Very nice as public recreation facilities go. Centrally located in the valley. It's a worthwhile visit, if you need to hit the stair master.

Adequate, not quite amazing. The facility was built "way back" in 1995 and needs a bit of a refresh. Little water pressure in showers, a few machines are out of order and many missing or mismatched ceiling tiles. Nice locker facilities but might benefit from combination locks instead of none or bring your own. read more

The staff members are amazingly friendly and helpful. The pool side of the gym was closed for week to do some construction. Yesterday, opening day, I went to the jacuzzi. It was disappointing. The water was contaminated with snot, hairs and even phlegm. read more

Fabulous aquatic center. Awesome slide and lazy river for everyone. I was one of two adults playing after my mile swim. Clean , spacious and wow views of snowy mountains from your swim lane. read more

Fun place to relax your tired / sore muscles after a day of skiing. A large whirlpool and several warm water pools and a cooler water pool for laps. read more

Recently moved here full time. Opening hours are extremely inconvenient and make the membership not worth it for local 8-5 professionals. Treadmills are regularly out of service. Would love to see regular operating hours, opening at 6am (or even 8am versus noon). read more

Showed up for 5:30 yoga. After waiting ten minutes past class starting, no teacher. They did not have her number to call her at the front desk. Very disappointing. read more

The Avon Recreation Center is impressive. Designed to be a Family facility, it achieved this goal. Hard to believe it was built in 1995. Well maintained, with practically new equipment. Attractively painted the color of Water ~ turquoise blue. Skiiers & outdoors-types use this facility weekly. Non-Skiiers use it year round as well, since there are classes & activities for all ages & abilities. I noticed but a handful of people walking around who didn't look fit. I like to do a variety of exercises & stretches + laps in the pool inbetween ski days. Hot tub is popular too. This Facility Makes Fitness Fun! read more

I'm not sure why the reviews here are so poor. I joined the Avon Rec center about a month ago and I could not be happier with my experience so far. They have just added a large amount of new weight equipment and the cardio machines are always working (contrary to other reviews I've read). Also, the staff has been very helpful and welcoming. I would recommend this center to anyone. read more

Love the Avon Recreation Center the atmosphere is clean and open. Great pool for doing laps or even just chilling out. My kids especially love the water slide. I took an hour to myself and took a yoga class. The front desk is friendly and helpful. My seven year old son participated in the Avon Kids camp and he never wanted to leave. Such a cute facility but their summer camp for kids is not run very well. They outsource all the paperwork to a camp portal and after a parent spends an hour completing, they tell you even more work and ink signatures required before registration. We have participated in many different camps and this process is by far the most cumbersome. The staff who we were directed to told us we would only need immunization records and a quick health and contact survey but wow was that wrong. The counselors you g and inexperienced. read more

I was visiting Colorado for the week and needed a place to swim to stay in shape for an upcoming meet. Really nice pool and great service. Only $7 to use the pool daily for as long as I wanted. I came early in the morning as well as right before close with no problem. read more

They also told my 16 year old daughter she couldn't come in a shirt.That she needed to use a bikini. We asked for a refund but no money. They told my daughter that that asked the kids that go to her school and said she's not old enough. read more

Nice clean locker rooms. 2 family change rooms. Towels available for rent. No life jackets, noodles only. Large kiddie area and lazy river is great for relaxing. Also a lap swim section. Everyone was kind and friendly. They have the swimsuit dryer too in the locker room. We didnt use anything except pool. read more

Really beautiful pool with a lot of fun stuff for kids to do. My biggest beef is the height requirement for the slide. 48 inches for this slide is silly. Most pools with much larger slides have kids able to go on at 42 inches. Charging $2 for towels is also too much given the price of admission. read more
