Avoid at All Costs Completely Disorganized and Unreliable This was by far the worst rental car experience I've ever had. The company clearly has no system in place to manage the reservations they accept. Despite having a confirmed booking, I call ahead to find no vehicle available and I wasn't the only one. Several other customers were left stranded with the same issue. To make matters worse, many of the cars I was told several were out of service. But, The Avis rep Mya said they are not allowed to call ahead to inform the customer that the fleet manager is unable to fill the reservation. I mean how can you to verify the status of vehicle then? What the Avis rep Mya explained sounded like a lie. How can a rental company operate when most of their fleet is broken down and they can't honor confirmed reservations? If you're counting on a rental for important travel plans, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This company is completely unreliable, unprofessional, and clearly overwhelmed. They are a scam and rip off! Avoid at all costs! I planned for a large 7 seater for over a month, when I arrived they didn't have one for me so so offered me something smaller and I had to accept so I could still travel that day. They offered me $300 off which seemed fair at the time. Now that I have returned they charged me an extra $450 claiming there was sand in the car and refused to send any pictures with evidence. read more

I hate to say this as I have been renting from Avis for a decade- after today however I would advise anyone to go elsewhere. To the woman who closed down the store today- and was in her car right at 1pm- (a time written on a piece of paper taped over the hours on the door) I had a reservation listed for a 1pm pick up, I received no call to clarify I needed to be there earlier to pick it up. She did have the time to stop and tell me they were closed but did not try and assist with getting a vehicle. Also a couple weeks prior I had a rental reservation where I received a call stating they did not have cars and didn't know when drop offs would be- that's fine because at least I didn't have to drive up there and I appreciated the advanced notice- stuff happens I get it. But, this time I just can't imagine not helping a customer who has a reservation time listed or just not calling ahead of time- terrible customer service. If I were the manager I would be looking into why this location has so many complaints and issues. read more

The worst experience where they didn't have the car I reserved and then wanted to rent me 5 classes up charging me almost $300 a day. Tried the next day when they told me they had a car for me... still not in my class. So went to another location where they confirmed a car for me. The staff person was very rude and somewhat unkind. I don't recommend renting from any Avis ever. It took twice as long to process for a pickup than any other car rental place. It's twice the price. After 200 miles you do pay more, they charge out the wazoo for gas if it's not full, three times the market rate for fuel. They do a credit check if you're using debit. $250 hold on your credit card plus the day rate for rental. Subpar selection of vehicles. It was just the worst experience ever, there's simply no competition between Avis and Enterprise. read more

I highly do not recommend this company and going forward will not rent from AVIS. This is the 3rd time I have rented from them only to show up and have no vehicle available, but yet rented my vehicle each time several months in advance. This time is the final straw and this location needs to be closed or corporate really needs to step up and handle this business. Had to wait almost one hour while in line since there was only one person working there and she happened to be late because she overslept. By the time I reached the counter, i was told the car I had already paid for was not available for possibly another 5 hours. This place is a joke. If I could give it a negative rating I would. First be warned this is a Avis Franchise not a corporate store and it shows the minute you show up to a Locked door because staff is 20 minutes late. Had a reservation for today and confirmed by phone Friday. Only to walk in and no car available for you. Staff could have cared less No apologies only comment was remember it's a reservation not a guarantee you'll get a car. Never heard that from a company that literally only rents cars. Only advice was you can sit and wait maybe one would show up. No care at all by the two ladies in sweat pants and dirty shirts. People came in that had been waiting for their car for two days only be told no vans had come in. We witnessed a van get dropped off and given to a walk in only 10 minutes before they arrived. If you're in Canton and find yourself in need of a rental do yourself a favor and drive two minutes down to enterprise. I reserved a van to take my daughter who has a medical condition requiring extra space for leg room and storage. Multiple times Avis has reserved vehicles they don't have but they are so glad to upgrade you at a ridiculous cost. I called support and they moved my reservation. Thank god I called because they didn't have the vehicle either. The manager was absolutely horrible and needs to fired immediately. Very rude! After renting and paying for a vehicle last week, returning it safe and sound (to and from a different Avis location) this location basically makes it impossible for you to rent without a major credit card. My son is here with a debit card and used it for last weeks' rental He has plenty of money on the card for the one day rental but now they want to do a full credit check? Social security number and everything? On top of that the clerk is rude and very disorganized This was not disclosed on the reservation and we drove one hour to pick up this car and now he is stuck NOT Stuck!!! They don't even deserve a one rating. They are horrible. If you don't have a major credit card and want to use your debit/bank card, they will do a credit check and if you don't have the proper "credit score" they will decline your rental. I told the guy I didn't want my credit report ran and his response was "well I guess you won't be renting a car then." Very unprofessional and extremely rude. Picked up a large SUV for vacation May 19th, rental had half a thank of gas. Didn't really think anything of it, I have picked up rentals with half tanks before. Upon returning, returned with half tank. Rental agent argued with me that could not be the case, he had a buddy do him a favor and fill it up. I'm a frequent Avis renter for both business and personal but after today's interaction and the way it was handled I will be rethinking my future rental options. I have sent in my complaint to Avis awaiting a response. On a second note we found several belongings from the previous renter in the car, water bottle, car charger, lip gloss,magazines. all in plain view. read more

Do not rent a vehicle from this location!!!! We reserved and paid for a SUV a month in advance. We received emails and texts the week leading up to the rental date saying we are all ready to go and the car was there waiting for us. We received a phone call 10 minutes before our reservation time saying they were cancelling the reservation and they don't have a car for us. I went up to the location because they won't answer there phone and stated how unhappy I was about the situation. I explained that we were leaving for a cruise and needed the car to drive to Miami and it was unacceptable to cancel the reservation 10 minutes before. I was at the office for about 1 1/2 hours and I watched the 2 guys sit behind the counter with the phone ringing constantly and they never answered it one time. We finally got in contact with the district manager and he got us the SUV at a different location in Woodstock and they were very nice and helpful. The car was a little more expensive and the district manager said they would refund the difference which they did not refund. The 2 guys that work at this location should not even be employed there. They have an I don't care attitude, never answer the phone and have absolutely no customer service. Someone higher up at Avis really needs to monitor these 2 associates. They are getting paid to do absolutely nothing. Worst associates I have ever seen or dealt with!!! read more
