One star for when I picked up the vehicle. ZERO stars for when I returned the rental. Horrible customer service and disregard for my family's safety!! Upon returning the vehicle, I needed to visit the agent to report two concerning issues with the vehicle. I waited in line for over 30minutes and asked the agent for quicker service. This is my right as a paying customer. The agent, named "Lance", got upset because I asked for speedier service. When it was my turn at the counter, Lance provided the worst service, which was completely different from the service to the customers ahead of me. I explained to him that the rental had two bald rear tires with thread showing, and the gas opener was broken, requiring a tool to open it. "Lance" wrote it down and said nothing. He asked for the mileage and gas level, which I provided. Throughout this period, he gave me the silent treatment and failed to answer my questions about safety. He then printed my receipt and gestured for me to go away. I asked for his name, but he refused, acting childish by repeating, "What's your name, what's your name." Luckily, I heard him share his name with the previous customer. His name is LANCE and his boss is BRIAN, which you can deduce from earlier ratings, they're not on the customer's side. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. If you have to, expect long waits, crampy service, old vehicles with dangerous equipment, and no concern for customer safety. read more

I generally enjoy renting from Avis, but this location is the worst. Unfortunately, it is the only location in North PS. The employees are rude and they are consistent at this. The vehicles are almost always dirty, outside and inside. On long weekends and holidays, the line can be incredibly long, normally with one employee manning the desk and a high risk they won't have a vehicle for your reservation. If you have to rent from Avis this will be your only option North of Bellevue. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received, employees are rude and lazy, first time I came in, the Asian man helped me at first, we ran into a small issue and the guy didn't wanna do anything to help come up with a solution or fix it , the TEENAGER working with him however got it delt with in minutes (he was great) then the other guy proceeded to tell me, "I'm just not a nice person so it's good he's helping you" Went in today for another rental that I had already paid for online, ran into another issue, with the name on card and name on file not matching. Lots of headaches with Avis on the return. They charged us an excessive cleaning fee for car that was not at all dirty. Their own evidence and report stated that car had some sand and the severity was light. Nothing more than what you would expect after a 5 day rental in Washington where it rains all the time. I wouldn't recommend renting from here for their excessive hidden and unjustifiable fees. read more

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my experience with your Everett, WA locations -- specifically involving a reservation I made on July 17 for pickup on July 18 at your Everett EV6 office (12227 Highway 99) near Paine Field (PAE). I had every intention of picking up the car at the reserved location (Highway 99 office). On July 17, I called that office to ask about transportation options from the airport. I spoke with Reggie, who -- in a condescending tone -- told me that if my flight number was included, my car would be waiting at the PAE airport location. Based on that information, I went to the airport counter after landing. When I arrived, the Avis team at Paine Field told me they had no record of my reservation. I explained what Reggie had told me and showed them my confirmation. They stated that both locations report to the same manager, Brian, and put me in touch with him. Rather than resolving the issue, Brian explicitly denied me the ability to pick up the car at either location, even though I offered to Uber to the original pickup location (Highway 99) to retrieve the vehicle as planned. Instead, he instructed Reggie to cancel my reservation outright, despite the fact that I was attempting to correct a miscommunication caused by their own staff. During this entire ordeal, I observed plenty of vehicles available at the lot and watched other customers being helped without issue. I also reminded the staff that I was an Avis Preferred member, which they dismissed entirely. Because of this, I was forced to: * Pay $150 for a rideshare to Seatac Airport * Spend $200 more to rent from Hertz * Arrive 5 hours late to my destination, delayed by traffic both ways This incident cost me $350, caused significant disruption, and exposed a serious failure in how Avis treats its customers. Brian's outright refusal to let me pick up the vehicle I reserved -- at either location -- and his decision to cancel the reservation instead of fixing the problem created by his team was completely unacceptable. His and Reggie's behavior reflects poorly on Avis and undermines trust in your service. I am requesting the following: 1. A written explanation of why my reservation was canceled 2. Accountability for the behavior of Brian and Reggie 3. Reimbursement for the $350 in costs I incurred due to this incident 4. Confirmation that this matter has been formally escalated within your organization I will avoid Avis in the future, but I expect a proper response and resolution from your corporate team. read more

This is a very good Avis rental car location. I booked a weekend rental, and the team member that opened Saturday when I picked up my vehicle was extremely helpful. The car initially received had low tire pressure, so the team member immediately got me a new vehicle and got me on the road. Drop off was seamless and my entire rental experience was good. While I don't like to leave poor reviews, this facility gave me particularly bad service yesterday. I had to come here to pick up a garage opener for a client who accidentally left it in one of their rental cars. The guy at the counter was extremely rude the whole time I was there. As soon as I explained what I was there to pick up, he dumped all of the garage openers they had in the office at the side of the front desk, leaving me to awkwardly stand there and sort through them. After I went to show him the confirmation number to verify the customer I was picking up the item for, he continued to have a bad attitude towards me for no apparent reason, speaking to me as if I came to bother him. The other employees were also rude and did not acknowledge me or try to speed up the process so all of us could continue going about our day sooner. Rented a car for 5:30 pm pickup. My flight was running late, so I called ahead. But there's no way to reach the local car rental office, only a call center. And the call center can't reach the local facility. The call center said not to worry because they would stay open to accommodate a late flight. They did not stay open. I reserved a Jeep 4Xe from 8am to 8pm for a trip from the Seattle area to the Portland area to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler. I didn't pick up the Jeep until 10am. The Avis rep stated I needed to pick a drop off location or chance a $300 fee! So she wrote down the Avis location nearest my destination. At pick up the Jeep had just over 1/2 tank of fuel on hybrid mode. Due to non-stop on and off traffic my 4 hour trip turned into a 6 hour trip. After finalizing my purchase of my Jeep, I left the dealership to top of the fuel in the rental before returning to the location I was given by the Avis rep. The location I was given had no option for key drop off and no staff on site. So I spent the next hour driving around a strange city at night trying to locate an Avis location I could drop the rental off at with no luck! My last option was to drive over 30 minutes to the Portland Airport to drop it off. I arrived around 10:30pm, and they didn't do anything more than to have me leave the keys on the dash and walk away. No inspection or paperwork/receipt of return. I dropped it off with 1/4 more fuel then I picked it up with, and had the Jeep just over 12 hour. The vehicles engine light was on the whole trip, I kept getting notifications it was past due for an oil change, and depending on what mode (out of the 3) the fuel gauge read differently. That is why I ended up putting and extra quarter tank in. Today I checked my credit card and saw an EXTRA charge of almost $95! When I called Avis they said I was charged a $60 fuel charge and a late fee!! They are trying to charge me a late fee on a 1 day rental that I had for ONLY half a day!! Then $60 fuel fee even though I returned it with more fuel then I picked it up with! I called the number on my paperwork to dispute it just to be given another number to call just to be told they don't handle disputes on weekends and to call back Monday! It is diabolical to charge "late fees" on a day rental that I had for about 12 hours, and equally ridiculous to charge $60 fuel charges when I put an extra quarter tank in a Jeep that is days away from heading to the scrap yard!! read more

When they changed staff after the rebuild/move of the facility-they ended up with a better building and rude staff. Never the car you requested, always with external damage. If you have no choice but to rent here, be careful about inspecting the car and get the LDW. Cars are seldom cleaned correctly and the fuel filled. Like Avis , just not this location. I've rented cars all over the world and this is top to tail the worst experience I've ever had. Our flight was delayed, when I got to the rental place there was a sign with a number for a shuttle, the number rang unanswered. I got forwarded to corporate who informed me they'd charge me an extra $200 because I "missed" my rental window (because there was no shuttle). Then when I got there I got a beat up Toyota with damage to. And the final insult? They charged me an extra $125 because there were a few crumbs on the seat (I have a kid) and two snack wrappers that I missed when unloading my toddler in the pooring rain because there were no employees who could be found and I had to hunt them down. This is the most dishonest car company that I have ever dealt with! I rented a car for three days. On day two, check engine light and second light (that I don't know what it was) came on in the vehicle. It was only driven less than 10 miles at this point to the hotel I was staying at. On day two, we were 30 minute outside of town when the lights came on minutes apart. We attempted to call Avis, but speaking to someone is IMPOSSIBLE! So we opted to turn around and drive back to where we rented the car. BTW, this vehicle was an "upgrade" because the type I rented was not available. It was the only car left in the lot.....hmmmm.....maybe because they knew it was a bad vehicle. When I went back, no cars were available so they had to get another from an Avis one mile down the road. They made me take the car and fill it up with gas with engine light on etc (we had used an 1/8th of a tank) and most of that was because I had to turn around and come back. After I came back from topping it off, I asked the attendant her name... Amy.....because I thought it was unsafe to take the car back out and very poor customer service and I've now wasted two hours trying to get another car. She was also very rude. Today, I get the bill. They charged me for gas (I have two receipts showing where I filled up both cars and my first vehicle wasn't even full when I got it). I was also charged a one way trip fee for them bringing me a vehicle. Avis, you rented me a bad vehicle....how is this MY fault? This is a scam!! Avis, you lost a customer for life. My insurance rental ended and I decided to use my Boeing discount to rent a car from this Avis!! My reservation was for a month for small/medium size sadan!! When I went In I was given the keys to a car with white fabric seats with Brown stains and the smell that forgive me smelled like someone had taken a #2 and rubbed their shitty hands all over the seats!! The car smells so bad I had never smelled a car like that!! When I tell the front staff I'm told " ppl just don't take care of their rentals" that's not true cuz I've never driven a rental in those conditions!! Long story short I was given a mustang soft top convertible and was told "that's outlet only other car, and we won't charge u extra for it" so I guess my options where to take the "shit smeared car" or the soft top 2 seater in middle of winter Tuesday this week before the snow storm hit us here i calls and asked if I could bring the car in and switch to a "normal car" I was told "oh we only have 1car in ur reservation class and don't know if I'll get it by time u get here" I asked if I could change my reservation and still get my discount since it can only be used 1time! I was told " no sorry I'll have to just pay the normal price or keep the car for the next 2weeks till ur reservation is over" so I have a soft top sitting stuck in my lot since Monday in the snow storm and I am paying to NOT ISE IT!! Do not rent from this location. We placed a reservation over 3 months ago, in preparation for the Ragnar team race, for a 15 passenger van. When we arrived at the pick up time they had already given the van away. We received a phone call at 3:45pm, talked with Preston that we would be there in an hour. Preston indicated that our vehicle would be ready when we arrived. When we arrived at 4:45,a customer was irritated with Preston over misrepresentation of a rate that he called in (a Boeing employee), that customer had been there for over an hour trying to resolve their issue When it was our turn, I handed the confirmation over and we discovered that they gave our van away. We are now unable to participate in our race that we have been looking forward to for the better part of a year. Again, stay away from this location. read more

Do not reserve a car here. I have rented many cars from many different rental agencies in just about every state I have been to, and not once did I have to run my credit to do so. I reserved a mini van for 1 week at least a month before today and nowhere on my contract did I consent to a credit check. Upon arriving I handed my information over to the two gentlemen working behind the counter. About 5 minutes later they asked if I had another card to reserve the vehicle with... I was using a business debit card with a good amount of money to work with. I looked at them and asked why, and they simply said to me because experian won't allow us to take this card. After asking many questions I then found out they ran a credit report without my consent and apparently I didn't qualify. Mind you I just rented from alamo rental company and enterprise both two months prior and fortunately again later today after this crisis. Unfortunately because I had to reserve a last minute vehicle I was stuck paying twice as much gratefully because enterprise is the only place in town that had any full size vehicle. I rented a car from this Avis car rental location on January 17th. The staff were super helpful and they explained all the details of the rental agreement and the operation of the Ford that I rented. When I returned the car a week later it was a very easy return and the check-in process went like a breeze. Some car rental companies try to blame the renter for every possible paint chip and blemish. This Avis car rental location was very easy on the car return inspection and it went very quickly. The staff were quick to determine if I was eligible for any special discounts when I rented the car. They gave me a nice discount since I have a Costco membership. If I could give zero stars I would. We setup an ultimate test drive over the phone and were told that they closed at 6pm. We drove an hour and a half to get there only to walk up onto the porch to the sound of the door locking and hours that read 8-5. They literally saw us walking to the door and locked it on us. We knocked on the door and there were three employees sitting there and none of them would acknowledge us. We stood there for 15 min and not one of them would open the door to ask us what we needed. Rented a car here while my personal car was in the shop for a couple weeks. When I got into the car, the gas light was on...the guy assured me they marked this in the system so I wouldn't have to fill up the tank when I brought it back, but of course when I did this they snuck in a $20 "fuel service" charge into my bill that I didn't catch until later. What a scam... When my personal car was ready to get picked up, they wouldn't let me drop off the rental car at the repair shop (repair shop confirmed enterprise would come pick up the rental car from the repair shop), that in itself is not a deal breaker but they also wouldn't shuttle me to the repair shop after dropping the rental car back off because it was "too far". The repair shop was about 6 miles straight down hwy 99. Called a couple times with questions but each time the guy was short and didn't have time to answer questions because "there were customers in the store". Only upside is that they're reasonably priced. Will use a different Avis location or different rental agency next time. read more

This is how a rental car shop should run! I had a very bad experience with the Hertz in Everett and therefore booked a reservation with these fine folks. When I arrived, they were perfect. In and out very quickly with no hassle while being treated very nicely. Their cars are in great condition and all seemed clean and close to new, (unlike the competitor Hertz site in Everett). With two shuttle vans in service Avis is a quick ride from Paine Field (about 5 minutes). Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Note that this is not a review for this particular location but instead for Avis in general. I made a reservation and prepaid and not 10 minutes later found that I had a better discount code through my company. Ten minutes people, that is how long I had the reservation for. So instead of being able to modify my reservation and use the new discount code, they are charging me FIFTY DOLLARS to cancel and rebook with the new code, this making it barely worth my time to rebook. All of this for having a reservation for literally ten minutes. This is an unacceptable way to treat customers. read more

Sabrina was courteous and prompt in picking me up from Paine Field. The airport although nice, has no place to spend the night once stranded. The hotels in the area are not offering early morning shuttles, so renting a car is the way to go until these issues are addressed with new commercial routes being added by Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. This is one of the worst Avis facilities you can rent from. This must be a franchise and it's very poorly run and should be shut down. The morning I rented from here, all 3 employees showed up 10-15 minutes late! Additionally, all three were very unprofessional and had zero customer service skills, and offered no greeting or acknowledgement for opening late. The entire experience felt like the customers were the problem for all of them.
