I'm surprised with the lack of good reviews on here. I thought it was a really really nice stay. Wonderful view of the beach from our balcony and the pools were excellent! Sure they could feel a little crowded but it's a good vibe with nice people. I'd stay here again.

This property was nothing short of astonishing! This is what you call a top-tier beachfront resort at a very affordable price. The location is in North Myrtle Beach and there's a plentiful amount of parking. I love the way. The parking garage is directly across from the facility and very easy to access. There are many food options available and being able to literally walk from your hotel room to the beach is just an incredible experience. The check-in process was seamless and everything is really organized at this hotel. When you first come in, they give you a time window to go in and register and leave your vehicle. After the allotted time you are asked to move your vehicle to allow other guests to do the same thing, this again allows for structure at the facility. It is a really great business practice and I took note of it. The Jacuzzi's and pools were very clean and well-maintained. Also, the staff gets up very early in the morning to put beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach for an enjoyable customer experience. The rooms were clean and filled with plenty of linen daily. All of the appliances work very well and there's even an area where you can rent DVDs. This is great for a good family vacation or a quick getaway, or a romantic time with your special someone. Thelena and Perdeisha at the front desk were amazing! Carmen was a great housekeeper! Ms. Lee Evans in the restaurant Just Off Main had the best personality and warm demeanor, I felt like I was dining with my grandmother! She was phenomenal and recommended great food selections from the menu. The food was incredible. Last but certainly not least. I'd like to acknowledge Alexis Jones. Alexis is the assistant manager and let me just say I had a concern and she addressed immediately! I would 100% stay at this facility again.

We had a wonderful stay here to celebrate my son's 16th birthday! Very thankful for the military discount and how easy it was to book over the phone. Review their refund/cancellation policy in case you possibly may need to change plans. Our room was clean, the AC was able to keep up with the heat, staff were always maintaining the pool area. Plenty of seating around the pool. We never had an issue. Close to all the places we hoped to visit. Parking garage is across the street. We brought a wagon to help with unloading/loading. They do have a lot for "over sized" vehicles that is not covered and locked with a chain. We were very pleased and would return. We booked directly through the resort to be able to access the military discount.

My boyfriend and I booked this place for a one night stay. It was 100% better than the other hotel we were staying at before changing. We were on the 7th floor and the view was beautiful!!!! The pools were nice and the hot tubs were really hot. I enjoyed my time there and if I ever come back I will be staying at this hotel again!

    Our daily walk..just beautiful!

The condo was beautiful and resort amenities expansive. It's great they have a covered parking structure which not all have. The condo was super clean with lots of towels, supplies, a full kitchen and laundry. We stayed in a 3B/3B ocean front condo for two weeks snd enjoyed the gym, pools, and quick access to the beach. There is one big oceanfront and one smaller balcony. We enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the waves every morning with coffee and evening with snacks and beverages. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Restaurants snd bars were in walking distance as well as a couple shops, ice cream parlors, and cafes. We recommend and will definitely come back.

They've got what ever you want for this holiday. Wonderful meal buffet style and great service. Soothing music to dine by. A great way to spend a quiet Thanksgiving meal..and no cleanup to do! There was alot of food to tempt the taste buds my selections were great. I had mixed salad, rolls, sweet potato casserole w marshmallows, ham, turkey breast au jus, roast beef carving station on plate 1 on plate 2 my second helpings were more sweet potatoes and beef. So good. Then the desserts. .all chocolate cakes, tortes and more. If you are in The Myrtle Beach area for Thxgiving holiday consider buying tickets to their early dinner. Its a very pleasant experience taking place at the Avista hotel and resort.

A VERY DISAPPOINTING ENCOUNTER We did our home work first by calling and explaining our plans to launch , park ,and camp on the state park islands. No problem at first. The staff was helpful. The next day, however, the OWNER OR MANAGER (Greg) was a totally different story. We were told at check in that we could use the facilities after spending over $400 for boat permit, launching , parking fees for 5 days. NO PROBLEM on the cost , we realize things are expensive. But when we came back to either use the facilities or drop people off to pick up their vehicles we were met with a totally different welcome . The OWNER/MANAGER Greg threatened us with verbal abuse. Using words " You Campers abusing this marina". Threatening to have our vehicles towed and or saying good luck getting our vehicles out for they will be blocked in. Stating you're going to be banned from Lake George and he was going to call the police- all over taking a shower. Just what you what hear when you going on vacation and paid for their services . ( we even tried to de-esculate the situation by apologizing. There must have been a miscommunication) But he would hear none of it ! And To make matters worse the OWNER/ MANAGER called one of us out with a verbal conversation AND stated he wanted a physical confrontation. At a time when tourism is down, and all of us live locally, its embarrassing that the is how people are being treated. Unreal.

Picture of how we had to use towels the whole time. Soaked them pretty quick.

Check in was a breeze. Staff was super friendly. This hotel is located in a great spot...within walking distance to lots of eateries and direct access to the beach. All of the rooms have ocean views. Initially I thought the bed position was weird but I quickly appreciated waking up to views of the beach and ocean. Everything was clean and well appointed in our king room. My only complaint is that the towels were pretty bad and extremely thin, more so than any other hotel I've visited. We went to the bar on the second floor to people watch. It's a cute spot and has access to outdoor seating with a view and fire pits. Our drinks were just "ok"...I've never had ice in a French 75 and my husband's old fashioned was made with crushed ice and not a ball or large cube which was odd. There is ample parking in the deck across the street. Overall, a nice stay!

Resort amenities are abundant and include direct beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, (small) lazy rivers, a fitness center, an arcade, and a fire pit. We made a relatively late reservation here for five nights when we learned that international guests would be visiting. There would be seven guests (all adults) for two nights, and only four of us for the other three nights. We used extra timeshare points (making it more expensive) in order to get a unit on an upper floor, hoping that the upper floor would give us the best ocean view. Unit. (3/5). Our unit in Tower 2 was spacious (especially when there were only 4 of us), and had everything that we needed and was clean. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked full kitchen with generous pantry space, having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the jacuzzi in the main bedroom (which we under-utilized!). The beds were comfortable, and had high quality linens. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the unit as our ocean view was limited (although you could see the ocean, beach, and one of the pools from our balcony). And, as the resort was built in 2002, and last renovated in 2011, it's now beginning to show its age -- with sofas and chairs that were no longer firm, some chips on furniture, and the musty smell that comes with high humidity. Amenities and Activities. (3.5/4). Tower 2 was convenient, and had many amenities that we utilized. It was home to the Lobby and Registration, had direct beach access, a lazy river, access to indoor and outdoor pools, game room/arcade, activities center, gift shop, and fire pit. As with our room, some of the amenities need upgrades. For instance, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, and the markings on the shuffleboard had eroded off. The resort also had a full calendar of "Resort Experiences", which included arts and crafts, shows, fitness classes, and more. HOWEVER, we were three days in before we even learned that there were resort activities, as we weren't given a schedule at check-in. For instance, we would've gone to the Sunday evening "Karaoke Welcome Party" at the fire pit, but we weren't aware. We DID enjoy the "Hula Fire Show" a few nights later. A few other random points. (1) Parking could be challenging if it's important to you to have parking close to your unit. If not, there's plentiful parking (and a free shuttle, which we didn't utilize) behind Tower 4. We were able to get parking in Tower 2 most evenings, except one evening when we got back late. (2) we were surprised that the concierge did have discount tickets to the shows in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to attend. (3) we would stay here again, but probably wouldn't pay extra again for a higher floor.

The property is located on the beach but surrounded by plenty of restaurants and just a minute drive away from the shopping outlets. However, I politely declined again as I travel for work quite a bit and accrue my share of hotel points and airline miles... Anywho, I reserved a 1 bedroom deluxe through the timeshare site and I ended up in the South Tower, 14th floor, and in a nicely sized oceanview room. Loved the hardwood floors, modern decor, full kitchen w/coffee maker, blender, and dining/cookware, washer/dryer, nice comfy king bed and the roomy stand-alone shower. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice along with the easy beach access. The weather was very nice and going this time of year was great as it wasn't too crowded due summer break not starting yet, so it was very peaceful and relaxing. Yes, the hotel is dated, but we understand that it's in a hurricane zone, so we're pretty understanding of that.
