Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. They have lots of new food options to choose from in the food court. As well as a movie theater, which we visited and was very nice! I chose this hotel because it was in a nice location, away from the heavy traffic, which was one of the few positives about our stay. The staff was hit or miss. Some employees were very friendly and helpful, while others weren't welcoming at all. Unfortunately, the rooms were terrible and clearly lacked proper cleaning. The room immediately gave me the heebie-jeebies. There were strands of hair all over the bathroom, the vents were caked with dust, the carpets were filthy, and the walls looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. There was also a strong odor in the room that management appeared to be trying to cover up with an overpowering deodorizer, but it only made the room more unpleasant. The sinks and toilets were dirty, the refrigerator barely stayed cold, and the air conditioner never cooled the room enough to be comfortable. The pool was dirty, overcrowded, and not enjoyable. The drinks were also extremely overpriced--$17 for a drink that definitely wasn't worth the cost. The casino was another disappointment. The amount of cigarette smoke combined with poor ventilation was overwhelming and gave me a headache. One experience that really concerned me involved my 10-year-old nephew. He hurt himself while we were at the pool, and when we asked a staff member for an alcohol pad, we were told they didn't have any. I couldn't understand how a hotel with a pool wouldn't have basic first-aid supplies readily available. After my brother found another employee, we were finally given two alcohol pads, but it shouldn't have taken that much effort. If it had just been my husband and me, we would have packed up and driven the four hours back home or found another hotel. Since we were traveling with our children, we decided to make the best of it. I ended up wiping down the room and bathroom with bleach wipes myself and told the kids to keep their shoes on the entire time because I didn't feel comfortable with the cleanliness of the room. One final thing that made our stay uncomfortable was the number of stares we received for being Black. I can't say what anyone was thinking, but we had several moments that made us feel unwelcome. Overall, this hotel was a huge disappointment and nowhere near worth the price. Between the lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, poor first-aid preparedness, uncomfortable atmosphere, and overall experience, I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. read more

I really wanted to enjoy our stay at the Avi, but unfortunately the condition of our room was extremely disappointing. The only positive experience we had was with the bell and valet staff. They were friendly, professional, and incredibly fast every time we needed them. They were easily the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was another story. The carpet throughout the room had numerous stains, including what appeared to be a large red stain near the bed. The room felt so dirty that I didn't even want my bare feet touching the floor. We ended up sleeping on top of the blankets because we weren't comfortable enough to sleep in the bedding. The bathroom was in poor condition. The bathtub barely drained, leaving standing water while showering. The bathroom exhaust fan was caked with dust, there was visible mildew or mold-like staining near the toilet plumbing, chipped paint and cracks around the bathroom door frame, and gaps around the shower fixture where it wasn't properly sealed. The cleanliness throughout the room was disappointing. The TV remote was covered in dust, the furniture had a noticeable layer of dust, there was dirt and debris behind the furniture, and even the ice bucket had visible residue inside. Overall, it felt like the room hadn't received a thorough cleaning in quite some time. For what this resort charges, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance. The property has a great location and friendly valet staff, but management really needs to invest more in housekeeping and room upkeep. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again. read more

Stayed here for one night on my way to Sedona. It's a Laughlin casino so my expectations were not high. My experience was positive overall. My kids loved the slides at the pool. Our room was clean. There is a strong smoke smell in the casino but not in the room or the hallways. The bartenders didn't really know how to make a cosmopolitan or a dirty martini. The food court has three options and once is a Mexican Place with the same setup as a chipotle but I actually liked it much better than chipotle. What stood out most about this place was the excellent customer service. Everyone I interacted with was nice, friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The hotel needs some upgrades to make it better but for a quick overnight stay it was ok. read more

I've been coming to the Avi for years and have stayed in several different towers. This is the first time I've ever experienced something like this. The morning we were checking out, we found what appeared to be a large cockroach in our room. When I reported it to the front desk and showed them a video, I was simply told it was a "river bug" because of the hotel's location and that there was nothing they could do. I understand the hotel is located near the river and that insects from outside may occasionally make their way indoors. However, regardless of what it's called, it looked like a cockroach and finding it crawling around our room was disgusting and very unsettling. What disappointed me the most was how the situation was handled. It felt like my concern was brushed off instead of being acknowledged. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I did expect a sincere apology or some effort to make things right after being a loyal guest for so many years. read more

2 days before our visit we decided to read reviews on yelp and we were terrified! (6 months preggo and 3 very opinionated teens) When we walked into the lobby it was very clean, of course it smelled like smoke, its a casino for gods sake! Not super overwhelming like others had mentioned. The room and bathroom were surprisingly clean and very roomy! There was no hair left laying around in the bathroom as previously mentioned in other posts. The water pressure in the shower was great, however the shower head was very low. My husband had to squat just to get wet. The toilet was also very low which was a little weird to me. The room came with an iron, ironing board and a blow dryer. Our end table did have an issue with the drawer, it kept opening but it wasn't a deal breaker!! I just so happened to have tape and that did the trick. The temperature knob in our mini fridge was missing so it took us a while to figure out how to make it cooler. The ac kept the room nice and cool but it was very loud, sounded like it was struggling big time. They had a smart TV, we were able to access netflix, amazin prime and another service (i cant remember) The arcade was decent but was prob better for smaller kids. Our kids still enjoyed it. The family pool was beautiful with plenty of sitting areas. It was about 90 something degrees when we went but the water was too cold for me! The kids and my husband had fun on the slides they had. They don't allow outside food or drinks but they had a little bar/snack shack. We did have to pay an additional 15$ for an extra pool wristband. 4 were given for a double bed room. The private beach was very cute but we didn't really spend any time there unfortunately. The ice machine was working and was a short distance from our room. We got panda express pretty late in the day, the food was a little sad but it was expected. We were located in the central tower, maybe all the terrible reviews werw from different areas of the hotel? Who knows. Oh, there only seemed to be luggage carts for those who were parking in valet, that part kinda sucked. We were also a ahirt distance from a gas station, Mc donalds, Starbucks and a few grocery markets. Overall we really enjoyed our time there and will def be visiting again. read more

It is a fun weekend getaway in Laughlin IF you know what you're getting into. 1. The casino resort is about 20 miles south of the main Laughlin strip of casinos. It's more secluded and less crowded, which can be a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for. The crowd tends to be older and calm. It's relaxing and not a party vibe. 2. The casino is VERY smoky and if you stay in the hotel here, the smoke is in the corridors too. There ventilation needs to be improved. Also the casino entrance is an open atrium that leads to the hotel hallways upstairs which adds to the smoke everywhere. 3. The pool and beach is very nice and chill. There's a bigger pool for families and kids and a separate pool hot tub section for adults alone. The pool is not heated so it's too cold to swim in the winter months but the hot tub is nice. 4. The rooms are nothing special but they're clean and do its job. The housekeeping was interesting as they did come and clean the bathroom and refill the toiletries, but the beds were sloppily made and the pillows simply thrown at the headboard. 5. Service at check in and at the restaurants were fine. The service at Mojave Coffee was great. 6. The casino is a good size with mostly a lot machines and electronic games. 7. There is a movie theater on site and an arcade which is good for kids. Bottom line: it's a fun place to get away if you know what to expect. It's good for casual gambling, laying by the pool, and a no frills yet fun experience. read more

KAMATHU! (WELCOME!)... I felt the good vibes at this resort which touts making all visitors feel welcomed no matter their background. Avi values citizenship and professionalism which is apparent in their business practices. Being a minority myself within several groups. I felt a warm welcome when I toured the premises. Avi abides by the tribe's values of "KAMATHU" and hospitality which is posted in many of the resort's spaces. I appreciated this very much! The resort was HIDDEN, MELLOW, & FAMILY-FRIENDLY! I feel super safe every time I visit Avi Resort and Casino, it's got attentive staff, a wholesome vibe, and plenty of walking space. Equipped with a private beach, the Avi is perfect for quiet getaways and unforgettable moments by the Colorado River. There's even a dock for personal water crafts and small boats if you brought your own! Good news! If you're a KOA camp member there's RV and trailer space near the front of the casino. I saw plenty of families utilizing some awesome KOA perks like the Avi pool and outdoor area. I love the Avi's wide array of food options. From their food court (which has a Thrifty's ice cream), to their Native Harvest Buffet with a delicious variety of meals, to their inviting Feathers cafe and bars. Everything tasted great! The casino floor doesn't smell like smoke like some other casinos in Laughlin and it's easy to navigate. The Avi has a small gift shop (with no AC) which is well-stocked with Avi merch like polos and vacation wear. I spotted a Vegas Golden Knights placard, this gift shop got instant kudos, GO KNIGHTS! Parking is shaded and near the casino entrance, so don't worry about running from your car. I love how convenient this resort is! read more

Went with family who are regulars and even booked through the VIP hostess. Upon arrival we were unable to speak with the VIP hostess and were separated from the rest of our group and put in a different tower even though we were the first ones to check in. Associate was not very understanding and basically said we had no other options and the room we reserved was not guaranteed. That wasn't too much of a big deal BUT the room was absolutely disgusting . Possibly never even cleaned before arrival and no response or resolution from management after numerous attempts to contact even after we returned home. Very disappointing service on that end. The rest of the resort was great. Service in all of the other areas was great. I must say that. It was strictly the room issue that ruined the trip for us as it felt completely unsanitary. We will avoid returning simply because of the condition of the room which I had to clean myself cause housekeeping never showed up and i had no other option other than to drive 4 hrs back home. Thank goodness we took extra clean sheets and blankets from home just in case. The tower hallways smelled horrible like fritos or something rancid and there were teenagers loitering throughout the halls at night that appeared to be sneaking in through a side door and did not appear to be guests of the resort as admitted by a staff member who stated it's an issue. There were groups of people loitering and yelling in the parking lot area near our window until at least 5 am. I got no sleep at all that night as i didn't feel safe because it sounded as if they were fighting. Our do not disturb sign was taken from our door and the housekeeper in the hall mentioned a lot of people had the same complaint but never retuned with a new one as she promised. Nor did they ever clean our room. I did not feel safe, or clean in that room/tower. It was very unsanitary, hair on the bed, thick dust on the furniture, mold in the shower and dirty restroom floors and toilet. The rest of our group in the beach tower on the other side of the resort had clean rooms so it must have just been where they stuck us. So very disappointing and even more so that management didn't even care to return a call or email as acknowledgement. Do better. Sad because we were looking forward to making this a regular tradition with family and we've stayed here multiple times throughout the years with no issues. read more

Been coming here for over 8 years now and this is the one time I've ever had a issue some older black security guard literally told me something for smoking my Electric hookah on the side of the property right by the south tower exit to the parking lot he told me I can't do that when I tried to explain to him c2 premium electric hookah he said I was lying that it was weed I then told him if it's weed where is the smell but didn't want to listen to reasoning so I told him I'll just go to my car if it's that bad of a issue then he wanted my id and room number I told him no straight up cause it's some bs and left to my car my girl is showering and he decides to go bang on my door like if I'm so kid needing a time out I'm 25 years old they should check there pool staff before coming for me cause I saw them sell drinks to underage manors how do I know cause the kids where bragging by the water slide so all I got to say is good job avi read more

Old dingy and filthy casino. Carpet in our room was not vacuumed, (hairballs all over the place) stains throughout the room and blood stains on walls/carpet. Room cleaning is limited and not thorough, our room had a dirty towel sitting outside our door upon arrival and stayed there the duration of the weekend. Inside the room there was trash leftover from the previous occupant. The tub had a slimy film, we had housekeeping come and clean it, didn't help. No hot water. AviCados Mexican restaurant tasted like hospital food, very bland and boiled tasting, the rice was crunchy and had no flavor. We ate Panda Express all weekend which was decent but not the best, given that that was one of the "Main" restaurants it's was always packed and you could tell they cooked the food in a hurry for the noodles were crunchy every time we had them. The casino had poor ventilation the "Non-Smoking" area smelled of cigarettes and dirty sewer (sulfur smell). Casino waitresses were rude and straight out lied to us when we ordered a drink she said she did not cover my area but then proceeded to take the persons sitting right next to me their drink order. We had such a horrible experience we left the night before we were supposed to check out. We went to check out the pool and seen that it was green looking and all we could smell was chlorine there were water bottles, hairballs, broken nails, and an algae like debris floating around in the pool. Do not walk barefoot in the room or anywhere in the casino for that matter. Overall horrible horrible experience, unfriendly staff dirty and just plain disgusting!!! Definitely a disappointment. From the minute you walk in and check in, the front desk women are rude, and uninformative. One of the 3 rooms booked was suppose to have a view of the pool and that was not honored. We also called night before to reserve a palapa and employee on the other end said a number was not needed for it and stated reservation was made for 9 AM following day. We get down there at 9 AM , if you don't wake up at 6 and setup a tent by the water, you will not have any space to do so on a Saturday, all of spots were taken with tents sides to side and no one in them until around way after 10 AM. As we were enjoying ourselves, a woman rudely approaches us at 11 AM and says she has that palapa are in reserved. We get on the phone and call the pool and the automated system says we reserved a pool cabana when we did not. We ended up packing our things quickly and leaving. We decided to head down to the pool at 3 PM, the bigger pool with the water slide was disgustingly a color of dirty brown and decided to not let my kids in and went over to checkout the 2ft pool and that one was clean. The food and drinks in the pool area are over priced and the customer service at the pool was just as bad as the front desk. We ordered chicken fingers and a burger, before we even got to order we were standing there for minutes unacknowledged with at least 5 employees behind the bar speaking to each other, once the order was ready we were not informed , we saw a bag sitting there for awhile and they did not mention it was ours when approached . The only friendly employees I encountered were the lovely lady making the omelets at the buffet and the server at the buffet. I came here years ago and I am leaving disappointed with besides this experience with the reservation and front desk, the room was not cleaned properly especially the restroom, there were stains on the wall and feces smeared on the door. Sadly this will be the last trip here. Save your money and book a place with friendlier, more organized service and where the smell of cigarettes isn't going to overcome the whole casino as you go down the first steps. read more

My kids have had fun at this hotel, and that means a lot, so the main reason for 3 stars. Also, our room happened to be really clean. I read a lot of reviews complaining about cleanliness but I couldn't find any issues. Also, the room was a pretty good deal. However, there are some things that could be improved or that might be turn off for some people. For one, the property does reek of smoke. Our room and floor didn't (it was a non-smoking floor) but the main parts of the property and as soon as you walk in you are hit with that smell. The property was supposedly built in 1995, with a major renovation in 2004, but it seems like it is really more dated than that. I would have guessed built in 1988. The pool is beautiful but it was incredibly crowded when we used it in the evening after checking in. My kids loved it though, and the water slide, it didn't seem to bug them at all that it was so crowded. There are lots of nice families but lots of rough looking clientele, so if that bothers you I'd stay elsewhere. Dining options were ok, as we wanted pool time and stayed on a Tuesday we were limited to the small food court and Feathers cafe which all stayed open till 10. I really liked my salad from Feathers and the kids liked the Sbarro pizza. We went and tried out the kids arcade as it was open till 11pm. My kids had fun especially with the Minecraft game. They enjoyed it. We are not into gambling so we didn't come here for the casino part, I thought aspects of that were kind of depressing and dystopic. But all staff were pleasant and our room was clean, kids had fun, it was a deal. read more

Ate at the brunch buffet. There were 8 of us. Had to pay the 20% gratuity just to sit together. Ok, I get it, rules are rules. We had to get are own silverware, and was never asked for refills on our drinks. The food was horrible and very skimpy. Maintenance at the food stations were not kept up very well. Ice cream machine was down so the kids went to the ice cream place there and tried to bring in back to the table and they would not allow them, but people were walking in with drinks from the bar. I have never complained on line before but it was not a good experience. The staff was not very friendly to begin with. Just very disappointed. So much has changed since Covid. Smoked field dirty dingy Casino. The cafe has horrifying food and they have no idea what a medium or a piece of prime rib looks like. The RV Park zero customer service nobody at the office they close at 4:00 p.m. on a weekend. You call the office they don't return your call or answer the phone. The RV park workers all were working keeping the roads clean and the garbage cans emptied doing their thing. However extreme mismanagement of the RV Park. The whole center row is empty and we had two spots and they put another camper 3 ft from me when there was at least 40 spots open. You guys need to figure out your downfalls because the reviews say it all. read more

Based on having to take a cold shower my whole stay i am giving it 2 stars. I couldn't get any warm water to shower.

The staff were fantastic always helpful and professional. The ladies that worked at the reward center were Fantastic. The breakfast buffet was delicious. However, someone should check the pool due to the color green. I've been to the pool a couple of times and had mentioned it to the pool people. Today 9/7 it looks like not only is the Family pool is green it looks like the Adult pool is starting to turn too. Maybe time to talk to your pool service. read more

BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS!!! this hotel is nice being next to the beach, but i've been to hotels in both cities and low population towns all across the country and this is the first time i've ever seen no fitted sheet on the bed. there was a sheet that barely fit on top of the bare mattress to cover it, but the sheets were very plasticy and slippery so it was impossible to keep the bare mattress covered and it felt extremely unsanitary given the fact that the mattress didn't seem to be cleaned. this made me uncomfortable so when i asked the front desk if a fitted sheet was available i was told that they don't carry those. the hotel itself was relatively clean however there were remnants of food throughout the room and it looked like someone may have sat on the bed near the pillows based on how the bed was made and the blankets were positioned, and the room had a strong smell of weed. i'd also like to note that bringing your own hair supplies is recommended, because the shampoo and conditioner made my hair into a sticky hay-like texture. the drains in both the sink and the shower were severely clogged as well. probably won't be back unfortunately :( read more

The trash can was filled and never removed , the walls and elevators were so dirty I couldn't think of getting near them . Thankfully we were there for only two nights . Well @ 1 time we'd of given the Resort a 3.5 -4 star . However not this time , no one's fault for the following ; phone lines were down , there was a sewerage problem in boat parking . So we were not allowed in for the SoCal show& shine boat event w/our boat , we had to get back there thru the oool area all around to back of hotel by boat parking . We were unable to preview the boats as so many also could not preview their boats . We are followers of. SoCal jet boats & have been coming here for many many years Their Events are such fun , Drama free & bring a lot of revenue to The Avi The rooms are now worn , dirty , smell musty not fresh , holes in the wall in the bedroom area by the right of picture on wall & another wallpaper pulled up by bed & another hole !! It , appears to have blood to the right of door as you exit room . Our tub keeps running needs a washer or done time of repair, the sink faucet has been soo badly worn it' needs a new on installed ? Understand it's the summer , & they have accommodated many throughout the Summer . So maybe this will get the attention of the Powers to be to return this resort back to the condition it used to be to be ! Thank you read more

There was methamphetamine in the drawer by my bed. The dresser drawer were dirty. They had crumbs all in them. There was a pair of child underwear behind one of the drawers, and one of them didn't close correctly, and I hit my leg on it. It was never addressed the whole time we were there. read more

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the handling of our recent family vacation stay at The Avi. Our trip was significantly disrupted due to issues involving two separate reservations, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment from management staff. My family traveled from California with two fully paid reservations. During our stay, one reservation was unexpectedly cancelled through Booking.com, which resulted in our family being locked out of the room. We spent hours attempting to resolve the issue with both hotel staff and Booking.com support. To make matters worse, The Avi then shortened one of our reservations by removing the final night in order to cover payment issues related to the separate reservation, despite both reservations already being paid in full. This created unnecessary stress and confusion during what was supposed to be a family vacation. Throughout this process: - We spent nearly 8 hours on the phone and speaking with management attempting to resolve the situation. - Staff and management were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to assist appropriately. - The Director of Operations refused to come out and support employees or speak with us directly regarding the situation. - No reasonable resolution or accommodation was offered despite the inconvenience and disruption caused to our family. This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We are requesting: - A full review of both reservations and payment records - An explanation regarding the cancellation and room lockout - Compensation or reimbursement for the lost vacation time and inconvenience caused - Follow-up contact from upper management regarding this matter We expected professionalism and customer service but instead experienced unnecessary stress, poor communication, and lack of accountability. read more

The Hotel is horrible! The rooms were dirty . Dust everywhere, nothing wiped down . Got to our room tv didn't work . Toilet did not flush called 2 times to get it fixed to no avail still broken . Had to go to bathroom in hotel because apparently they can't fix a toilet . Went to the pool it was extremely out of balance and murky ! Decided to have cocktails and give it a chance , very spendy ranged from 12- 24 dollars per drink not much booze in them . Beers were $10 . Apparently they were pretty proud of them . Not a good place for Non-Smokers. I didn't read the reviews. I should have. This Resort and Casino is Smoke hazard. The minute you walk through the doors, you are second hand smoking, literally. Now, people are not smoking everywhere, yet it has that life time smoke everywhere. It's in the walls, bathrooms, bedrooms. It's just about everywhere. I was feeling oozy the minute I walked in. We stayed 2 nights, for my nieces tournament. It was closed by. The room reeked of smoke. On the third day, my mom was not feeling good. She woke up stuffy nose, head ache, the works. She took a Zyrtec and then a tylenol. She got better after 2 hours. The Cleanliness of the room was bad. They didn't really clean. They did a lick, before we checked in. My family and I stayed here June 18-22, 2026 for a family reunion, and unfortunately we were very disappointed. We were placed in the Beach Towers with a pool‑facing view, and from the start the experience was frustrating. There was only one working elevator for the entire building, and the lines were constant. After checking in, we waited about 15 minutes just to get upstairs. A security guard confirmed this was "normal" and said the other elevator had been out of service for weeks. When we finally got to the room, the bathroom light revealed wads of blonde hair in multiple corners, and the floor was clearly not cleaned--there were old shoe prints everywhere. The shower had almost no water pressure, and hot water was scarce our entire stay. The AC worked fine, but the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The mattress was extremely old and lumpy--you could tell without even lying on it. We also paid an extra $30 per night for a pull‑out bed for our grandson, and the mattress was so thin you could see the metal frame through it. When we sat on it, the bars pressed right through. The pool area was okay, but with no shade and 107‑degree weather, it wasn't enjoyable. The drinks were weak and overpriced--$14 for a small margarita, and somehow ice cost an extra $8. The private beach access was nice, but the sand was scorching, so bring water shoes. The casino was clean but very smoky. On the positive side, The Feather restaurant was great for breakfast--good food at a reasonable price. We also visited the on‑site theater, and it was a surprisingly fun experience with cheap tickets and fresh popcorn. Overall, we made the best of our family time, but I would not stay at this resort again. read more

If I could give no stars I absolutley would! The lack of common courtesy and customer service is plentiful at check in. The front desk staff could care less about you so don't bother bringing any concerns to their attention. The rooms desperately need updating. The carpets are stained and the furniture is scratched and chipped. The water is brown and there were stains on the wall they couldn't even bother to wipe down. Whatever you do, DON'T look at the A/C vents because they are disgusting! I'm surprised we didn't come home with breathing problems. There was also a power outage when we visited and so the elevators did not work. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get to your room other than hiking up several flights of stairs. Not very easy if you're over 70. Again, I'd love to give zero stars for this property and the front desk, housekeeping, and management teams, but the reason they received a single star was the hardworking valet staff, the hardworking café staff, and their pool area. The room was incredibly dirty. It was very smokey in the lobby and all through the fist floor. The food at feathers was okay nothing special. The pool was warm with so much chlorine it burned your eyes just being near by. The beach was nice but the sand was too hot and would burn your feet any time you left the shade, i would stay again if the cleaned the rooms better. read more
