Carrie Wooten, Carrie Wooten, Carrie Wooten is all I have to say about the Vail Vitality Center…read more She is the best massage therapist I have ever been to and I don't say that lightly. I discovered her last year on my trip to Vail and had to see her again this year. In fact, it was the only thing that I really wanted to do. Her touch is so incredibly healing and is so good at what she does that you don't even have to tell her what's wrong - she just finds the problem. She also cares about the quality of the massage that she gives and goes the extra mile to make sure you leave relaxed and feeling wonderful. In addition to Carrie, the spa is very nice, well kept, quiet and clean. All things you want when going to a spa and all things you expect when going to a spa in Vail. I will definitely come back again next year - already looking forward to it.

Overall I liked the services I got! Facial, body scrub and a massage. I enjoyed the amenities such…read moreas the sauna and hot tub but unfortunately some amenities were closed and I would have appreciated a warning about that. They had male workers speaking loudly to each other in Spanish the entire 7 hours I was there. They were clanking around and you could hear it all the way in the massage rooms. The restrooms were not kept up with and I did lodge a complaint about the loud noise and dirty restrooms. Nothing seemed to change. The sauna is right next to the waiting room and treatment rooms leading to extremely dry heat making my throat sore and my body sweaty. The spa has some renovations and improvements to make. The cleaning people were mopping the locker room floors I slipped and fell. There was not a single yellow caution "slippery when wet" sign. They couldn't have mopped after the spa closed? Last but not least the front desk I made the reservation with did not communicate to my masseuse leading to some bumps in the road there. Only go to this spa if you have no other options and want to listen to loud speaking Spanish male maintenance workers clank around, possibly slip and fall, smell some horrible smells in the restroom and get a sore throat.

I can't believe I haven't given a review to The Schussbaumer Ski Club yet? Yelp is telling me to…read moredo a review so I guess not. A great spot in the mountains for Denver and Colorado Metro Area residents for active adults in the heart of Breckenridge. You can't beat it for the cost! There is a state of the art kitchen, dorm style bunk bed rooms (but they are comfy), a bar and social area stocked with beer and a wine club (for a nominal fee), ski/board tuning bench, heated patio complete with fire pit and torch lamps for socializing outside when there is a chill. Great group of people in a very social/active club. There is a process to becoming a member and membership is extremely limited at this time, however I feel very lucky to be a member of this fabulous club.

I am so happy to write the 1st review of the Schussbaumer Ski Club. I've been a member for nearly 3…read moreyears. The club started in Georgetown in 1952, but had to move and make way for I-70. So in 1961 Breckenridge Ski Resort opened and shortly after construction on the beloved Chalet completed. It sleeps nearly 80 people comfortably plus sleep out sofas. The ski club is a great way to meet new people who become friends and you have someone to ski/board with. The age of members runs from mid 20s to 80s. The set up is like a private frat house. You pay a yearly fee that covers your stay there as much as you want (no more then 4 nights in a row). You arrive and sign in to a bed. There's a men & women's floor with 9 rooms each that sleep 4 and private hall bathrooms. The house does not have a cleaning service so every member has to pitch in while there and in the summer we do renovations such as painting, cutting wood, etc. The large kitchen is great. Many members eat breakfast in and either go out or make dinner and stay in by a warm fire. The club members plan many fun themed dinner events such as last night's Valentines Massacre Italian Dinner. There have been many wine & cheese events, 70s & 80s parties, holiday gatherings, etc. We have a few ski tuning benches and a tool cabinet stocked with tools, wax, P-Tex, etc. for those members who like to maintain their own equipment. So, now that you're checked in with a bed, well fed and waxed skis you simply walk out the door to catch a local bus to either the 8 or 9 bases and when you're ready to call it a day you can ski back to the parking lot. There's usually someone already there with a fire going too. For more information on the club and how to be a member check out the website or come to many of the social gatherings around Denver. www.schussbaumer.com

If I had the money to pay for top shelf everything, I obviously wouldn't have stayed here, so maybe…read morethat is something... I'm not sure where to begin, so I will just lay out my experience: I drove from Fort Worth to Breckenridge, got to the hotel, valet got me squared away (as I had 2 karts of luggage to bring to the room). I had my dog, and he has an expensive diet with fresh ground frozen meats. Trying to get settled in, I wanted to crash out ASAP, but I had to unload a plethora of booze and a few other things from the fridge - which I immediately realized did not have any sort of freezer. No problem, I just opened my windows and stuck the meat out on the sill - no problem keeping it frozen. Wanting to wind down (super strung out from that drive), I checked out what was on TV. Thank you EVERYONE who left their subscriptions logged in! I got into some shows that I would have never seen otherwise! Then I thought I'd pop some popcorn - no microwave (wtf). I seriously thought about walking out to the lobby in my undies to get my corn popped, but the building was freezing cold. I highly recommend carrying a hot plate and small pot, because I always do, and hardly ever need it - except for this time. I never popped my corn, but made plenty of soup. Then came time to actually crash out. I like to bathe before I bed in, so that's what I did. I ran the water in the tub on full hot until full. The room was so cold, the tub cooled the water significantly, but that really didn't bug me too bad. It's when I was layed down in the tub when I realized I had to stand up each time I needed soap and shampoo lol... Hey, no prob, I did that, relaxed, everything was great, even the sliding barn door :D I crawled into bed, and it was GREAT. Maybe my own bed sucks, but I was in heaven...... until it all started. I could hear EVERYTHING! Doors slamming, people talking, dogs barking (to which mine responded - uggh), and TRASH TRUCKS OMG! These things really were all I have to complain about. Every member of staff: cleaning ladies, valet guys, TALENTED bartenders, etc... we're great! I am giving 4 stars, because I'm really not into the ski resort thing enough to know what is the norm, but I have to bring these things to your attention. I would probably stay there again. I've read the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews, and I sympathize. My vacation was great, but the room was the cilantro (great to some, awful to others).

Amazing location, quick access to the lifts and Main Street. Great coffee shop right by check in…read moreand the onsen was a huge added bonus. Staff was helpful and room was comfortable and quiet. They let us keep our gear in our car and access it daily to change in and out of ski gear instead of setting ourselves up with ski lockers which was nice too. The parking was an added 45$ a day but the convenience was too good to beat. Will be back for future ski trips!
