The sourdough pizza was really good--almost like a focaccia/Detroit-style hybrid, but with the sauce layered on the bottom. Super flavorful, crispy edges, soft inside... honestly just hit. Also--my husband was way too excited (in the best way) to see boiled peanuts on the menu, so of course we had to start there. Great call. We'll definitely be back.

Definitely not a tiny, small placed brewery...but it's true... everything is bigger in Texas! When we were at Pinthouse I spotted a Mexican Lager which is a type of lager I love and especially in warm weather... a perfect summer beer for me! The name of the beer was Burro's Breakfast. In the flavor profile of this beer you will find a naturally sweet corn flavor, some maltiness along with a tart and dry finish. The beer is light bodied like most lagers of this type and smooth in body. In addition to having a beer we also decided to get some lunch. So we got a chicken sandwich a piece along with coleslaw and had a very nice lunch. Coming to Pinthouse Brewing proved to be a good stop as we made a pretty extensive tour of the breweries in Austin.

I ordered the block party west coast double ipa (Block Party is a Double West Coast IPA dry-hopped with Citra, Centennial, and HBC 638, brewed in collaboration with their neighbors at Vacancy Brewing for their annual all-day Block Party). The beer was hoppy and smooth. There is also WiFi available if you need to logon to check emails/take calls. I highly recommend this brewery if you are in the area.

Moving to darker beer territory and the one that I liked maybe just a little bit better (but it was neck and neck) was the (512) Pecan Porter. This was a fun porter as it was on the nutty side of things as the name indicates. All the flavors blended in very nicely. Flavor features in this beer to find is sweetness, a coffee presence and of course the pecan flavor. The beer is nice and smooth and creamy in body. Two good beers from two different beer types made this beer exploration a little bit more well rounded.

The calzone was golden perfection--crispy on the outside, warm and savory within, with just the right touch of cheese and seasoning. Paired with the Caprese salad, which was beautifully plated and bursting with fresh flavor, it made for a meal that was both comforting and refined. The vibe? Effortlessly cool. Super great things about this place: Clean, staff was friendly and helpful at the ordering counter, menu was easy to read, toppings were delicious! Just a few small critiques: Once we got our food, no one ever checked on us again. Also, when the pizza was delivered to our table, no plates were brought to us, nor was any instruction given on where to get plates. We quickly found them by the beverage station, so not a huge deal. While the dough recipe was good, it seemed a little under-proofed. We had 4 large bubbles in our pizza, and the texture was a little too chewy. I love this place! We come here every Friday to end the work week and sit down with friends and family. Not only is the pizza and other food items amazing, they also have one of the best staff, their customer service is on point! They got my order wrong yesterday, instead of sending it back we said we would actually try it... and loved it! My girlfriend and I stopped here for lunch to split some pizza. This was a great option for us since she is a vegetarian and could get half the pizza her way. I was really impressed be the freshness of ingredients and how delicious the pizza crust was! Aside from the pizza they have a large selection of beers on tap. This place has a lunch special and doesn't advertise it, which makes it very sketchy that they're just trying to suck more money. Pizzas are higher priced than pinthouse, and the service is 20 times worse. Twice now we've had to walk back to the kitchen and ask if anyone is working outside. It's very close and convenient and the food is good but the first two points are tough to overlook. read more

I love coming here with my partner. We go pretty often and get the flying garlic or the buffalo chicken pizza. I don't usually eat garlic but damn can they make a good tasting pie. The service is really fast and friendly every time we go and they even have live music every now and then.
