Cute, simple, delicious. Their staff was very friendly and accommodating to a friend of mine who is not a coffee drinker. They had a lot of questions and their staff was so helpful with their answers. Quality espresso that gave me some energy, but the star of the show was that Peanut Butter Bar! Soft oats covered in peanut buttery goodness and chocolate that tasted almost like fudge. SO FREAKING GOOD. I hate when an oat bar is tough to eat or scrapes up the roof of your mouth. This was everything and when great with my coffee. It was basically dessert. so if you're not a sweets person, steer clear. More for me! Legit sad, I don't live closer to this spot. This coffee shop was the first coffee shop we saw on our little stroll through downtown Fort Collins. It's a cute, little, simple coffee shop. The staff was super friendly and nice. I ordered one of their specials; Coconut honey latte. It was super yummy! Not overly sweet. You could taste the quality of of the coffee and a subtle hint of the coconut and honey. I ordered a mocha from a very condescending barista at Starry Night. I asked for a double tall mocha, no whip cream. Skippy says to me "I am not familiar with Starbucks sizes". By him declaring that, obviously he is familiar with Starbucks, I have not been to a Starbucks in nearly 30 years. I have been ordering my mochas like that since my friend opened her coffee shop in 1990. That is how she taught me to order my mochas. Starry night espresso cafe is a decent place, however the espresso shot was definitely under par and acidic. Also, there was a definite lack of milk foam in my cappuccino. Overall, I have had better espresso at other places in town, such as Alley Cat cafe or Lima coffee roasters. With all of this said, it isn't a bad establishment, just a little behind the others in town. read more

Coffee was lukewarm, and from our experience, and it tasted like they did not use espresso roasted coffee. The scones were quite sugary and undercooked. The paper on the pre made burritos stuck to the tortillas like glue after being heated. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and the servers were pleasant and polite. read more

Starry Night. This was my college hang out many years ago. I would go and study here and drink coffee and tea :) More recently, well end of 2019/early 2020 (so pre-covid) we did bring our girl scouts here after a afternoon of adventuring and doing a scavenger hunt downtown. We all hung out, got drinks, and warmed up. The shop i consider to be pretty cozy. Lots of tables and space available. They also had outdoor tables available. The staff was friendly and upbeat and happy to serve us and answer our questions and take our multiple orders! The drinks were delicious! I am sure I had a hot tea as I dont drink coffee but plenty of my girls had coffee variety of drinks. Would definitely come back if I were in old town and wanting to warm up with a hot beverage or if i was just wanting a cool place to hang out with a friend and catch up. read more

This espresso shop and cafe is a FoCo gem. Whether you're just popping in to take something to go or posting up for a while, the experience is memorable. As for the espresso drinks,I am not one who typically likes any added flavors, sweeteners or syrups of any kind however, I was exposed to their lavender latte and it changed my world-- I couldn't stop thinking about it the days following. The staff is also always so welcoming and the vibe is equally as comfortable. I have yet to try any of the pastries or menu items (unfortunately, just never needing a bite when I visit) but, they are all made fresh and look delicious. This place may not be around the corner but, surly worth the drive. read more

This is a great coffee house! The coffee drinks are always great- well made, never sour Americanos. They have great ambiance close to College and Mountain. Large pioneer store windows are charming, and maje thus a light, bright cafe. They have coconut milk and almond for dairy free. Tall chocolate cake, sandwiches, beets in container, breakfast burritos, croissant, banana bread. My only complaint is that they close about 7-8 some nights, but check their schedule. First, no longer open until 11 on Fridays. Which was a huge bummer for us that we didn't see the hours posted when we walked in, nor were we told when we ordered our lattes and cake at 9:50. My almond milk latte was also much too cold for my liking. Cold enough where I had to rush to drink it before it's stone cold. Between that and having to rush bites of our cake once we saw they were closing down, made the whole experience very unsatisfying. The two girls on staff were nice about having to kick us out, but still. Like I said, what a bummer experience. read more

Coffee was good. However, the staff was rather pretentious and seemed uninterested in building any sort of rapport with me as a customer. Little Bird coffee wasn't as good, but their staff was polite, very welcoming and was happy to explain the drinks. I have visited Starry Night twice to give it a chance but won't be returning due to the attitude of the staff. My visit was on 10/22. Just as a business insight, the interior could use a bit of care, maybe to show more pride, in comparison to the surrounding well put together establishments. I wish them good luck and I genuinely hope the owner cares enough to make some changes, especially since Fort Collins is usually good at this. read more

There are so many good, but not great options for coffee in Fort Collins, and Starry Night is one of them. I can't say I have had a bad experience, but none of them have been great. The parking situation is not easy, unless you get there early in the morning because it's downtown. The dining area is spacious enough that it can seat several people. I ordered the Bhakti Chai and a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. The chai was good, but not as spicy as I like my Bhakti Chai. The sandwich was pretty dry, but did the job. The drip coffee here is from Jackie's Java as that's not my favorite, so I didn't get the coffee. The setting is comfortable and quiet enough that I enjoyed my stay. I've been in before to get a drink and leave to walk around downtown. This is a good coffee shop for getting caffeine and hanging out. read more

They also just have very nice esrpresso and coffee machines and the menu is very pretty. My one qualm is that they do not have sugar free syrup options. Location: It's an ugly building. We came here twice during our three day stay because I loved their matcha so much! The barista recommended that I add rose syrup & honey to it - & it was amazing. Starry Night cafe holds a special spot in my heart and/or psyche after just a single trip in. I came into the cafe around 8 am on a Wednesday morning, a couple hours before I started my road trip back to SLC. When I first made it in, it was not yet too crazy inside. It took me a few minutes to decide what I needed to satisfy my coffee morning cravings [I opted for a soy latte with a little bit of added vanilla flavor] and cuddled into a table near the wall and front door. I wanted a nice place to relax, get a little knitting in, and enjoy the morning before I started my drive home. Starry Night Cafe was perfect. I spent two hours in this lovely coffee shop, people watching & enjoying delicious coffee. This cafe gets busy. There was constant stream of patrons, to the point where the cafe seating was pretty much entirely filled, with a line to still order. One thing that I found with my most recent trip to FoC, is that everyone is extremely nice here - and the employees and customers of Starry Night were no different. The location of this cafe is so convenient. I could see myself stopping in on early mornings before heading off to work, and then coming in later to study into the night. And this is what I'm going to attempt to do in the near future. If all goes well, I can see myself becoming a Starry Night regular. read more

Here's the full version: Walking around Fort Collins I noticed the sign outside that said "French pastries". I just had to find out what was inside. Opening the door, you get a chill vibe that just automatically lifts your stress. Walk back to the barista table & see the sweet manual espresso machine - and as a coffee aficionado you know this is already a good start. The menu splits espresso & coffee drinks (another plus) and you get options that are delicious and you don't find at Starbucks. Cortado? They've got it. Espresso macchiato? Same. I asked about a coffee macchiato and was told that they're still working on that. It's really impressive that they know about it, because that's something I usually only see in Europe. That told me they care about coffee and had me excited for my mocha. How was it? See the picture?... yeah... it's more delicious than it looks. Great job! Food wise, I enjoyed the Brie & Thyme sandwich with a spinach salad. Again, delicious. Very well balanced flavors. Brie, cranberry compote, artichoke. Very well done. Although there are plenty of choices for a good brew in Fort Collins, Starry Night is my personal favorite. After a recent update to the interior space (since 2014), Starry Night looks even more spectacular inside than before. The cafe is always clean and the decor is always interesting to look at- they often feature paintings and photographs from local artists. The service is exceptional. The baristas are always incredibly friendly and always speedy in preparing my order. My absolute FAVORITE thing about Starry Night is the dessert selection. They offer a rotating selection of cakes and pies- which are unfailingly rich and delicious. read more
