This is the second time I've been here before (the other time about 3 years ago). I can only review the Children's Area and Toddler Storytime... and both times have been superb! I have always felt welcome along with my kiddos, and the gal in charge always has an engaging and fun set of books and songs set up. Storytime is followed by a craft of some sort, and it's pretty fun for the kids and they get to take home a fun craft! There is a good selection of books, lots of comfortable seating areas for you and your kiddos to read a few books, and lots of toys for imaginative and interactive play. If you're visiting and want an inexpensive and free activity for your young kiddos, this library location fits the criteria. Nice staff, and a great library! read more

I really enjoy when I am at the library it is really calm and i love using the typewrite.

Love coming to this library, especially when I have computer work to do...the view from the window is lovely. However, the staff is always sooo loud. Really difficult to concentrate. It doesn't seem to be any particular staff either...just a loud group in general. read more

This place is beautiful! A wonderful resource! And so LOUD one can barely think. We have visited several times and usually make a donation to support local libraries, but am thinking maybe not this time. It is virtually unusable for reading or using the computer, even with earplugs in! Most of the staff are very courteous (with one exception), but even they are LOUD. I guess the days of 'Shhhh' are gone. :{{ UPDATE: A solution was found but I am leaving my rating as is. Turns out they have a downstairs that is 'quieter' but even downstairs the staff remain loud. And when I asked if there might be a quieter area in the library, all the staff member did was point to a back corner and repeated 3x, "Downstairs, downstairs." She paused and looked at me and repeated again, "Downstairs." Maybe the noise is getting to her too. read more

This library is a Gem. More than big enough for a town of 8000 residents at any rate. Open, airy, lots of lodgepoles in the ceiling and quite welcoming overall with a ton of cushy leather seating. DVD and BluRay loans are free, unlike many library systems. The separate kids' section is huge and stuffed to the gills with enough media for any grommet to find her niche. Checkouts from other Eagle Valley Library District branches are a snap. This place is a great example of Government actually functioning on behalf of The People. read more

No one reviews libraries but this is the most amazing library ever! The magazine selection is insane and looks like a Borders! Huge, comfy chairs and a fireplace! Complex looks new and doesn't smell like musty old books. read more

As a frequent traveler, I visit a lot of libraries in different areas and the Avon library stands our for several reasons - good and bad. First, the good - which is actually good enough that I would have gladly submitted a five-star review were it not for the bad. This library is large, spacious, equipped with comfortable seating and, most importantly to me, has numerous electrical outlets for laptops as well as respectably fast wifi. The public wifi is the main reason I visit libraries as I travel because I need to be online for work. The wifi at Avon Public Library ranks with the top few libraries I have been at anywhere. Now, the bad with this library. Parking is virtually non-existent - which would be okay except for the lack of signage to indicate where one might park. There is actually plenty of public, on-street parking in this area, but it tends to be full throughout the day. Of course, this is after one finds the library. It doesn't look like a traditional library building (which is fine), it is partly surrounded by trees, and Google Maps has the location of the library on the opposite block so finding it is a challenge. I knew we were in the right area thanks to some city signs that pointed toward the library, but it still took walking around an entire block to locate the correct building. Finally, the worst problem with this library is the NOISE. This is hands down the noisiest library I have visited. I rather fondly remember the days when talking above a whisper would result in a "shushing" reprimand from a librarian - fondly because one could study or work in peace and quiet. This library is just incredibly loud with conversations, etc at all hours. People were having conversations so loud that I could still hear them through noise cancelling headphones. All in all, this is a good library and I would recommend it despite my complaints. The building is nice, the furniture comfortable, the wifi and electrical outlets more than adequate. I just wish it was a bit quieter and easier to find. read more

Well it's a public place and a very nice one at that. Very high building for a libary, kind of goes where the building is located at the base of Beaver Creek ski area. The seating in the bottom floor is about the most comfortable seating I have ever witnessed. I think when I sit down to work on computer I could fall asleep in no time. The wireless is very strong and fast and combined with the quite atomassphere it's a great place to get work done. Parking out side is somewhat limited up close to the building but a big lot is just down the street if you can't find a place to park. The only thing I think this place could improve on is the hours the stay open. It would be nice to see some later hours in the winter and summer. read more

Hello Everyone! I was never big on going to the library, but I just Love Avon's! People is super nice and kind, and the material selection is just amazing! Yes like some people has review, the library can be a bit loud at times, but is not awful! Its like any other place, sometimes is super quiet, and sometimes can be loud.... I usually go to study there and is my favorite! The big windows let the light in, and the sitting area is super nice. The downstairs floor tends to be a lot more silence!!! And by it i mean, real silence.... Ps, if you do go in on a loud day, you can always solve the problem with a pair of headphones :) Cheers! read more

Since we were traveling with our toddler who is too young to go skiing, we were sure to take advantage of the free storytimes open to the public at the library. The librarians are super nice and helpful. We were able to get a membership to check out some books and bring back to the room with us. The kids book area is separate from the rest of the library which is nice, and the kids area has puzzles as well as many many hundreds of books. read more

If you intend to use this library for a quiet place to work or study, then don't bother. This library is louder than studying at Starbucks at times. The staff frequently hold loud conversations and do not enforce individuals in seating areas to be quiet. On frequent occasions people have been watching movies or listening to music on their iphones/laptops with no headphones! Even with headphones in, I could hear the librarians and the individuals around me. It's a large open space, so sound travels. Even relocating to various areas of the library did not help. Wish they were open later in the evenings on weekends and the staff would enforce a quiet library environment like other libraries I've gone to. read more

Spacious, clean library with decent WiFi and a good selection of reading material. My only gripe is the employees, who talked LOUDLY the 4 hours I was there (this occurred on both floors). I've never been in such a loud library. If you go and want to actually read or study, I highly recommend bringing a pair of ear plugs. Otherwise, it's a comfortable place read more
