Aviva spa is located in the Design District on the 3rd floor of the building that is next to the restaurant Le Jardinier. They sent me directions right before my appointment so it was easy to find once they mentioned the restaurant. The space is clean and modern, they offered me something to drink while I was filling out the new patient form. I was taken to a private room, it was small but comfortable so I was able to relax right away. I came for a 60 min. facial with Jackeline and had a great experience. She was really nice, loved that she explained everything that she was doing and asked how I was doing during the facial. She was careful to ensure the products would not irritate my sensitive skin. At the end of my visit they shared all the services they offered along with prices and promotions. They also sent me a text with all the information. STAY AWAY! During my facial, an extraction became more aggressive than I was comfortable with. I clearly said I did not want an area squeezed, but it continued anyway with repeated pressure and visible bleeding. She chuckled and I was told not to worry about the blood, which felt dismissive. I was left with significant irritation afterward, which I have not experienced with extractions at other med spas. Client comfort and consent should always come first. I have this all on video too. It pains me to leave this review, but please stay away. Like another reviewer mentioned, their Botox simply does not last. I had my treatment on Nov 7 and paid the required $50 deposit. During checkout they forgot to apply it, and I only caught it two days later. They did refund it, but the oversight was frustrating so be cautious. My injector, Daniella, was kind. She went over my usual treatment from a different clinic (a mix of Dysport and Botox) and matched my Dysport units to Botox since they were running a promo. Two weeks later, I still had noticeable movement, but I was leaving for NYC for the holidays and couldn't return in person. They did a virtual follow-up and told me I likely needed more units. Now it's Dec 9, and I can confidently say there is no Botox effect on my face at all. I have full movement everywhere. Buyer beware: if you do go, make sure your deposit is correctly applied and be prepared that the results may not last. I recently moved from CA to Miami, and unfortunately my search for a reliable injector here will have to continue. read more

Hands down the best place for laser/hydrofacial/massage. I started coming here for laser hair removal 2 years ago, gradually getting rid of almost all of my body hair and now I only come for maintenance. Hydrofacial is my must as well as monthly massage. What I truly like is that they use the original hydrafacial machine, not a substitute and the massage therapists are not day spa masseuses, these guys know who to work your muscles. Pricing is ok too. Laser is one of the most affordable in the entire Dade area, I think. Hydrafacial is on the more expensive side everywhere but it is worth every penny. This review is for the gel bail polish service. I have never given a yelp review before but this is so bad I had to go out of my way to do it. First of all, the slowest nail technician I have ever experienced - took 3+ hours for a gel mani and regular pedi. To be fair, the pedi was good - but she was going to SLOW! Applying the nail polish as if it was her first time ever looking at someone's hands. And then the hands - it was super painful around the cuticles, and again the slowness was killing me. She messed up on my nails a couple of times and had to redo the gel and every time she sucked in her teeth as if it was such an inconvenience. And then as soon as we were finished... I got home and find that my nails have turned into this bubbly mess! (See attached photo) I've been doing my nails gel for 3 years and this has never happened. Let me start off by making it clear m: this is not a SPA, it's a mom and pop shop in the back of an office/store building. I have tried multiple services at this salon and here is a recap: - mani/pedi - home style, you soak your feet in a plastic pan, very similar to my friend's mani/pedi service in college: not professional outcome but sweet and homey. - hair color: Carla is trying really hard to be a stylist and she can be on top of the world in Hialeah. Her services are not "design district" material. My color service was the worst I have had, her attitude is horrible and she is not good at what she does. - massage: I had one decent massage but the therapist was fired by mean Christina, the operator. All in all: life is too short to spend it in eména. I vote with my wallet. The operator Christina is hissing down the hallways, unhappy and miserable, trying to survive and filling the place with negative energy. Ken is trying to be a face of salon but struggling with technology and as a brand this salon is just not coming together (hence constant Groupon and gilt promotions). I had a lovely experience at Vita Body Saturday. Full disclosure, I perform massage therapy sessions there, but, I am a big fan of trying out other services so that I know what I'm talking about when anyone asks. So that's what I did Saturday and yes, I paid for the services and tipped the service providers. I started with an Organic Facial with Maria Subacheva and ended with a hair treatment and cut with Andrea George. They each have their own unique personalities and I enjoyed spending time with each of them. For someone to work on my face, I want someone calm, with a steady, experienced hand, who knows what's in the products and tells you what they're doing. Maria was, had and did all that and was able to perform an extraction on a spot that I let go for a long time because of the pandemic that normally I would only have allowed my dermatologist Debra Jaliman, MD in NYC perform, but I'm still not traveling yet and I didn't want it to get worse, so I made an exception. She did a terrific job. For someone to work on my hair, I want someone who understands the texture and lean of it, how the weather affects it and how it should frame my face. Andrea did a great job and we had a great time talking about a wide variety of subjects from business to boys. I also enjoy learning about product ingredients since I make products and both were able to answer my questions. So, I like the service providers, but also and truly, from the top down, I also like Vitalina, the owner, Ken, the manager and the other massage therapists; everybody does. So the first thing I like is the people, but the spa is also very clean, simple, spacious feeling and beautiful and best of all, the rooms are separated. When you sit down for your hair appointment, you are separated from the rest of the spa and everyone wears masks and is temperature checked before entering. Emena offers a Miami Spa special of $129 for both a facial and a deep tissue massage. I was also tempted by the oxygen treatment facial that is $99, but I decided that I do want/need a massage. Turns out that, at the spa, they offers me to upgrade to the oxygen treatment for $40 extra, which I gladly took. The massage - I like how my masseur customized the session and really focused on working out my kinks, instead of doing a standard head to toe routine. However, I have to say I didn't like his hairy arms rubbing on my back. I have had many massages before, and plenty by male, but it's the first time I had this unpleasant experience. I don't suppose I have the right to demand someone to shave his arms, but despite my effort to put a positive spin on it "hey I am getting a free scrub!!" it really grossed me out. Also I don't care for the massage oil they use. it's supposedly apricot flavor but smells like sweet candy. I'd prefer they use something herbal or floral. At the end of the session I was so oily I had to ask for some towels to wipe myself. There is no shower facility. The facial - I am glad that I can upgrade to the oxygen treatment, and overall I enjoyed the session. I appreciate that my esthetician did not try to push skin care products on me, instead she gave me some samples to try. This place may be a great hair and nail salon but I feel that I can get similar level of massage at a lower price, or pay as much and get a massage at a fancier facility with changing room, showers or even more. Not to mention that parking is always a hassle at Design District, and if you don't valet, parking will be a few blocks away. read more
