I can't believe l didn't send it back. The "steak" wouldn't even qualify as meat, let alone steak. It was mushy like pablum and was made to be eaten with a spoon. It was disgusting. It had some type of flavor, but it wasn't meat. I can't believe they had the nerve to call it "steak". I tried scraping off the 'fried' part but the whole thing had no body to it whatsoever and just fell apart. To be fair, my husband had a traditional bacon and eggs meal and he said it was good. What the heck happened? I know the prices of meat have gone up but again- it was not meat. Don't restaurants usually go to a cheaper cut of real meat? The owner, Emily, was there working to keep everything running smoothly. The food was healthy and evidently is a great local favorite. All the breakfast and brunch staples you'd hope for, done really well. Our server, Izzy, was amazing too. Super friendly and on top of a party of 9 (and my 18-month old toddler. I'd totally recommend this spot for a laid-back breakfast or brunch. And honestly, if I'm ever back in the area, I'd go out of my to visit Taste Local again.
