The only comic shop in the white plains area..aside from the one in the Westchester mall..there are a couple good ones in ct..cave comics..problem with ah.yeah is they short stock the new books..I was looking for the reprint of a fantastic four book..came in the after noon...when it came out .gone..they only get 5 copies of a book..so i end up buying online from midtown comics...or go to cave comics in Newtown where they have plenty of copies...they also do not stock a lot of the more adult indie books..or the two morrows books like alter ego or back issue...and certainly not.the new black and white conan book from titan ..so I only go there occasionally..there are a lot better stores around...also the main guy at the desk is a bit of a snob f read more

OK, everytime I come here I have to force myself out or I won't have any money left. They have new books and TONS of back issues, it would take days to go thru all of that...no complaints at all. The only complaint I have has NOTHING to do with the shop, it's the parking, they built condos across the street from the shop which took 90% of the parking away...But their is a parking garage on the block which will only just cost you a couple of bucks, you just have to download the app on your phone, they do not have a pay machine where you get a receipt to put in your window. It's a comic book store! It's a comic line! They're artists! They're publishers! It's all that and more! This new brick & mortar store on Halstead Ave is up and running, offering new issue comic books from all the major publishers (Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, etc) as well as many boutique mini & micro lines. They have 2 other stores in 2 other cities, so that qualifies them as a chain, but this newest store still has a neighborhood feel. In addition to new books, they offer graphic novels (for both young and old), toys & collectibles, card & table games (Magic, Hero Clix). There are even a few old school arcade standups including a pinball machine. These guys really want to make this a hangout/clubhouse. Prices are face value on books and collectibles are a little on the high side, but they have a lot of items you won't normally see. Because they are a new shop, they don't have any back issues yet for serious collectors, but I'm sure they're working on that. You'll probably find me dropping by every once in a while to check out what's new. read more

Marc is a great conversationalist, or he can turn off and just listen. He makes the store awesome to visit. The store is great and has comics, toys, pops, graphic novels, and pinball. The back issue section has some gems, and extensive. The great news is that Marc makes every effort to find what you're looking for, and usually does find it. Pricing is fair and never overinflated. You can also have a comic subscription with just one book! Unheard of! And there are some great events with talented writers and artists throughout the year. Love this place!! Mark is a very friendly and considerate man. He goes out on a limb for his customers. The atmosphere is so pleasant that I just go in there to see mark. This store is my happy place. The events they hold are just amazing. No need to go to nyc and go to the comic book stores there. This is a real comic book store. Ermagerd, I love this shop! Clean, well-lit, knowledgeable staff, an arcade in the back and if they don't have it, they can order it for you. The owner, Marc, is a great dude who really stands behind the mom n pop mentality of customer service. He always has a great anecdote or recommendations for new reads. If you're lucky, you'll see Franco (yes, THAT Franco!) rolling up his sleeves and working it like a boss. Bring the kids for gaming, pick up your weekly pulls (subscribers get 10% off comics!) and check out their signings and other events! This store is great. Today was my first visit and the staff ensured that it would be the first of many to come. As soon as i walked in the door I was greeted. I came for information on heroclix and not only was the staff member knowledgable but also invited me to sit down and play a friendly learners match. After playing a couple matches I looked around at the terrific selection of comics they have and purchased a comic and a booster of clix. My fiancee and I were extremely impressed by the professionalism the staff maintained while still providing the warm feeling of a mom and pop shop. This place is awesome and ill be back to play heroclix on Sundays. read more
