I love Indian food and I travel a lot so I always look for new places to try. I saw this was a fairly new location with a healthy mixture of dishes, so I stopped in. The folks at the front desk are super friendly and this place is decorated in a more upscale fashion than most Indian joints. Appetizer - the lamb samosas were fairly bland and much smaller than other samosas I've eaten recently, but the pastry was crisp and fresh. The dipping sauce cups were basically empty when I opened them but tasty. Naan - excellent flavor and texture Main Course - the tikka, which I ordered spicy, was light on chicken. The flavors were quite robust, but the spice level could've been much hotter. Overall, great vibe, large menu, and friendly staff. Will definitely be back. read more

Amazing menu with lots of choices for an Incredible India restaurant! Service was excellent with such a large group of us tonight for dinner. Background music was soothing and relaxing as well. I ordered the Butter Chicken and the Nan bread basket to share, a great variety of different kinds! My rice was so fluffy and paired perfectly with the Butter Chicken! May you be lucky enough to dine here without a yowling child at nearby booth. Certainly that's not the restaurant's fault but it did point our how loud this place is, surrounded by hard surfaces. Our meal didn't meat our expectations; the tandoori chicken pieces were from a runt chicken, the goat dish had more bones that meat, and the extra spicy vindaloo was anything but. I used to live close to Awadh and order here as often a I could. I got to dine in today and had the malai kofta and the Mutter Paneer, both extra spicy, the bullet naan, and fresh coconut water. Everything was delicious and the food had a nice kick. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with cute furniture and the service is always really friendly. I highly recommend it! read more

Only 2nd time experiencing Indian cuisine, but I'm rapidly becoming a fan. This was our 1st vistit to Awadh, but I would definitely go again. We started off with Lehsuni Gobi - I'm not sure how you can make cauliflower taste so good, but I could have made a meal of just this....Springrolls were exceptional as well. Entree's of Chicken Tika Masala (no heat) for my wife & Vindaloo Lamb for me (medium heat). We both enjoyed them very much. Adding a bread basket for just two of us was massively overkill, but it was wonderful & became a late night snack for me later. :) read more

Nice, small place. We walked in and there roughly 5 tables and 4-5 booths. The waiter was very polite and allowed us to customize our orders as requested. The food came out in about 15-20 minutes so pretty good timing. The food was good. I wouldn't say it was amazing or that I'll be specifically craving this restaurant, but still good. read more

My friends threw my baby shower party for me and had food catered by Awadh. For appetizer, we had a chaat station, which had chana and then all the toppings (sev, onions, tomatoes, yogurt, tamarind, chutney) available. There was also one worker who manned the chaat station and made the chaat bowls. We loved the chaat. For dinner, we had vegetable jalfrezi, rice, naan, tandoori chicken, and fish curry. Not all the items available at their restaurant is halal, so my friends ordered chicken (which is halal) and fish. I wish they would have all halal meat options. The fish curry was good and did not have a smell to it and the tandoori chicken and naan were nice to have together. The tandoori was not dry, which was a plus. read more

Came in kinda close to closing time. The staff was excellent. The food is authentic. I started with the lamb samosa. The flavor was top tier. The outside had a seasoned salt that surprised and thrilled my palate. I had the rara lamb main course. It may be my favorite Indian dish I've had. The combination of seasonings was rich with enough heat and the meat was succulent. Wake up those taste buds! Tucked away in a strip mall is this hidden gem. The menu tells the story of a chef who wants to share his family recipes with the world. We were impressed with the level of service, depth of flavor and portion size for the price. The Tandoori chicken was serve grilled, on a hot plate. Four large pieces, full of spice, smoke and love! We also asked for sweet bread, which was not on the menu. We explained that we like it with coconut and raisins, and they immediately accommodated us. We also enjoyed the butter chicken, but in our haste, we did not grab a picture. Keep in mind this restaurant is in a strip mall, but don't let that called you back. We stop here whenever we are heading to this part of town. Great variety of dishes, but my favorite is by far the pan-fried spicy paneer. I would choose it as one of my top 5 dishes in Columbus. I had recently heard about this restaurant about a week or 2 ago. We ordered the usual stuff: chicken tikka, vegetable biryani, and samosas. Loved it! While we ordered one of the dishes as medium heat, there wasn't much spice. Not a problem! Everything was tasty! The samosas were also fantastic! Sometimes these are made with way too much potato that it's almost bland. Not so here! Lots of vegetables inside! We had called and ordered for pick up. Paid when we got there.
