Fast, friendly and the cars are always clean and reliable. I never have to wait long for my car

I initially rented from the Father, the franchise owner. However, when renewing a needed rental due to my car still being "in the shop". The daughter quietly more than doubled the rate for the rental. Totaling over a thousand dollars a for what should have been a couple of hundred. She heard an accent and thought that she could stick it to a tourist. I have lived and rented through all of the companies who have come and gone in the HD for some 35 years now. Never have I ever experienced such outright scamming and deceptive practices. I would highly recommend that everyone avoid renting from this location and consider Enterprise or any other available rental company. You will be gouged and when you draw attention to the scandalous act such as this. Get only response was "you should have caught it",; no accountability or remorse for her egregious actions. If needing a rental, Avoid Avis, If you're an out of town renter, get ready to assume the position should you foolishly choose to rent from this location. Not even airport rental companies would run a scam as bad as this. Best to simply avoid the entire negative experience and go elsewhere Avoid like the plague You'll be glad you did. Rented a van. It was inexpensive. And it was a super easy process! The only reason why they are getting 2 stars is because they do NOT answer the phones. The calls get forwarded to corporate and corporate will answer and state that we have to contact them directly. To only do this over and over again over 3 days. I have just rented a car from the victorville location. I barely started driving 10 mins and the car engine broke down in the middle of the freeway. I have been over 40 minutes with them on the phone and we are still on the freeway risking our lives every second. Stay away from this terrible agency that dont even check their cars before giving them to you and putting your lives at risk!! read more

We have been a Customer of this Avis store for many years. After making a reservation, I canceled it today and went with another local rental agency and will never go back to Avis again. Their customer service is lacking desperately in this area. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told I was talking to her! Seriously? The manager treats her customers so horribly? I suppose they really don't need my business because I don't like to be treated with disrespect from anybody. Especially people I am paying for a service. The booking process was easy. Once I arrived they had a car ready. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The car was great. The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. I will definitely rent from Avis again. Ps I forgot my house key on the car key ring and when I called about it they told me to hold to see if it was there and sure enough it was. I have rented from this property multiple times and have gotten to know all of the employees as well as the owners of the property and by far they have best customer service with regards to renting vehicles I have ever received. They are warm friendly greet you upon arrival and if they are busy they make sure to let you know that they have acknowledged you and will be right with you. They go above and beyond to make sure that you're satisfied with your rental as well as knowing all the features such as the location of trunk and gas tank buttons, how much gas is in the vehicle, any special features that are particular to the vehicle you will be put in and a complete walk around to make sure the outside of the vehicle is safe as well as notating any issues that might be on the vehicle (pitting, dents, scratches, scrapes, etc.) not due to you the renter. Have had a couple of previous issues with smells in the vehicle such as a transference of body odor or possibly someone who smokes not in the vehicle but through their body odor transferring the smell into the car. Brought it to their attention and they were on it and it was fixed in no time. The employees go above and beyond to make sure you are completely satisfied and do everything possible to make sure your rental is top notch. Only drawback, no pick up from where are you are or drop off back to home, etc., from the rental agency. Other than that everything else is great! Prices are competitive if not better than area prices. It's no wonder they are always on low inventory or sold out completely. Get the app. It makes a world of difference in making your reservation not just by making sure there's a car available to you but also discounts for paying through the app versus walking in to the rental agency. The most amazing customer service we have received at a car rental location. We travel often and will now always be using Avis thanks to this location, especially thanks to Jackie F at this location. As soon as you walk in they welcome you and they have incredible relationships with their customers coming in. We went to hertz and enterprise and were rejected from both as we did not live in the local area and did not have a major credit card. Jackie surpassed our customer service expectations! read more

This is the WORST Avis location. Poor customer service. Called for over two hours before someone in the location actually answered the phone. They are rude. No pick up or drop off service available and when booked on a one way there is no way to know that unless you call ahead or show up. the Rude girl on the phone kept saying it is on the website but on their FAQ's on their location on the website NEVER does is state any of the information she kept referring to. I have to say the rude girl because she never identified herself and would not provide name. They really need to have their franchise revoked. They are a poor representation of the Avis company. read more

Please do not rent from this place, they are horrible people who do not care about the customer. The owners have no respect, they are rude and cheaters. We reserved a Full size vehicle through Booking.com, when we picked up the vehicle they gave us a med size saying "Don't complain a car is a car, if you want the Full size pay me more for it" I tried to explain what we had paid for in our reservation but the Lady owner screamed at her husband telling him to cancel our reservation because we were complaining to much. She said we could leave it or take it and she didn't care about what we paid for. I will be reporting them to the city for scamming people for more money and false advertising. Worse car rental place ever. First they tried to say we had a pet in the car we rented. We disputed that because we had no pet in the car, after we were given a refund now they are trying to charge my mom $90. for gas. These ppl are crooked and take advantage if sr citizens. They checked everything after we turned it in and everything was Ok. Lady at MC even said Avis is known for this and ripping ppl off. Looks like we're going to take them to small claims for fraud. I had a major failed attempt at another car rental place so I drove to AVIS to see if they had anything available.....and they were SO AWESOME!!!!! They got me into a car in less than 10 minutes so I could be on my way. All of the representatives that were at the counter were so nice and very helpful. I used to Have TRUST in AVIS But after finding out They took Over $800.00 out of our Bank Account for there Employee Error they Billed us for keeping a car over the date return which is FALSE got into a Car accident didnt even get to have the but for only 1 night And calling Avis Emergency number which rang for over an Hour but we refuse to hang up cause we didnt want to wait another HR. on the phone waiting for someone to answer I honestly feel AVIS Employees need to be trained ....AAA came out to tow and tells us the destination is closed there is no way they can take it there Avis should have told us that !!! all in all Avis was very stressful to deal with So if you decide to rent a car From Avis I would be sure they wont STEAL YOU MONEY! very upset & Disappointed Consumer :-( read more

Worst service ever. I was the second person in line 15 mins before they opened! When they opened late, I was told I had to wait for them to get the reservations out of the way first. Not appointments, reservations!!!! Remember people, reservations are for the car that you want to rent not the exact time. I understand that you get to also have a time slot but reservations are for the car. Just FYI. I have rented cars around the country since I am a retired Military, and never have a had to wait for any people that had reservations. I understand appointments. They wanted me to wait behind 5 people! Wow!! If they showed up late, and you open late, how is it that I have to wait. 5 to 10 minutes person turns into 25 to 50 mins just to get the most basic car for a rental! My problem is the way that they handled the situation. You have 4 staff members in 3 taking care of people and no one said that to the first customer! You pushed me aside. Why? No worries, I will just let people know to be careful and not to take this from any company! I will make sure I tell my friends and pass the word to my fellow Veterans at my VFW, American Legion, and DAV meetings! Thank you and have a great day. read more

I just want to say I have rented from avis from the past 8 years they are the best by far in my opinion. Nice clean cars,in and out pick up and drop off. Friendly agents. Great price! The only thing I would like the avis in Victorville Ca to get better at is to have a better variety of roomy family vehicles. There is a competitor(that starts with the letter E) that offers a variety of family vehicles. They are a little more expensive. But I figure if I have to drive 45 minutes to the next city to pick up the vehicle I need from avis I feel going to a competitor might be worth it. read more

I will NEVER go back there again. This is a long review, but you need to read it BEFORE renting from this place! I had to rent a car to go down the hill to a funeral and booked it a WEEK in advance because my car was having trouble & I didn't think it would make it all the way to Corona. I had a coupon that would upgrade a standard car to a premium one though - so I was happy. When I got there, there were two women at the counter. One was with a customer and the other just shuffled some paperwork and went off into a side office ... seemingly to avoid having to do my check out - but whatever - people don't put the customers first anymore... so I waited well past my check in time wondering if I would make it to the funeral. By the way, this place is incredibly run-down.. just YUCKY - the office is YUCKY and worn out and tired - the grounds are YUCKY I admit that I was suckered into buying insurance after saying "NO" the first time ... but it is what it is. They charged me $55.87 for one day. After paying, it went DOWN HILL FAST. We walked around the car to note any previous damages. First there were dings on the trunk area - okay, no biggie. Then, when we got to the front of the car, there was a crazy BASKETBALL sized dent there! It had red paint in it and it was HUGE!!! She's says, "I didn't know that was there, I will just write that down" - I am thinking to myself, OMG - this is what they had for me as a premium car waiting for me early in the a.m. ?! WHATEVER ..... I had to go to a funeral and they were not about to wait for me to start services.... so it was what it was. Next, she opens the car and has me sit it & it SMELLED LIKE DIRTY SOCKS that had been worn for MONTHS! I mean it was powerful and nasty and I said, "it really stinks in here" - she said something like one never knows what they people do in the car...I am like, NOT SHOWER FOR ONE! Good grief! I had no choice & not time... so... It gets worse... I return the car the next morning first thing......... By the way, still smelling HORRIBLE (even the AC didn't help). The other woman (who was too busy to scam me the first day) told me to wait as she looked at the car. I watched her walk around it and come to that HUGE DENT.... called over some male employee washing cars and point to it. She comes back in and says, "did you jump a curb or something?" I am like, "NO, I didn't so much as push a daisy with that car" I said, "that dent was there yesterday when I picked it up and noted on my pink receipt" She's like, "our guy said it wasn't that bad" ..... OMG, I am calling BS on this entire outfit! She says, "It's okay, because you took out insurance so it would cover it anyway" I am like, "I DON'T CARE THAT I TOOK OUT INSURANCE, THIS IS NOT MY DENT - ASK THE OTHER LADY" ... she did and took the other lady outside to see the car and talk about it. I followed them out and said, "that guy is CRAZY" ... she's like, "there is no need to call names" ... I was livid. Not only did this cheap arse ghetto establishment give me a car that was in a wreak and smelled like 100-pounds of dirty socks and undies were piled in there, but they were blaming me??? Really? She's like, "we usually don't rent cars in this condition, but we were short on vehicles yesterday" ...... OH, you were short? Oh, then it's okay BUT was a week's advance notice not good enough for you? I called into the manager to MAKE SURE they were not using that purchased insurance to pay for this car from the damages left by the previous renter... WHICH I BET THEY DID -- got it paid for AT MY EXPENSE - which would be INSURANCE FRAUD if they did.... And all this man could tell me is that they retired that car after my rental and that they are not renting that one anymore.... IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER, EH? YOU RENTED THAT STINKING PIECE OF CRAP TO ME AT A PREMIUM RATE, BUT I CAN REST ASSURED NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT EVER AGAIN? Oh, thank you sir!!!! You're the best! He also told me to ask for him next time I came in so he could give me a ..................... WHAT???? You think I would ever use this crap hole again??? Is he serious? So bottom line: No discount or refund, a car that had been in a wreck in the front, dinged in the back & smelled so bad that I was MISERABLE driving to Corona and back (3 1/2 hours of hell), they tried to blame ME for that shyt and may have committed insurance fraud to pay for the damages. This is what you get when renting a car from this rinky-dink unprofessional, RUDE customer service, scam of a car rental place. Great experience. After two fails with Enterprise, I decided to go for a better company. Best decision, EVER.

Getting the rental car was great .... I returned my car at 0400 at Dulas Airport in DC. The place was closed & put my keys in the drop basket. I returned to Ontario Airport in Ca at 1600 & I needed to get to home. I was told I couldn't get my rental because I had an open rental at Dulas. I advised The clerk at the desk in Ontario the situation of what I did. He denied my rental due to company policy was I had another open rental. I told him I'm on military orders & trying to get home. He tried to call Dulas & unable to get through due to they were closed. He was able to get his manager to over ride it & gave me the rental. He told Me i had to call to fix it. Well.. I've called numerous times & each time I get different customer service people & they cannot help me. I have to call directly to the airport Avis, in which each time it transfers to customer service. I have to wait 3-7 days for it to clear or if they tent the car to someone. In the mean time, I have a deadline to complete my travel for the military & it appears I'm screwed !!!! read more

RUN! Don't Walk, Leap, Jump or Hike...RUNNNN from this Location! We will never (and I mean Never rent again from this location-from this so called franchised husband and wife team-What a joke) Where to begin? When walking into this establishment, if the male heavy set owner is present and he visually sees you walk in, he will look up and look back down...without even acknowledging the entering paying clients. Yes, that's right, not even one single acknowledgment...you know perhaps a Hello, How you're Doing? Welcome to Avis...etc. They have a very high employee turn over rate (which is obvious), and the female employees are just as unprofessional. Yet, they clearly also have no good management role models or guidance to look up to. If there is a problem that arises with your rental expect them to treat the client/s in accusatory manner and expect the male owner to not come out and properly address the situation (even though he is present and on site), but instead, sit in the back office and listen to what is unfolding in the front. Years ago, my family gave A LoTTT of business to this franchise location..renting on several occasions...especially during the summer (and still possess ALL receipts to prove it). The vehicles were always returned in good standing condition (as received), no reported accidents, no payment issues etc. However, there was one emergency occasion where we called to extend the vehicle for only one day (due to the emergency situation and not being in the area at the time to come in personally), and even though we were long time Good Standing Wizard Members, Never had any issues before, the female owner jackie totally looked beyond our loyal client status and wanted to charge an additional fee if we couldn't bring it back physically before closing to extend. Long story short, my family made it very clear that this was a huge disappointment for her wanting to charge a fee..especially considering the circumstance. Yet, this only showed us how desperate they were/are for money. Anyhow, from there, we proudly took our business else where (with no regrets. That being said, recently, after several years later, we decided to give this location another try at our business (big mistake), as they have gotten WORSE. After providing this location another attempt to treat us better as clients, we rented a vehicle, yet there were some issues reported to the staff and they immediately became very loud, defensive, aggressive and accusatory, and again, as I mentioned prior, the male owner did nothing but sat in the back (and of course was listening ). He hides when there is a challenge being presented by renters and doesn't come out at all to even attempt to rectify the situation...but only gossips to his employees in the back about the renters (very child like). This is not how a 'Real Boss' handles client issues. Moving forward, again, rent at your own risk, but you have been warned, my family and I would strongly recommend you don't rent from this location or their location in Barstow. But this doesn't at all mean you will get this same treatment at other Avis Locations domestically and or internationally, because we have found other Avis locations around the world (especially the airports) to be very friendly and truly goes above and beyond to not only members, but first time clients as well. Don't be afraid to report this location to the national headquarters, as they go above and beyond to rectify the situation any way they can. Lastly, Always remember, we as consumers are the ones that truly have the power, not the business, and if a business doesn't appreciate your cash flow, take your funds else where and report them (don't let them intimidate). Maybe when they start seeing a loss in their bottom line, 'Maybe' they'll get the hint. read more
