So here's an update... SMH! Absolutely Unbelievable!!! So we were charged $381.00 then today they charged another $26.74!!! When the entire bill was supposed to be for $305.77. Someone apparently needs to go back to school and redo their arithmetic!!! Mercy!!! So yeah looks like we are going to have to deal with this in person @ 8am first thing tomorrow morning. My husband had a medical emergency whilel Ubering With an Apple Valley Hertz car. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital and wasn't released till four days later I went to their office Monday morning and inquired about getting the car that was impounded because of his health issue and getting our things back here. we are four days later and they still have not picked up the impounded car And retrieve my things. Meanwhile, here I sit and I'm gonna be charged for every day of impound fees which are quite expensive and rental fees. I love hertz! I rarely have an issue and when I do, it's taken care of immediately. My cars are always ready to go when I arrive, Meaning I do not wait long at all. I've rented a wide range of cars from Hertz and my car my favorite is the Tesla's. The staff are very knowledgeable and do everything they can to help you out. I thought this was going to be a great rent a car business because I used it through AAA however AAA charged me 300 and something dollars when my husband went to get the car and picked it up. It was $999. Absolutely ridiculous. They charge us insurance when we had our own insurance. They gave us a leftover car that had dents in it And 60,000 miles over the worst Hertz I've ever had Rent-A-Car never use this company again and I tried to talk with them and reconsider their contract on the Rent-A-Car. I reserved a car, get there to pick it up and it's absolutely filthy, SO MUCH DOG HAIR, I asked for another vehicle, she told me I'll be charged to upgrade. I reserved a Small SUV not even a cheap economy car. I have 5 Star Status, I should be upgraded for free when available anyways. Maddie had the WORST ATTITUDE and DEMEANOR EVER. Literally, Hertz, get rid of her. She is a risk to your company because she does not care about her job or customers. She clearly hates her job and is not down to provide good customer service. Her misery was eluding in how she treated me, other customers, and her poor coworker. I was renting a car for pleasure so I didn't have to try my brand new Lexus out of state. We rent here every 3 months, it's close too our home, the people are just awesome and helpful, most of the cars are new to me, and I'm not into technology much, but they walk me thru how to start the cars, and anything else I have a question with, the cars are mostly clean, and if they don't have what I reserved, they give me a free upgrade which is way cool, I used to go to Avis and Enterprise until I found out how close this Hertz location was too us...I will continue to rent here every 3 months, and I didn't notice anyone rude as the other reviews said. I'm not giving this place any stars, I just have to give it one to post this review. Christine, the manager at this location, is massively rude and unhelpful, as well as unprofessional. She canceled my reservation without my okay to do so. She stressed my mom out right before Christmas. I will NEVER be doing business with this company again. There are also stories about how they screw their customers over by claiming erroneous unpaid fees and repossessing cars at the renters expense. Oh and Hey Hertz, it's discriminatory to require people to have a major credit card to rent your vehicles. Yeah I said it. I rented a car here a few times and had good cars and service. I needed to return my car today and they close at 6 PM. Traffic was terrible closed and I likely was not going to make it on time. One more thing, they have no key drop so there is no way to do a Night drop. I was distraught. I caught a few green lights and called Apple Valley HERtZ and said I would be cutting it close. I arrived at 6:01 and the door was locked. Argh! But then they unlocked it and checked the car in super fast. Thanks Apple Valley Hertz for making a long time HERTZ customer very happy. read more

Did an online reservation on the way to the location... My car was ready as soon as we finished paperwork!! Customer service was friendly and quick. Only downfall was I rented the vehicle for two days (monday to Wednesday)didn't need it the two days after all) so I returned it a day early (Tuesday around 2:30 pm) the ladies told me it would be ok to turn it early I wouldn't be charged the extra day!!! When I returned the car, I got charged till Wednesday regardless because it was after 11:00 am. Would of been nice to know that before than, I would of turned it on Wednesday as scheduled!!! read more

I'm never renting from Hertz again. Apple Valley location. What's the point of reserving a car days in advance, and then when you go to pick it up, they don't have that car (or anything similar). They tried to bump me up to a bigger car (at $100 more!) No discount offered. Nothing. Had to wait an hour for a Lyft driver to pick me up and drive me to ANOTHER Hertz location where they had a car, but it was still $30 more than what I had originally reserved it for. I returned a truck and they didn't tell me where to get the right gas for it, so it was difficult finding a gas station where they had the right kind. No communication prior to the information on the trucks gas requirements. They charged me for a full day for a car I didn't even get to drive home. I asked if they could call victorville for a car and all they said was they could give me the number. No help from them at all. Once realized, we called Hertz and asked if they could wait 5-10min for us to get back to their shop to grab his wallet before they closed. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and refused to go along with our request. "We close at 6pm and once the door is locked, we don't open it again until 8am tomorrow." (My Boyfriend leaves for work at 4:30am) My Boyfriend had to drive to work this morning without his wallet and I had to jump through hoops to get there this morning to get it all because someone simply refused to be kind. Called Enterprise yesterday am. They said to come by between 1 and 2 pm for rental car. We asked for a mid size pu and they said they had to have it moved to Hesperia so it won't be there until the afternoon. At 3pm they don't have a pu. Not only that, they don't have ANY vehicles that we could rent. Needed a vehicle to replace a car being repaired for an accident. Rental vehicle needed for 6am commute. Beware they have a catch 22. If you pre pay with a DEBIT CARD they will Charge you the the rental fee. But once you come to pick up the rental car you can't rent a vehicle unless you have a credit card to pay with, So then if you don't have or use CREDIT CARDS you will have to cancel and to cancel they charge a $50 to $100 dollar fee. They should not be able to charge your debit card in the first place if they only rent their vehicles out with CREDIT CARDS. What a RIP OFF... Oh and if you try to call corporate they charge a fee just to talk to someone about your reservation. read more

Rob was AWESOME! We came in and let him know about our trip, what we did and didn't want, and he accommodated! In fact he went over and beyond and put us in a really nice and brand new vehicle. Price was comparable to any other place. This is our second time renting here and are pleased with our experience. We'll definitely be back here for our next rental. I accidentally walked in at 8am thinking my reservation ended at 8am and she tells me they don't open till 9( I totally forgot it was Saturday) but she says it with a tone but says she'll help me if I waited. Hertz Apple Valley almost killed my family due to their own Safety Negligence! (I am *not* exaggerating). We reserved a minivan over 4 weeks in advance, called one week ahead to confirm that reservation, and then when we showed up to pick up our minivan, we were given a small SUV instead that was DIRTY, full of animal hair, trash, and with mysterious white powder blowing out of the A/C air vents. We spent our own money & time to wash & clean it. Since we didn't receive a minivan, we had to CHANGE everything we had packed (due to less space). Then we went on our 5000 mile journey.....ASSUMING we had been given a safe vehicle. BOY, were we WRONG! On the way back, in the middle of Missouri (3000 miles into our journey), I thought I'd check our tires to make sure they were still safely inflated, and instead I discovered that the tires were CRACKING, worn BELOW the Wear-Bar, and Rubber was PEELING off. In other words, both front tires were about to blow.....which would very likely be a deadly (or at the least, a VERY extremely dangerous) situation. I spoke with 3 car experts (a nearby FORD dealership manager, the tow truck driver who took us to the nearest Hertz....1 hour away, and the local Missouri Hertz staff that switched us into a safer car (for free). ALL 3 experts confirmed that these tires were EXTREMELY dangerous to drive on, and the Missouri Hertz staff said they would have NEVER rented that car to us, since its tires were SO dangerous. They also confirmed that there's no way those tires just all of a sudden got that way during our journey....i.e., they were like that BEFORE we left home. Happily, we were given a new replacement vehicle to finish our journey (after losing a day of travel and VERY precious time with a loved one who passed away only 8 days after we visited her), AND the Apple Valley Hertz DID reimburse us a *little* bit for all our troubles (i didn't want to ruin our vacation by yelling at them in front of our family)....HOWEVER, my family very easily COULD HAVE DIED (which very well could have happened, given that we still had 2000 miles to go through very hot states (Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona & California) to get back home through 100+ degree temperatures). I Thank God that the danger was discovered before it was too late, but I STRONGLY suggest you reconsider using Apple Valley Hertz before risking your own loved ones' lives renting vehicles that are obviously NOT pre-examined for safety (since checking tires is a FAST & EASY procedure for a company that's supposed to care about customer safety), not to mention it wasn't even CLEANED (it was FILTHY!). YES, I could have checked the tire safety myself, but when I pay **$1000** to rent a car for 2 weeks to go 5189.2 miles, I expect that the company taking my money would at least make sure their customers will be safe. This was NOT the case. So, if you ever plan a family getaway, then GET-AWAY from Apple Valley Hertz. (P.S.--my wife and I BOTH thought their local office staff employee (she wasn't the manager) was VERY rude when we picked up & dropped off the vehicle). read more

Just picked up a car. It hadn't been washed as there was mud all along the bottom, and there was noticeable dirt on the carpet. We were in a bit of a hurry, and my husband didn't feel like making a big deal out it, so we just took it as is. There is also a chip in the windshield, which I understand might not be the easiest thing to have fixed. But altogether it feels like I'm borrowing a friend's car, not paying for a car. It is also a Nissan Versa... we reserved something in the mid-size class, and when I asked if that was a midsize (Google says it is in the "subcompact" class) the girl at the counter informed me that this was an upgrade from what we reserved, at no charge. Implying, be happy and shut up. Soooo, not a fan. PROS: They handled us quickly. We were able to easily book on Priceline. It is next to Starbucks. read more

They will charge your DEBIT card without rendering any services, claiming and stating that on their website it states no DEBIT cards but I booked it and there was no such thing.
