2 days before our visit we decided to read reviews on yelp and we were terrified! (6 months preggo and 3 very opinionated teens) When we walked into the lobby it was very clean, of course it smelled like smoke, its a casino for gods sake! Not super overwhelming like others had mentioned. The room and bathroom were surprisingly clean and very roomy! There was no hair left laying around in the bathroom as previously mentioned in other posts. The water pressure in the shower was great, however the shower head was very low. My husband had to squat just to get wet. The toilet was also very low which was a little weird to me. The room came with an iron, ironing board and a blow dryer. Our end table did have an issue with the drawer, it kept opening but it wasn't a deal breaker!! I just so happened to have tape and that did the trick. The temperature knob in our mini fridge was missing so it took us a while to figure out how to make it cooler. The ac kept the room nice and cool but it was very loud, sounded like it was struggling big time. They had a smart TV, we were able to access netflix, amazin prime and another service (i cant remember) The arcade was decent but was prob better for smaller kids. Our kids still enjoyed it. The family pool was beautiful with plenty of sitting areas. It was about 90 something degrees when we went but the water was too cold for me! The kids and my husband had fun on the slides they had. They don't allow outside food or drinks but they had a little bar/snack shack. We did have to pay an additional 15$ for an extra pool wristband. 4 were given for a double bed room. The private beach was very cute but we didn't really spend any time there unfortunately. The ice machine was working and was a short distance from our room. We got panda express pretty late in the day, the food was a little sad but it was expected. We were located in the central tower, maybe all the terrible reviews werw from different areas of the hotel? Who knows. Oh, there only seemed to be luggage carts for those who were parking in valet, that part kinda sucked. We were also a ahirt distance from a gas station, Mc donalds, Starbucks and a few grocery markets. Overall we really enjoyed our time there and will def be visiting again. read more

I really wanted to enjoy our stay at the Avi, but unfortunately the condition of our room was extremely disappointing. The only positive experience we had was with the bell and valet staff. They were friendly, professional, and incredibly fast every time we needed them. They were easily the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was another story. The carpet throughout the room had numerous stains, including what appeared to be a large red stain near the bed. The room felt so dirty that I didn't even want my bare feet touching the floor. We ended up sleeping on top of the blankets because we weren't comfortable enough to sleep in the bedding. The bathroom was in poor condition. The bathtub barely drained, leaving standing water while showering. The bathroom exhaust fan was caked with dust, there was visible mildew or mold-like staining near the toilet plumbing, chipped paint and cracks around the bathroom door frame, and gaps around the shower fixture where it wasn't properly sealed. The cleanliness throughout the room was disappointing. The TV remote was covered in dust, the furniture had a noticeable layer of dust, there was dirt and debris behind the furniture, and even the ice bucket had visible residue inside. Overall, it felt like the room hadn't received a thorough cleaning in quite some time. For what this resort charges, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance. The property has a great location and friendly valet staff, but management really needs to invest more in housekeeping and room upkeep. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again. read more

It is a fun weekend getaway in Laughlin IF you know what you're getting into. 1. The casino resort is about 20 miles south of the main Laughlin strip of casinos. It's more secluded and less crowded, which can be a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for. The crowd tends to be older and calm. It's relaxing and not a party vibe. 2. The casino is VERY smoky and if you stay in the hotel here, the smoke is in the corridors too. There ventilation needs to be improved. Also the casino entrance is an open atrium that leads to the hotel hallways upstairs which adds to the smoke everywhere. 3. The pool and beach is very nice and chill. There's a bigger pool for families and kids and a separate pool hot tub section for adults alone. The pool is not heated so it's too cold to swim in the winter months but the hot tub is nice. 4. The rooms are nothing special but they're clean and do its job. The housekeeping was interesting as they did come and clean the bathroom and refill the toiletries, but the beds were sloppily made and the pillows simply thrown at the headboard. 5. Service at check in and at the restaurants were fine. The service at Mojave Coffee was great. 6. The casino is a good size with mostly a lot machines and electronic games. 7. There is a movie theater on site and an arcade which is good for kids. Bottom line: it's a fun place to get away if you know what to expect. It's good for casual gambling, laying by the pool, and a no frills yet fun experience. read more

Stayed here for one night on my way to Sedona. It's a Laughlin casino so my expectations were not high. My experience was positive overall. My kids loved the slides at the pool. Our room was clean. There is a strong smoke smell in the casino but not in the room or the hallways. The bartenders didn't really know how to make a cosmopolitan or a dirty martini. The food court has three options and once is a Mexican Place with the same setup as a chipotle but I actually liked it much better than chipotle. What stood out most about this place was the excellent customer service. Everyone I interacted with was nice, friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The hotel needs some upgrades to make it better but for a quick overnight stay it was ok. read more

My kids have had fun at this hotel, and that means a lot, so the main reason for 3 stars. Also, our room happened to be really clean. I read a lot of reviews complaining about cleanliness but I couldn't find any issues. Also, the room was a pretty good deal. However, there are some things that could be improved or that might be turn off for some people. For one, the property does reek of smoke. Our room and floor didn't (it was a non-smoking floor) but the main parts of the property and as soon as you walk in you are hit with that smell. The property was supposedly built in 1995, with a major renovation in 2004, but it seems like it is really more dated than that. I would have guessed built in 1988. The pool is beautiful but it was incredibly crowded when we used it in the evening after checking in. My kids loved it though, and the water slide, it didn't seem to bug them at all that it was so crowded. There are lots of nice families but lots of rough looking clientele, so if that bothers you I'd stay elsewhere. Dining options were ok, as we wanted pool time and stayed on a Tuesday we were limited to the small food court and Feathers cafe which all stayed open till 10. I really liked my salad from Feathers and the kids liked the Sbarro pizza. We went and tried out the kids arcade as it was open till 11pm. My kids had fun especially with the Minecraft game. They enjoyed it. We are not into gambling so we didn't come here for the casino part, I thought aspects of that were kind of depressing and dystopic. But all staff were pleasant and our room was clean, kids had fun, it was a deal. read more

I stayed in the River View Tower, and overall I'd rate my experience as decent. The room itself was mostly clean, but the bathroom definitely needed more attention, the tub, sink, and toilet all looked like they only got a quick wipe down rather than a deep clean. On the positive side, customer service was great. The front desk ladies were kind and very helpful during check-in, which I really appreciated. The view from my room was nice, overlooking the pools and the river. They did have a food court which was a nice touch. They had Subway, Sbarro, and Panda Express. There was also a theater (which i didn't get to visit) but i think that's a great amenity to have there. For the price, I think it was fair since the hotel does have its own private beach and two pools, but it's a bit far from the main Laughlin "strip" and the other casinos. Overall, not terrible but not amazing either -- good if you want pools and a river view, and don't mind being far from the strip but I think the bathrooms could definitely be improved. read more

KAMATHU! (WELCOME!)... I felt the good vibes at this resort which touts making all visitors feel welcomed no matter their background. Avi values citizenship and professionalism which is apparent in their business practices. Being a minority myself within several groups. I felt a warm welcome when I toured the premises. Avi abides by the tribe's values of "KAMATHU" and hospitality which is posted in many of the resort's spaces. I appreciated this very much! The resort was HIDDEN, MELLOW, & FAMILY-FRIENDLY! I feel super safe every time I visit Avi Resort and Casino, it's got attentive staff, a wholesome vibe, and plenty of walking space. Equipped with a private beach, the Avi is perfect for quiet getaways and unforgettable moments by the Colorado River. There's even a dock for personal water crafts and small boats if you brought your own! Good news! If you're a KOA camp member there's RV and trailer space near the front of the casino. I saw plenty of families utilizing some awesome KOA perks like the Avi pool and outdoor area. I love the Avi's wide array of food options. From their food court (which has a Thrifty's ice cream), to their Native Harvest Buffet with a delicious variety of meals, to their inviting Feathers cafe and bars. Everything tasted great! The casino floor doesn't smell like smoke like some other casinos in Laughlin and it's easy to navigate. The Avi has a small gift shop (with no AC) which is well-stocked with Avi merch like polos and vacation wear. I spotted a Vegas Golden Knights placard, this gift shop got instant kudos, GO KNIGHTS! Parking is shaded and near the casino entrance, so don't worry about running from your car. I love how convenient this resort is! read more

The Hotel is horrible! The rooms were dirty . Dust everywhere, nothing wiped down . Got to our room tv didn't work . Toilet did not flush called 2 times to get it fixed to no avail still broken . Had to go to bathroom in hotel because apparently they can't fix a toilet . Went to the pool it was extremely out of balance and murky ! Decided to have cocktails and give it a chance , very spendy ranged from 12- 24 dollars per drink not much booze in them . Beers were $10 . Apparently they were pretty proud of them . Smoked field dirty dingy Casino. The cafe has horrifying food and they have no idea what a medium or a piece of prime rib looks like. The RV Park zero customer service nobody at the office they close at 4:00 p.m. on a weekend. You call the office they don't return your call or answer the phone. The RV park workers all were working keeping the roads clean and the garbage cans emptied doing their thing. However extreme mismanagement of the RV Park. The whole center row is empty and we had two spots and they put another camper 3 ft from me when there was at least 40 spots open. You guys need to figure out your downfalls because the reviews say it all. read more

However, someone should check the pool due to the color green. I've been to the pool a couple of times and had mentioned it to the pool people. I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the handling of our recent family vacation stay at The Avi. Our trip was significantly disrupted due to issues involving two separate reservations, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment from management staff. My family traveled from California with two fully paid reservations. During our stay, one reservation was unexpectedly cancelled through Booking.com, which resulted in our family being locked out of the room. We spent hours attempting to resolve the issue with both hotel staff and Booking.com support. To make matters worse, The Avi then shortened one of our reservations by removing the final night in order to cover payment issues related to the separate reservation, despite both reservations already being paid in full. This created unnecessary stress and confusion during what was supposed to be a family vacation. Throughout this process: - We spent nearly 8 hours on the phone and speaking with management attempting to resolve the situation. - Staff and management were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to assist appropriately. - The Director of Operations refused to come out and support employees or speak with us directly regarding the situation. - No reasonable resolution or accommodation was offered despite the inconvenience and disruption caused to our family. This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We are requesting: - A full review of both reservations and payment records - An explanation regarding the cancellation and room lockout - Compensation or reimbursement for the lost vacation time and inconvenience caused - Follow-up contact from upper management regarding this matter We expected professionalism and customer service but instead experienced unnecessary stress, poor communication, and lack of accountability. read more

There was methamphetamine in the drawer by my bed. The dresser drawer were dirty. They had crumbs all in them. There was a pair of child underwear behind one of the drawers, and one of them didn't close correctly, and I hit my leg on it. It was never addressed the whole time we were there. read more

Well @ 1 time we'd of given the Resort a 3.5 -4 star . However not this time , no one's fault for the following ; phone lines were down , there was a sewerage problem in boat parking . So we were not allowed in for the SoCal show& shine boat event w/our boat , we had to get back there thru the oool area all around to back of hotel by boat parking . We were unable to preview the boats as so many also could not preview their boats . We are followers of. SoCal jet boats & have been coming here for many many years Their Events are such fun , Drama free & bring a lot of revenue to The Avi The rooms are now worn , dirty , smell musty not fresh , holes in the wall in the bedroom area by the right of picture on wall & another wallpaper pulled up by bed & another hole !! It , appears to have blood to the right of door as you exit room . Our tub keeps running needs a washer or done time of repair, the sink faucet has been soo badly worn it' needs a new on installed ? Understand it's the summer , & they have accommodated many throughout the Summer . My family and I stayed here June 18-22, 2026 for a family reunion, and unfortunately we were very disappointed. We were placed in the Beach Towers with a pool‑facing view, and from the start the experience was frustrating. There was only one working elevator for the entire building, and the lines were constant. After checking in, we waited about 15 minutes just to get upstairs. A security guard confirmed this was "normal" and said the other elevator had been out of service for weeks. When we finally got to the room, the bathroom light revealed wads of blonde hair in multiple corners, and the floor was clearly not cleaned--there were old shoe prints everywhere. The shower had almost no water pressure, and hot water was scarce our entire stay. The AC worked fine, but the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The mattress was extremely old and lumpy--you could tell without even lying on it. We also paid an extra $30 per night for a pull‑out bed for our grandson, and the mattress was so thin you could see the metal frame through it. When we sat on it, the bars pressed right through. The pool area was okay, but with no shade and 107‑degree weather, it wasn't enjoyable. The drinks were weak and overpriced--$14 for a small margarita, and somehow ice cost an extra $8. The private beach access was nice, but the sand was scorching, so bring water shoes. The casino was clean but very smoky. On the positive side, The Feather restaurant was great for breakfast--good food at a reasonable price. We also visited the on‑site theater, and it was a surprisingly fun experience with cheap tickets and fresh popcorn. Overall, we made the best of our family time, but I would not stay at this resort again. read more

Not a good place for Non-Smokers. I didn't read the reviews. I should have. This Resort and Casino is Smoke hazard. The minute you walk through the doors, you are second hand smoking, literally. Now, people are not smoking everywhere, yet it has that life time smoke everywhere. It's in the walls, bathrooms, bedrooms. It's just about everywhere. I was feeling oozy the minute I walked in. We stayed 2 nights, for my nieces tournament. It was closed by. The room reeked of smoke. On the third day, my mom was not feeling good. She woke up stuffy nose, head ache, the works. She took a Zyrtec and then a tylenol. She got better after 2 hours. The Cleanliness of the room was bad. They didn't really clean. They did a lick, before we checked in. The only positive, were the staff. They were nice and helpful. If you don't smoke or can't handle second hand smoke, don't waste your money here. read more

The pool was warm with so much chlorine it burned your eyes just being near by. We used to stay at the Avi all the time and always enjoyed it, but unfortunately it seems to have gone downhill. The beach, pool, and launch ramp are still nice, but the hotel was pretty dirty, the pool was gross, and we even found underwear left in the closet. The fire alarm also went off around 12:30 AM. We stopped by to enjoy an extra day of Laughlin after leaving the Riverside casino. We only came in based on the looks of the hotel, but didn't realize that the rules were ridiculous. We paid to come into the adult site area and lo and behold, there's a lot of fucking kids teenagers. Cannonball is the whole works. I complained and they said it's a community pool. This is not what we were told when we came in at the front desk. I am very disappointed and quite disgusted by the way that things turned out because the staff was so rude. read more

If I could give no stars I absolutley would! The lack of common courtesy and customer service is plentiful at check in. The front desk staff could care less about you so don't bother bringing any concerns to their attention. The rooms desperately need updating. The carpets are stained and the furniture is scratched and chipped. The water is brown and there were stains on the wall they couldn't even bother to wipe down. Whatever you do, DON'T look at the A/C vents because they are disgusting! I'm surprised we didn't come home with breathing problems. There was also a power outage when we visited and so the elevators did not work. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get to your room other than hiking up several flights of stairs. Not very easy if you're over 70. Again, I'd love to give zero stars for this property and the front desk, housekeeping, and management teams, but the reason they received a single star was the hardworking valet staff, the hardworking café staff, and their pool area. We stayed at the Avi one year ago and was great. Fast forward to today 7-11-2025 The stay was HORRIBLE The fire alarm went off at 1am ok not a big deal. We all just got woken up. At 2am we get a knock at the door from security asking if we have a dog. NO WE DONT BUT THE ROOM NEXT TO US DEFINITELY DOES. And there's a no dog policy but they allow therapy pets. The dog kept barking and wouldn't let us sleep. Spoke with the manger ANGEL, she was rude and condescending. Next morning tried to book a massage and the person for the massage never answered or even showed up because I kept walking over to see if she was even there. Ridiculous why even advertise massages. The movie theater is very out dates and the sound was horrible. We purchased a cabana at the pool for $100 to me the price is reasonable. BUT every cabana around us was getting serviced. Water buckets and drinks but no one ever came to us. After 2 hours I went up and asked for service. They were very apologetic. AND don't get me started on the room. Disgusting and dirty. House keeping is going a half ass job. Found food under the bed. A tennis ball, used soup in the shower. Grossed out Last but not least- when checking in we were given 4 wrist bands. We were instructed that if one breaks bring it back and they will replace it. What they don't tell you is if you lose it they will not replace it. My 5 year old went to the kid quest and lost her wrist band. I spoke with the front desk. They didn't care told me id have to purchase a wrist band everyday the rest of our stay. Does that sound fair?! A child lost a pool wrist band and you can't replace it? Seriously?!? Overall WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! read more

Avi used to be one of our favorite spots because it always felt clean and enjoyable, but our last two stays have been very disappointing. This most recent visit was the worst. When we turned on the shower and toilet, brown dirty looking water came out. The white towels instantly became stained brown when they got wet, and the bathtub was already dirty with brown stains. The bathroom floor was also filthy, with hair and debris like it hadn't been cleaned at all. The vent above was packed with lint, dust, and black buildup, making the entire room feel unsanitary. I asked the staff about the dirty water, and they brushed it off, saying it was just "chemicals" and not dirt. That answer didn't make us feel any better, and we ended up checking out the very next morning to stay somewhere else. Because of the water situation, we didn't feel safe using the pool, and the Avi beach was also dirty, covered in moss-like buildup. It's really sad because Avi used to be our go-to getaway and felt like the cleanest option in the area. I really love the beach & pool aspect of the resort . However it's gotten kind of run down Today August 23rd we are resort guests & went w family to go eat off property . We went for breakfast & came back to launch our boat , it was blocked in by a white Chevy dually pick up . Plate # 5VA 2DX . Security lead by Alfi politely expediently got us out . Later on we found out from A person that knew it was the resorts DJ by the pool . So after wards I went to the dj who was very rude to me . All I went to say was you see a boat w/o a truck you had to realize we'd be right back , & he preceded to tell me off at the end of him calmly ranting none the the less , I stud your just plain rude & I left He could have said I'm Sorry but NO!!! He was the one that did nothing incorrect it was me I was wrong , so I'm upset it could of been a different story had he been more amiable read more

My wife and I had a recent stay and had a great time. When it came time to check out it was simple and easy, but when we got home we started to up pack and found we forgot a pair of shoes. So I called the next day and they did say they not only found the shoes but 2 pairs of my wife's sandals as well. So I asked if I could pay to have them shipped to us, and they said they would ship them to us free of charge. I've never left anything behind before so don't know if that's what they all do, but I thought that was outstanding of them. Thank you Avi resort! read more

**Disappointing Experience with Cocktail Service** *This review isn't about our experience with the avi itself so much as it is against the rude experience we had with Sherri* I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Sherri, a cocktail waitress at the casino, very sad from what I expected in terms of hospitality Monday night 8/4 and Tuesday night 8/5. My group and I were enjoying ourselves hopping from one casino game to another winning and losing each of us spending a couple hundred dollars per machine . While we didn't stay at one specific game for too long, we were making substantial bets, and naturally, we ordered drinks throughout our time there. However, Sherri was rude and dismissive when we tried to place our orders. She even went so far as to report us to security for "jumping between games" and not staying at one table long enough to receive our drinks. As paying customers who were spending quite a bit, it was incredibly frustrating to be treated this way. We weren't causing any trouble, just trying to have a fun time, but we were made to feel unwelcome, simply because we weren't following some unwritten rule about staying at a single game. To make matters despite being well within our rights to enjoy the casino and order drinks as we pleased. I understand there are rules, but the way this was handled was unprofessional and disappointing. It's a shame, because the rest of the casino experience was enjoyable, but Sherri's poor attitude really soured the whole visit. The hotel pool and beach are a must though during your visit but dealing with someone so rude multiple nights really makes us feel unwelcome while we are just trying to enjoy ourselves in a group setting but other then Sherri our trip to the avi this year was amazing. read more

The only positive I can find is that it was less than a 2 hour drive from home, which made it possible to leave a day early, at night, with babies, because the filth of this hotel was unbearable. The tap water is YELLOW. The pool was NEON GREEN. I was so disgusted that I had to wash my baby's bottles and give them baths with this disgusting water. Upon entering the pool area, a security guard let us know the green hue of the pool was due to it being over chlorinated...my husband owns a pool service and maintenance company, and that statement couldn't be further from the truth. The pool was getting greener and greener by the hour and by Saturday; it was almost glowing. The current picture is Friday evening. I still have yet to have a manager respond to me to discuss my concerns, so maybe this will grab their attention. And also maybe a complaint to and a visit from the health department will trigger a response. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS FILTHY AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN TO ADDRESS THE YELLOW RUNNING WATER AND NEON GREEN POOL. These are both serious health code violations and nobody seemed to care hence why we ended our trip a day early and left. read more

Not horrible, but definitely some complaints. Most annoyingly- the WiFi is unusable and disconnects every 10 minutes. To leave this review, it took 5 minutes to load the page. They have "free" WiFi but they charge $15 per day for the upgraded one. On top of that, no one in my group had any cell service. Very frustrating. I would come here again, but just don't expect much. No restaurants, no entertainment, just barely clean enough to be ok. The backdoor lake carried the experience. read more

Phillip and Kim...the director of hotel and finance you should really try harder...your hotel has such low rating and that starts with poor leadership. Our room was sub pare. The pool had a very thick layer of oil visible and I went first thing in the morning to beat the crowd. It was disgusting but kim when you purposefully mocked someone less fortunate you became even more gross than the thick layer on your hotel pool. Travelers do yourself a favor and skip this pit and head down the river to Laughlin where the hotels are cleaner and run with a little more pride in ownership. This place is run like awful. Huge thank you to the staff members at Avi Resort & Casino who helped me find my wallet. The person in charge of lost and found at the resort, David, told me a member of the staff found my wallet near the elevators. David was honest, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the whole situation. His professionalism and quick response made a big difference. I truly appreciate the care he showed.
