This restaurant poises itself as "home brought closer to you" with dishes characterized like your Lola's specialty, your Tita's secret recipe, your Uncle's all-time favorite... It's pretty much like those home-grown recipes you've come to know that are prepared with extra care for hearty family meals and reunions. That said, everything looked and tasted pretty good! Nothing especially fancy and outstanding, but good. Try the Sous Vide Hanging Tender Steak with its siding of mashed potatoes that comes in this long narrow boat plate. It's cooked medium rare and has this pepper-crusted edge that adds flavor. I thought the seafood Diablo Pasta was pretty okay too. The Tuna Tartare for appetizer, which uses fresh tuna sashimi, is something unique you should try as well. Unlike your raw fish ceviches, this doesn't have that tangy, acidic type of marinade but instead has a smooth sesame oil and spices mixture, topped with Japanese mayonnaise. There's a wedge of lemon on the side though if you want that tangy spritz. Yummy twist to your usual sashimi. You can also have your dishes with some house wine. Great for a good, hearty dinner! read more
