The problems started after we returned the car. First, we left several personal items in the vehicle door. We reported exactly what was missing, and Enterprise told us they found items and would send them back. When we received the package, only part of our belongings were returned. Not surprisingly, the only items that came back were AirPods (which can be tracked) and a cheap pair of sunglasses. Over $1,000 worth of other items that were in the same place were never returned, and they claimed those items were not there. That is very hard to believe. Second, we were charged an additional $1,022 that Enterprise cannot explain. No one has been able to tell us what the charge is for. We had to file a dispute with our credit card company just to protect ourselves. Finally, trying to get help has been extremely frustrating. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone at this location, and calls are not returned. Email responses, when we did get them, were not helpful and did not address our concerns. Losing over $1,000 in personal belongings and being charged another $1,000 with no explanation, combined with poor customer service and lack of accountability, makes this a very disappointing experience. We will not be using this location again.

It was expensive, I think there may have been an extra charge because it was the airport. I wasn't thrilled. When I arrived I was helped by a really nice, cool guy. He was really friendly and seemed to be genuinely concerned with my experience as a customer. We had a nice chat. I was then assisted by someone else who guided me to the cars. She was very nice and very pleasant also. I got to choose from a few vehicles. This was great because I am very tall and I could stand to lose a few pounds. Okay, more than a few. Fine. I got a nice newer car. It was really dirty though. I guess I was more concerned with fitting comfortably in it. The car was fine. It was comfortable and fuel efficient. Good for my budget. I took it to the car wash but that didn't do the trick. I then suspected that Enterprise may have washed it before I picked it up but some of the dirt was just too attached. Who knows? I pre purchased fuel because I was originally planning to keep the car for a few weeks. I only ended up keeping it for a few days though. There was a change of plans. It was good news, except I had a full tank of fuel. I returned the car early, but it was kind of late at night. There was one guy that I saw working. He was not as pleasant as the previous Enterprise staff members. He eventually helped me with the return. He assured me the billing would be adjusted properly. I was all set. I called another ride share. For whatever reason, it took a very long time. PIE isn't a super busy airport so I was surprised. I did eventually get home in time to make a very important, but private phone call that I would not want to make on the ride share. Overall, the experience was not too bad but the value was offset in a huge way by the two ride shares, me washing the car and me(my mistake) purchasing that full tank of fuel. I mean I think those four things totaled well over $130.00. My rating reflects shortcomings in service and value, even though two of the three people that I dealt with personally were very nice. Car was dirty and parallel parked close to barrier wall and inches from other cars. Lucky to leave without damage. I reserved a Hyundai Venue or similar. Certainly did not get that. National Customer Service noted a car swap which Mirek declined to assist or process. Luckily the location at the Tampa Airport came through with best in class customer service not only a van but even saved me gas with a hybrid. Calls and Emails just says sorry, when my family could and myself could have been put into a harmful situation.

After more than eight hours and seven phone calls, the car was finally towed, for some reason, National decided to charge me for two days, even though they were unwilling to bring me a replacement car. I've called National, I've emailed National and I've turned in a customer complaint with National. Auto responses, no one at National cares enough to communicate with me. I've been a national executive member various companies for more than 20 years yet can not get anyone to respond to me. My relationship with National is definitely over, ridiculous that something so easy can't get resolved.

We had to wait for the cars to be ready and our daughter's car was dented and scratched and the brakes didn't work properly- had to take it back for another car because it was unsafe. We have been disputing additional charges that was charged to our card for a month now- Our receipt went to our daughters email and vice versa- she was charged $200 more on her bill too. The prepaid amounts are mixed up on our receipts. What a mess. All because of a counter rep that took forever to process even though we have an avis account and license in the system. The counter rep was incompetent. I am disputing with my credit card now because email dispute through Avis is a waste- they keep sending my dispute info to our daughters email! I DO NOT recommend this company- we travel several times a year and now, will rent from another rental car company. unfortunately, budget and Avis are one but I'll be looking elsewhere. There are 2 post-security areas: gates 2-6 and gates 7-11. Each have enough food and drink options to help you kill time. I like the gates 2-6 area. If there's any lightning in the area, you can't get off your plane. There's routinely lightning here, if not more often than almost any place in the United States. Unlike their nearby TPA, they not only botched the design, but as the airport continues to expand and be renovated, they continue to ignore this fundamental part of airport construction. But then again, why spend the money, when you can just leave your customers on the tarmac over and over again, even when there's no rain, when the other airports in the area have all seem to have figured this out?
