He agreed that it is the best and I agree. When you agree with me on that, that lets me know that it is a good place. Then I found out it was actually the owner and he was very nice. He also told me that he owned Cherry Creek Catfish, I did not know that but I also don't eat fish. ( I let my manager know this fact and apparently this was a well known fact) They bring you your pizza and I will say that it was the best Hawaiian pizza I have had. Ordered a salad to start and the avocado dressing was unique, fresh and a perfect addition to the other toppings. Had to try the cashville hot chicken pie and it did not disappoint- I honestly wish I would have ordered another instead of having to share with the hubs. The flavors all come together and nothing overpowers the other somehow. Wish there was more chicken on it (just because it was so dang good). Love the atmosphere- it really makes you feel like you're in an old Austin dive spot. Everyone coming in seemed like regulars picking up their pies to-go and chatting with the staff. Their take on the Margherita strikes the perfect balance between the basil's herbaceousness and the the mozzarella's mozzarella-iness. Their love letter to garlic, the "Flying Garlic", will be a canon event for the garlic lover in your life. My go to is the Ground Control. A perfect supreme pizza, in my book. Grab one of their salads to round out the meal. They do not disappoint. As many times as I've been here, I have yet to stray from the pizzas but look forward to trying the sandwiches and calzones. I placed my to-go order online. When I arrived, parking is sparse but I was able to park behind some employee parking spaces long enough to get my order. The employee promptly greeted me at the bar and gave me the status of my pizza and gave me advice on parking. The pizza was ready when promised. It was packed in a to-go pizza box. The restaurant is vintage with a counter to place and pick up orders. They also have a bar area and tables with stools for a diner vibe. I ordered the Piazza pizza with Italian Sausage, Pomodoro, Whole Milk Mozzarella, Roasted Italian Sweet Peppers, Shallot, Basil, Black Olive, Roasted Mushroom, Calabrese Salami. I was expecting something flavorful and balanced, but it ended up being way too spicy for my taste. The heat was completely overpowering, so I couldn't really enjoy the other ingredients. I couldn't really nail down what was spicy on the pizza, I don't think it was the Italian sweet peppers so it must have been the sauce. My mouth was on fire for at least a couple of hours. The crust and overall quality seemed good, and I can tell they use fresh ingredients, but the spice level just wasn't it for me. There was nothing on the menu to indicate that this pizza would be spicy so it caught me off guard. I'd be open to trying something else on the menu next time, just maybe not the Piazza again.
