Ever since I first moved in, I have had ongoing issues with my neighbor blasting loud music late at night and early in the morning, usually between 10 PM and 1 AM. This was not a one-time issue -- it has been happening since day one. Under the previous management, Eric was always respectful and helpful. He personally came out, confirmed that the loud music was coming from the unit on the other side of my wall, and addressed it with them. Since the new management took over, everything has gotten worse. Mia from the office has been extremely difficult to deal with. Every interaction feels rushed, pushy, and dismissive, as if helping residents is an inconvenience. I have personally seen her be impatient and rude to other tenants as well. One time, I witnessed a new tenant asking for help finding their mailbox, and instead of being welcoming, she came off irritated and dismissive. The tenant literally just shook his head and walked away. What really pushed me to leave this review is the fact that after repeatedly reporting the same noise issue, I ended up receiving a complaint accusing me of "harassing" my neighbor. That made no sense to me when the music was loud enough for me to hear the lyrics clearly through the wall and even feel the wall vibrate. Management and security have done a poor job maintaining peace in this community. Residents deserve to be treated with respect and have legitimate concerns taken seriously. Affordable housing should never mean lower standards of professionalism or basic human decency. If management cannot handle something as basic as ongoing noise complaints, I would seriously think twice before applying here.

They actually cleaned the place up Now due to the Property Management there has been items that still have not been taken care of 1) Replacement of carpet-they cheaply cleaned around the furniture.This carpet is disgusting and might possibly contain black mold. I have asked for replacement of the carpet several times (nothing) This is a health hazard for me because I am on disability for severe asthma, I am breathing in whatever nastiness is in this carpet 2) Reserved parking space- there are so many reserve spaces that those of who live and pay rent on time have no where to park I have had my doctor write a letter regarding a reserve space twice (this never happened) 3) Mismanagement (by Avanath) of my money-October rent was $1209 This check cleared my bank on 10/4/24. I receive late notice informing me that my rent is late and I owe $1385!!!! I called my bank they verified Avanath cashed the check at 4:30am (at that time there was $900 in my account, the following morning I deposited $500 Avanath did not send the check back through I have kept ALL documentation pertaining to their poor mishandling of my (once a month income) I am on disability I get paid once a month!! It's surrounded by a lovely neighborhood and has always felt safe. We've lived here for 5 years now and all of our neighbors have been angels, but they all started moving out of our building within the last 2 years and now we unfortunately have the most disrespectful neighbors move in downstairs as well as upstairs. We've complained multiple times about how loud they are (especially their kids) and how disruptive it is whenever they run up and down the hallway/stairs making multiple trips every single time. And even though they are down the hall from us we can still hear them from inside our apartment. I'm also not sure who raised these people to slam their doors so obnoxiously, but it shakes our entire apartment every time and is extremely loud. We've never had this problem until these people moved in and have complained multiple times now. It's gotten so bad that my husband and I are planning on moving out of our apartment when our lease is up next year. My only other complaints are how dark our apartment is. If the balcony had no cover we'd maybe get some sunlight, but it's dark and dreary 24/7 which is awful. The other complaint is that the stairs leading up to our apartment have been loose so whenever anyone walks up the stairs we can hear it from inside our apartment which is just the cherry on top! The office always closed and even if they are open, they're over at another complex so you still can't reach anybody. They don't return phone calls. They don't return the worst I've ever seen it. Now for six weeks, we have had a family of relative with small screaming kids taking over the pool the hallways. This is not supposed to be allowed.. Residents, including myself, have reported it, but they knew about it. As of yesterday we found out that the father of these children is also wearing an ankle monitor, so there's some kind of legal thing going on there which leaves a lot of the elderly residence afraid. That has also been brought to attention of management so a family of sex living with a relative that has an ankle monitor. The rules, but they don't do anything about it. I am at the point now that it's time to To Move because once this kind of thing happens, my safety is a concern. If you want to rent here, all I can say is beware. It was extremely hard to get in touch with someone at the front office to get an apartment here. I would call and email and neither would be returned, so I would physically have to drive across town to show up and speak with someone. The area my apartment was in had these endangered birds that would nest in the trees and poop like crazy. When I tell you I have never seen this much bird poop in my entire life I mean it... the whole side walk and grass area would be coated white. My car was constantly covered in poop spray and bird feathers (even parked under the car port cover ) some guy would come out and power wash the ground every other day and one time I walked out to them power washing my car. Baby birds fall out of their nests and I would have to call a bird rescue to save them. I would see dead baby birds often. One time I saw a worker carrying a baby by its leg and the baby was still moving ! When he saw me I think he felt embarrassed he had been caught judging by his body language. I understand they can't control the birds but we were told they would be doing something about the trees so they wouldn't be able to gather there anymore. They removed trees on other parts of the property while we lived there and it caused all the birds to have no choice but to gather right next to my apartment. They never addressed the trees by my unit. I got pooped on twice just walking to and from my car. The birds also make the craziest noise I have ever heard and they're so loud and there's so many of them One day we left to go to my parents house and someone tried to break in through out patio door but we had a safety stick put in so they couldn't get inside. We know this because we closed the door before we left and it was open when we arrived and my ring camera captured audio of this incident occurring. A police report was filed and we told the leasing office and they really had nothing to say. They didn't follow up with us at all. Once my washing machine broke and I kept trying to get ahold of maintenance and was told they would come on three separate occasions and no one came. I wasn't able to wash my clothes and it got to the point I physically had to go to the leasing office and ask what's going on for them to finally send someone to come fix it. There's roaches or water bugs as they say (look just like roaches) and I would find them in my apartment often. What ultimately got me to leave was the bird poop it was so bad I felt it was a health hazard and couldn't stay any longer.

My mother was friends with them and she cared for them before they passed. And I remember them they were happy in ther apartment. Everybody at this complex were nice and respectful towards each other. They all spoiled my son. Instead of meeting 1 new Grandma. My son thought he had several. The maintenance man especially Nick was always helpful and attentive to my mother's needs. My mother and the Golden girls have passed. They are all together watching me piss off Jean this property Manager! And giggling... My mother was crazy and Jean is Krazy too! A little old white woman with a Newyork accent and a Black Soul! I see why people respect her. She keeps a tight shift! And sees everything on her property. And is not afraid to address you anyway she feels. This complex will always mean so much to me. This was my first apartment by myself, no roommates,…read moreno partner, just me myself and I. Something I was very proud of. I found this gem driving around the neighborhood and was able to find some photos online. I fell in love with how clean and peaceful it looked. When I originally inquired about vacancy, they were no units available. Several months later I inquired again, and at the right time because they had two apartments waiting to become available in about a month. I received a response very promptly within minutes and shortly after spoke with Jean who gave me the run down on protocol. The next day during my lunch break I toured the complex with Jean and put in my application. About an hour later I receive notification that I will be the next tenant at Mediterranean Village! My unit was special as it had small little features that other units didn't- mainly in the bathroom. I lived in a 1 bedroom 1 bath unit, which I believe is over 700 sqft, but not sure on the exact measurements. It was perfect for just me. Living room was spacious. High ceilings with wooden beams (loved that aesthetic) . Kitchen wasn't huge, but for myself and maybe another person it is perfect size. The bedroom was huge! I had a queen size bed, but could have easily fit a king size and still have so much walking space throughout the room-it also had a deep closet. There are several laundromats, and tenants were able to use the ones on the Dos Robles property as well. They do allow pets, but upon approval. There is one pool and its pretty big with plenty of seating. Only thing about the pool is we tenants were not allowed to bring any floating tubes or pool toys. This property is so quiet and serene. A lot of trees and shade. The property is well taken care of- absolutely beautiful. I never had any issues with parking, neighbors and if I needed anything fixed maintenance was right on top of it. Complex is gated, which provided some peace of mind. Management always kept the safety of staff and tenants at top priority. Another thing I loved is that tenants were always informed about any changes, or issues on the property. Jean never failed to reach out to us to keep us "in the loop". There were two separate times that we ran out of hot water for a day or two and some money was deducted from rent for the inconvenience both times. Future tenants, you'll love it!

On the surface, the complex presents itself as modern and professional, but once you've signed the lease, the cracks (literally and figuratively) begin to show. Move-In Disaster On the very day we were scheduled to move into what we were promised was a luxury unit--with a set deposit already agreed upon--we were suddenly told, "Oh, actually, it's not luxury, it's just 'upgraded.'" Excuse me? That's not what we signed for. I refused, so they "fixed" it--by demanding we pay hundreds more dollars with one day's notice. Not only was this a bait-and-switch, it also left us scrambling with one less day to move all of our belongings. Real classy. And this so-called luxury unit? Our dryer didn't work for an entire month. Imagine paying Shore Park prices and having to drag laundry baskets around because management couldn't be bothered to provide a working appliance. That's their version of "luxury." Maintenance Circus Maintenance here is not just unreliable--it's gross. We were told by their own team that workers would literally chew tobacco and spit on people's floors. And honestly, I believe it, because every time they came into my apartment, they left a mess behind. I found dirt, leaves, and random debris scattered through my home after they "worked" on something, with zero effort to clean it up. And if that wasn't enough, one time the gardeners actually used a blower to push dirt and leaves right under my front door. Why? Because there is no weather stripping on the doors. I spent forever cleaning up a mess that never should've happened in the first place. Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs Let's talk about the "pest control." Supposedly they spray weekly. If that's true, someone should check what's actually in the sprayer--air? Because my patio was completely unusable due to giant spider infestations. I'm not talking a few webs--I mean massive spiders covering the entire space, making it impossible to sit outside. And the infestation wasn't limited to the patio. I had spiders in my living room, spiders in my bedroom... because who doesn't want to sleep with a side of arachnophobia? Day-to-Day Living Noise is constant, the property feels neglected, and communication from staff is dismissive at best, rude at worst. You'll quickly learn that your concerns are treated like optional reading. Move-Out & Deposit Fun Here's where things really shine. California law requires landlords to return deposits within 21 days. Shore Park? They apparently run on "Shore Park time," where deadlines are more of a suggestion. My deposit refund was late, and they tried to tack on a laundry list of inflated "cleaning" and "carpet" charges that were laughable. According to them, living in your apartment like a normal human being is grounds for hundreds of dollars in deductions. I guess we should all float above the carpet to keep it in showroom condition. Final Thoughts And here's the kicker: after I escalated everything to their corporate bosses, it turns out what Shore Park's management did wasn't even legal. Corporate confirmed it, and--surprise, surprise--I got my full deposit back. So not only was I right and they were wrong, but they wasted my time, stressed me out, and tried to keep money they weren't entitled to. So let me spell it out: If you move here, expect to fight for what you're owed, expect management to twist the rules until someone higher up checks them, and expect the bare minimum dressed up as "luxury." I've lived it, I've fought it, and I won. My advice? Save yourself the drama and just don't move in.
