The crew showed up on-time a week later to start the work. The crew took three days to do most of the work since the chimney had water damage repairs that needed to be made. The change order was complete with pictures of the damage and a fair quote to finalize the work. Once the cap was made it took just another few hours to complete everything. The team arrived at 7:30 AM and worked until 5:00. At the end of each day, the work site was all cleaned up any trash was taken away. Overall, a good team to work with. I contacted the owner, who initially said he would follow up, but after several days I had to reach out again. The company ultimately refused to reimburse the replacement cost, arguing that protective tape had been removed from the lock. However, their crew had instructed us to use the front door during the job, so I don't believe it was reasonable to expect the protection to remain in place without warning or without reapplying it. I wasn't looking for anything beyond the cost of replacing the damaged lock. Unfortunately, the company chose not to stand behind the situation.
