass the time on one of the last warm days of the Autumn. The playground was in good repair and there were tons of open picnic tables to partake in a lunch or enjoy an ice cream sold by the trucks on site. With nearly 1000 acres, there is space for whatever you want to do. Go to the driving range to brush up on your golf skills or play ball or take a run. Packed with people but they had a clear area on the right side below the huge flat screen showing the band were people can dance. Definitely a family friendly place to go to. Bring your chair and snacks. No alcohol. They also had 2 food vendors and a tent where you could purchase band items. What an awesome time I had. First time at the park. Also first time hearing Eli Young Band. They were phenomenal. So much talent. The entire band was fabulous. I danced my butt off for 2hrs. Some people come up to me complementing me on my light up sneakers and some joined me to dance. All around friendly people. Numerous cops where also there to keep things in order. It was a chill event. No drama at all. Just loads of fun. Parking was easy and exiting after the show was also very easy. No traffic. I've been enjoying Eisenhower Park for 60yrs. I purposely drive thru at every opportunity I can. But frankly, the park is beginning to look like t circus is in town rather than a naturalist, relaxed public space. Soooo many high chain-linked fences obstructing walking paths for visitors walking or biking alike. Areas have been dug up for months and left in large mud or huge dirt patches. The Park should serve as a nature refuge location without obstructions that don't belong in this beautiful park. As a county taxpayer, our park should be for park goers, nature lovers seeking a peaceful respite. I'm praying this Spring, Summer and Fall will prove to be different and better. read more

I had a wonderful afternoon at the Ice Center here. I actually drove through most of the park before finding it. The park is large and offers many things: baseball fields, theater, golf course, a pond, and trails. I pass by here all the time. The ice rink is a good size. I hear the Islanders practice here. The music selection is good, and there is ample parking. It's a great family friendly place. I even witnessed a small child throw a tantrum and refuse to remove her ice skates because she was having such a great time! During the afternoon we were at the rink, it was not too crowded. One of my friends does not know how to ice skate and we were able to go around the edge of the rink without any issues. They even have a Snoopy and Woodstock inflatable zamboni in the hall. Over all a great experience... just wish it was easier to navigate through the park. (It's huge!) In the spring and summer there is an open pond, and a veteran's memorial. It's a nice place to walk about and a great setting for some nice photos for the family. There are ducks on the pond. They also host events like movie nights and July 4th fireworks here. Overall a great place to visit. Just be careful of the mosquitoes! I was attacked by one unsuspectingly. There is a small rose garden too. Great place to spend the day outdoors. If you grow tired of walking there are plenty of park benches. read more

The review is for the Veterans Memorial Park . I have been passing this park for so many times but never get the opportunity to explore its entirety. Tonight, I got the chance but the short visit was not enough to fully enjoy it. I promised myself to go back on daylight. There are many displays and signs about the war that kept me occupied. Dedication memorial is beautiful. The pond down the hill is serene. I want to go back especially on summertime. The Christmas decors added wonder to the place. There were performing groups during our visit. I heard so many good things about the place and the Yelper reviews testifies it's a recommended place to go. I will be back Mr Eisenhower ! read more

I grew up in Nassau County and I still spend a lot of time in the area and visiting this park, recently I realized much has changed but it still is home to me. What's unique about this park is that it features a lot of different options of things to do on the grounds it also is home to The Carltun( formal venue for weddings and classy events) as well as the golf course. Recently they've added new additions including a mini golf course, batting cages, a baseball field, track and new playground. There are in total about 4 different children's playgrounds here. I have come here often to work out and to take my daughter out to play. This is a great park for bike riding and fitness lots of space and lots of shade ! There's also a lot of open picnic space to grill and dine. The keep the grounds here and restrooms very clean and I appreciate that. What I did not appreciate recently was the multitude of loud music playing from multiple events going on, one that I actually thought was a concert but it was someone's Baby shower ! We all come to Relax with family and enjoy the outdoors not to go home with a migraine and deaf ears. read more

Yesterday, I attended a luncheon at The Lannin. The food was delicious. I had the filet mignon and it was tender, flavorful and cooked to my preference- medium rare. The cheesecake for desert was yummy and the coffee was good, too. The staff was amazing. Our water glasses were constantly filled, our napkins constantly folded and we were constantly asked if we needed anything. Even the valet parking was very efficient! I love the paved ways for 5ks they have & short marathons, training, biking, etc etc. They have a lovely memorial there as well as rose gardens. Frequently go to Eisenhower Park for various activities - there's the golf range, mini-golf course, tennis courts, picnic area, baseball/softball field. There is also a full golf course as well. Parking is $10/car during the busy season (around May through Columbus Day) and for any special events like concerts. Come here to play tennis with friends and the cost is about $7/hour for a court during the busy season and lights come up at dark til around 9pm one can play. During the off season, there are no lights in the tennis courts at night. There are 16 tennis courts. Mini-golf is ok...a bit outdated but tried it once. Make sure to have insect repellent if you don't want to be mosquito food. There is also walking path/trail and the park is also used for 3K/5K runs around.. very big. A lil bit of Central Park in Nassau County...OK that may be an exaggeration but it's a nice green space. I like to walk around the lake for exercise, enjoy watching the cute duck couples and turtles sunning themselves on little wire platforms. Sadly my tiny well behaved canine fur-baby isn't allowed to stroll with me there (he's too fragile for the dog park and I don't see the need to segregate species anyway). I tried to walk him there, leashed and with poop bag ready, and a well armed police officer sternly told me to skedaddle immediately. Yessir!
