We had no choice but to use Avis for a rental, as the AC went out in my car, prompting an immediate need for repair. I was already dreading the process because (due to Covid-19) I've become a self-mandated prisoner, avoiding any contact with the public, only using curbside and drive-thru for necessities. Got off to a bad start as I was given a car that was nothing like my small Sedan even though I was told a comparable vehicle would be available. This Jeep had no key, turned itself off and on, decided what radio stations I should hear, and lacked all familiar buttons for necessary functions (opening gas tank door, turning off lights, locking doors, etc). However, my rental experience really climaxed when I was fumbling with the interior compartments attempting to find a spot to set my receipt. Reaching in the door, my hand grasped a fabric mask! In the midst of a pandemic, Avis actually left someone's potentially Covid-covered face mask inside what should have been a sanitized vehicle! Not only does this act of carelessness defy this company's "EPA Approved" disinfectant claim, but also ensures that I will never return to this rental establishment. I'm really hoping I have not been exposed to the Coronavirus because of the face mask, and am still in my 14-day waiting period looking for potential symptoms to arise. read more
