Allegiant app is the worst. It constantly crashes. Changing your password is an absolute nightmare

We are recommended by the TSA to get to the airport 3 hrs early but Allegiant doesn't let you check in until an hour before your flight. I guess the employees aren't competent enough to keep track of your luggage. Allegiant is the only airline that does this. We also were delayed another hour and half because the first officer couldn't get to work on time. The flight attendants are extremely unprofessional and the airplane was dirty. I suggest paying a slightly higher fare for an airline that cares for its customers. Allegiant Airline is a bottom feeder in the industry. read more

My wife and I really LOVE Allegiant Airlines. Costs are low, services are always point on and best of all - NO seat reclining. While they may go to every major city, there is usually a regional airport close by. For example instead of paying 3x to 5x for a flight to Charlotte, NC, we fly to Concord, NC, 15-20 minutes north of Charlotte. Same to visit in-laws in way northern MD,, much cheaper to fly to Harrisburg, PA, which is 30 minutes away, rather than BWI, 90 minutes away. My wife is handicapped and they always cater to any needs she has getting to and from gates and on and off planes. They have been fantastic. We still love to travel and always fly Allegiant whenever we can. And that's not the best part! They give veterans an even sweeter deal! No bag fee, no carry on fee and no seat fee - unless you want to reserve specific seats. As a retired Marine who served in Vietnam, it's great for the recognition. Love dis airline!!! read more

I have had no issues with the flights. However, the check in process is the worst I have ever used, I traveled for a living prior to retiring and their process is the worst. They ask for you to check in up to 24 hours in advance. Regardless of using the App or the Website, it will not allow you to actually allow you to complete the process, They state you must call an agent. This takes a minimum of 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. The agent still can't check you in but they can place a note in your file do you don't have to pay the $5 printing fee for your pass. This is unacceptable. Not worth it. read more

Flew on this airliner for the first and last time this weekend. Between the the ridiculous mark ups if you check your bags at the airport, or refusing to refund you if you purchased an extra checked bag by accident, save yourself the hassle. If you're trying to save money by avoiding more expensive flights don't even bother. They'll get you one way or the other. Take the more expensive flight. Allegiant is the most frequently flown airline at St Pete- Clearwater Airport (PIE). Everyone compares it to an airbus. As a chauffeur I track the flights of my passengers and I can say that Allegiant has the poorest on time record of any airline. They are frequently more than 1/2 hr late, often over 1 hr late. Take this tardiness into account when planning your trip! read more

What can I say, you know going in that this is a budget airline so it's like going to McDonalds and expecting a filet it's just not going to happen. That being said, we choose this airline when we are trying to get from point A to B without connecting and often they get us there. For example, we live in land o lakes and if we want to get to Greenville, SC we drive to St Pete and fly Allegiant and have never had an issue. Otherwise, flying out of Tampa, we have to connect in which is a nightmare. The key is to know ahead of time either pack very light or buy everything online to reduce cost. Get mentally prepared for travel which let's face it's sucks know matter what. That's a whole issue for discussion about an industry that is allowed to abuse its customers and get away with it! read more

And they canceled after 7 1/2 then just made us find a new airplane then later said We found a rental car after they just left us and give us a refund we couldn't find any hotel so we had to drive to Orlando to get a new plane ride for $1000 and got no sleep and I couldn't even give us like a hotel. Flew from Knoxville on 8/4/25, had return flight suppose to be 8:33 pm on 8/11. Around 10am ,got message from airline flight GS3020 from Knoxville TN to PIE Tampa was delayed. That being 10 hours in future didn't think much about it. Then at 12 pm ,got message to arrive at airport 2 hours b4 regular schedule. I figured delay was gone. Turn in rental car, got to airport at 6:15,showed flight was dealayed 1 he 37 minutes. Agents assured us we would leave at 10:15 pm and arrive in Knoxville a little after midnight. About 10 minutes later and agent on mic, announced,no more flights tonight, flight delayed until 11:55 am next day. Said plane on ground in Knoxville but pilot sick and couldn't find a replacement. They had changed our flight number from 3020 to 3048, saying flight not cancelled just delayed and was giving us a $200 voucher on our checking account. Why would I give them access to my account ? I ask for half my money back,was going to rent a car and drive home, they refused,saying flight not cancelled,just delayed. How do you give a flight that was Gs3020, change it to a new flight number GS 3048 and claim that's the same flight. Anyway here I set,no car,no motel, very little money ( voucher was to be added $200 next day). It one hell of a way to run an airline,and still makes me mad that I sat there 4 hours after they knew 10 to 12 hours earlier that flight was going to be delayed. read more

I would give allegiant air a Zero if I could, no stars. They are so unfriendly to servicing the customer. Definitely will not fly with them again even if it's cheaper. When I call or chat, no one responds even though it says they are open 24/7. I needed to change my flight and couldn't get ahold of anyone 2 weeks out. Now that it's 7 days out they still have not responded to my email. And if I want to change, I have to pay a fee of $25 plus double the price of what I paid for the ticket. This is a rip off. I understand a fee for making changes, but they are just abusing. It's better to pay a bit more with other airlines but know that I can make adjustments without paying a penalty fee. I used to love Allegiant. Not anymore. Pre-pandemic, I loved flying Allegiant. It is the only airline that has nonstops to some of the places I travel to the most. Sure, the seats are as minimally padded as possible, every thing costs extra but the convenience was well worth it. I had two trips cancelled during the pandemic, and good on Allegiant for issuing me credit that lasted a really long time. It was easy to redeem, too. I also appreciate that Military can check two bags free. That's where the happiness ends. I've flown Allegiant two round trips in the last four months and it is really pretty terrible. First trip, both flights were delayed. Both flights were FULL. Both flights were at a horrible, cramped, gate area where mask requirements were an unfulfilled wish. The flight crews did not enforce mask wearing. Ugh. This latest trip, I fully expected frustrations. It was Thanksgiving weekend, people and their dumb selves would be everywhere. And they were. Our flight out of St Pete....was delayed. The gate was crowded. The flight itself was like riding a bus. The 'tray' was the size of an ipad mini. Our return flight....was delayed. And delayed again. And again. And again. A three hour delay in a windowless, cramped gate area with no plugs for charging. Literally the only gate in the terminal with those qualities. Updates were uninformative. Passengers grew tired of masking. FINALLY we boarded. An hour later we were still sitting there with the plane door open. The copilot did not properly wear his mask. One of the FA's did not properly wear her mask. In good news, we got all our luggage, but lost most of our day due to this nonsense. 100% of the four flights I've taken since this summer with Allegiant have been delayed. I will not fly them again. I will pay more and have layovers to avoid this clown show. read more

Customers do not come first' The long lines of passengers snaking down one aisle, then another and still third while traveling to multiple cities took 45 minutes this morning even though I was there more than two hours early. They needed additional staff to handle the different travelers to different cities. Allegiant Air kept pulling out passengers whose flights were sooner, be served first, while lines of frustrated travelers waited to be served. Very inefficient. The flights were crowded, cramped and everything was for purchase including water. Is it a great deal after we added on extra to take or send a bag, buy a water or a coke for $4.00, and pay for your seat? Were they expecting you to stand? In fairness, you can elect to let them assign you a seat. I chose that option and when I asked the staff at the gate desk if my seat was an aisle seat, I was told YES. But that was incorrect. It was a window seat and I was trapped in there for the flight. With the waiting, frustration and cramped condition, plus with the additional fees for a seat, a bag and a drink, it's no bargain in the end and for this traveler, it's not worth it! Of course if we'd just sign up for their credit card we'd get all these great freebird unlike those without it who get nothing! Punitive. read more

This review has 1 star because I can't give them less than 1. Don't let the cheap rates fool you. The service SUCKS!!!! We understood our outbound flight being delayed (5hrs) due to weather. But our return flight was a joke. It began with a 30 min delay. Then they board us and sit our plane on the tarmac for 45 min. While on the tarmac, our pilot proceeds to tell us that he had been behind schedule ALL DAY!!! After 45 min on the tarmac, they have us deboard because our pilots had run out of hours and they needed to find 2 new pilots. An hour after sitting in the airport for another hour, they tell us the flight has now been cancelled and rescheduled for 24 hours later. They don't even bother to give us a hotel room for the night. This is absolute BULLSHIT customer service!!!! To top it all off, they tell us they will be giving each passenger a $250 refund for "our troubles" but when I go to the link they provided, it turns into a $175 credit. Not only did we have to spend extra money on a room for the night, I just lost a 12 hour shift at work today by being held hostage several states away. This is my first and LAST trip with Allegiant!!!! read more

The worst customer service ever!!! Canceled first leg of a round trip flight so we had to rent a car to get to our destination. Then the ticket agent said we would get a refund for the first leg and still fly home on the second leg. For 3 days it was in my itinerary on the app then disappeared and when I tried to find it they had canceled the return flight when the flight is still flying on Monday. To the book the tickets to get home or was twice the price!!! Beyond upset! Awful airline!!! You can't teach by phone and email takes 3 to 4 days to respond and by that time our flight will have left!! Couldn't go through the website to get help either!!!! read more

After two flights with Allegiant, I expect they will be my last. Even with an Allegiant credit card ($59 annual fee) there seems to be no benefit unless you travel often and accumulate points. The advertised ticket prices usually seem like a bargain as long as you don't need a seat to sit in or have a checked bag (40lb limit) OR carry-on. (Yes, you have to pay for each). The added fees are ridiculous and (once totaled) aren't less expensive compared to online ticket prices of a major airline. Although masks are still required, physical distancing IS NOT possible in the overcrowded gates OR packed-full airplanes no matter how many times they repeat it over the intercom. Both legs of our last flight were 30+ minutes late, specifically allowed to board 1 hour late and had to sit 30 minutes longer on the tarmac for fuel. I will miss the smaller airports and easier/friendlier TSA process but it's not worth the ridiculous fees. read more

I have to admit, I was nervous with all the negative reviews. I had the BEST experience. I was on flight 819 to Norfolk and the entire staff was amazing. I have a service dog and they made it as easy as possible for me. I am so grateful for such a caring and kind crew. No issues with take off time, bags or anything. Also great protocols with COVID. Handed out sanitizer, masks and gloves. Had empty rows between everyone. Amazing deal for a $35 flight!! read more

Taking a quick 90 min flight to NC which is the only reason I fly this airline. They are not practicing social distancing. They are giving surgical face masks if you don't have one but they are not N95. They assigned me a middle seat. IMO to force me to buy an isle seat. I wiped down the tray table because I have no confidence the cleaning folks did a good job in 7 minutes. Be Leary is all I'll say. read more

I am beyond grateful for Allegiant airlines, because it has allowed me to go back home and see my family and friends more often than if I were to use a big airline because of their durable ticket prices. I find it a lot easier too, because it's smaller, it's a less confusing process. I love that I don't have to pay to bring a personal item and adding luggage isn't too expensive for your longer trips. For the most part, everyone I've worked with has been nice, so no complaints there. The only thing that is annoying is the lack of leg room. I am short, so I feel for the taller people. Overall, I'm grateful for the smaller airlines that allow people who can't afford an expensive ticket to still have the luxury of traveling. read more

I've had nothing but terrible experiences with this airline. I have voiced my concern each time, but have never heard from their "customer service team". I've had horrid experiences both with customer service and the flight in general. Allegiant tries to pride themselves on saving you money, biggest lie I have ever heard. Once you look at their hidden fees, you're paying way more than you ever would on a normal airline. Understandable people have bad days, but if I have flown this airline more than 20 times (with the exact same free carry-on bag used) why this time is the woman rude and forcing us to pay $100 to fly with our bags? As I was putting my bag into the measuring device (mind you it fits perfectly under my seat) she would not even give me a chance to put it all the way in. She charged me and my fiancé each $50. We have never had this problem. All in all, I have had nothing but absolutely terrible experiences with this airline. I will never be flying them again. They seem to have an issue with their scales. We packed a bag for 4 days. Bought nothing and sent our dirty clothes home with a family member who was driving. Somehow we were still over weight by 2.3 lbs. for an airline who iNEVER on-time, they make you repack your cloths for 1lb. Finding out after spending $600 for a flight probably due to buying yesterday to get to my uncle's funeral tomorrow, I have to pay an extra $20 for a carry-on bag! This is not going to go well. I flew from Clearwater/St. Pete, FL up to Traverse City , MI last week to visit relatives. The flight going up was fine, we were delayed leaving because of lightning, but not Allegiant's fault. The flight coming home was not good! After being delayed about 25 minutes, we finally got on the plane and the flight attendant made the usual speech about "Welcome to Allegiant, blah, blah, blah. IF THERE'S ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO MAKE YOUR FLIGHT MORE COMFORTABLE, PLEASE ASK ONE OF YOUR FLIGHT ATTENDANTS!" So, I asked the nearest flight attendant who was walking towards me down the aisle, "Excuse me, what time will we arrive in Clearwater?" (so I could call my ride and let them know!) The flight attendant (Cynthia) snapped back at me "I'M COUNTING!!!" Well, excuse ME! I had no idea she was SILENTLY COUNTING TO HERSELF!!! Her colleague just announced over the P.A. system "IF THERE'S ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO MAKE YOUR FLIGHT MORE COMFORTABLE, PLEASE ASK ONE OF YOUR FLIGHT ATTENDANTS!" Maybe CYNTHIA didn't hear this. Maybe CYNTHIA was having a bad day. Maybe CYNTHIA just had a fight with her boyfriend/husband/whatever. Maybe CYNTHIA wasn't feeling well. MAYBE CYNTHIA SHOULDN'T BE WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! So I asked a different flight attendant "Excuse me, what time will we arrive in Clearwater?" and she politely said "2 hours and 47 minutes, I'll have to calculate what time that is.", and she walked away. Never coming back to tell me, her customer, what ACTUAL TIME we would be landing. Now I know I can figure out the time, but this just shows the COMPLETE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AT Allegiant Airlines! The pilot never came on the P.A. and made the customary speech about when we would arrive, weather conditions, sit back and enjoy, blah, blah, blah. About 1 hour into the flight, flight attendant CYNTHIA came up to the front of the plane to heat up some food (which smelled VILE!!!) and as she walked past me she stopped and said "Excuse me, what are listening to?" I said "It's a radio" (I was using earbuds, not disturbing anybody) CYNTHIA said " I don't FEEL COMFORTABLE with you using that, please put it away!" I said "It's just an AM/FM radio." CYNTHIA  parroted the line "Well, it's possible that it could INTERFERE with the planes navigation system, so I need you to stop using it." I turned off the radio and said " It's only a receiver, it can't interfere with anything." CYNTHIA again told me it made HER UNCOMFORTABLE. I put the little AM/FM radio away and said "I guess you're mad because I asked you what time we would be arriving in Clearwater." CYNTHIA said ,"Well, I WAS COUNTING!" I said "Well, I guess you're getting even with me for asking." CYNTHIA  smiled an evil smile and said "No sir, that's not it." and she walked away to eat her food. AM/FM radio signals would make the sky glow if human beings could see them. There are THOUSANDS of AM/FM radio stations across America and the world. THEY DO NOT INTERFERE WITH AIRLINE NAVIGATION!!! THEY DO NOT INTERFERE WITH AIRLINE NAVIGATION!!! These signals are in the air 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, WETHER I AM LISTENING TO THEM OR NOT!!! My little Radio Shack AM/FM pocket radio does not, CAN NOT, BROADCAST OR CREATE ANY TYPE OF RADIO SIGNAL!!! However, the old lady sitting in the same row as me who kept trying to get a cell phone signal so she could SEND, i.e. TRANSMIT the pictures she was taking out the window to her son, THAT DID NOT BOTHER CYNTHIA AT ALL!!! If Allegiant's flight attendants are so ignorant that they don't know this (Cynthia in particular!!!) then maybe they should not be empowered to enforce safety rules that THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! So CYNTHIA is a power hungry B****h, who likes to bully people (maybe men in particular) on her flights to and from St. Pete. Maybe she is an unhappy person, maybe her man mis-treats her at home so she takes it out on other men she sees. Maybe she just shouldn't work with the public. But she ruined my experience on Allegiant and I will be posting this everywhere possible on the internet. Also, the captain had the SEATBELT light on for almost the entire 3 hour flight. But yet the flight attendants were up and walking. Sometimes selling drinks and snacks, sometimes just wandering around chatting with each other. It seems to me that it is either SAFE or UNSAFE to be unbuckled and moving around for both the customers and flight attendants. read more

What I didn't expect was the stewardess to smack the seat with the safety card in front of my mother in law repeatedly in order to get her attention. She couldn't hear her well, so I guess that means to be rude to get her attention? The caulking job was a bit alarming... All in all don't expect anything but a ride to your destination. Flew this airline for the first time. My family of 4 had an all around excellent experience. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I found that the isle you walk down is larger than some other airlines allowing for extra room to maneuver into the overhead storage bins. We flew Albany to Clearwater and back and it was a great experience. I will say I witnessed an older lady without a boarding pass. If you don't have it printed or on Your phone they will charge you $5.00 for one. The person working the area took her aside and helped her download the app to save her the money. Everyone was extremely helpful. I will definitely fly with them again. (PSA I am a JetBlue care holder and have always been partial to them but allegiant will always be in the running when I look for flights. Clearwater airport is a no frills airport however I enjoyed coming and going from them. Tampa has been a nightmare in the past. read more

Superbowl weekend was my first round trip flight on Allegiant from St. Pete/ Clearwater to Austin. My flight was uneventful. The lounge area is unlike the huge expanses of TIA, but it's large enough to hold passengers for a couple of flights. This was the size of airports in the sixties and early seventies, when passengers walk out onto the tarmac up onto a ramp to enter and exit the plane. I found the flight attendants to be quite friendly and accommodating. I was the aisle seat with two other passengers next to me when I noticed after closing the plane's door three seats were vacant on the same row. The flight attendant OK'd my request to move to the vacant seat which gave more room to my fellow passengers which they appreciated. I have made similar requests on other airlines to be denied my request with the attitude if they can't sell it no one is going to sit there. My flights in and out of Austin were very smooth on the Airbus 320. In fact when we were about to land one can usually feel the plane depending waiting for the tires to hit the runway. This time we were suddenly on the ground without much notice. Well done! Yes, Allegiant is no frills, with food and drinks extra. Not an issue. I'd rather save 50% off the fare from flying out of Tampa! That's huge! It allows me to fly more often and I will on Allegiant. Feb 22, 2019 Allegiant has chosen to no longer fly to Austin from St. Pete/Clearwater. The closest airport is now Sanford, near Orlando which is 126 miles further east, and almost a two hour drive each way depending on traffic. Make sure you have cash for their toll roads! read more
