Pros: Attached their grocery store Meals are cooked on authentic Tandoor oven - amazing to see naan cooked on it Amazing what they can cook in such a small kitchen Friendly owner and staff Cons: Limited menu dining room could be a bit bigger Pro tip: They do a brisk takeout business, so order early. Definitely get their delicious naan!

Tandoori Grill is off of Bethel road right in a strip mall opposite Five Guys. It's a Pakistani restaurant which serves Indian and Pakistani food. Trust me when I say best tandoori (kebabs) in town. The restaurant is small with about 5-6tables but it's run by a very kind gentlemen. Owner is nice and very welcoming, been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Don't go here with high service expectations but go here because you want to try something new that will expand your palate. My recommendations would be Chicken samosas (Appetizer) Tandoori Chicken Chicken Haleem Butter Chicken Do give them a try next time you around the area!!

The goat qurma/ korma. Get it. You won't regret it. It's a go to order for my husband and I and its never disappointed.

Best tandoori chicken roti wrap/roll!!! I have had my share of chicken rolls from around the world, and I'd say the roll I had at TG was top of that list. What a treat with soft tandoori roti with all the extra mint chatni, onions, and cilantro complementing the overall flavor of the tender boneless tandoori chicken. I topped it off with Badam (almond) drink which was served as a dessert at the end. My feedback to TG is to keep innovating how to use their famous boneless tandoori chicken with a wide variety of bread and non-bread options. It's a MUST TRY next time you're in the area.

Really disappointed. Their quality has gone down over the years, but never this bad. Ordered a family platter for Father's Day dinner. All the rice that came as sides with the order had gone bad. You could smell that the rice was spoiled right away when we opened the boxes at home. It was too late to go back or call them about it because they had closed. Will not be going back.

I have tried most of the Indian restaurants in Columbus. Tandoori Grill is among my least favorite. The food is simply not as good, and not worth it even though it's pretty inexpensive. It sometimes looks so old on the buffet. The buffet at lunch is the best value since you get as much as you want, but this is no value if the food looks like shit and tastes worse. I have passed by here many times since there's lots of good restaurants around. It's good there's other places to go. There's several average Indian restaurants near here. It took me awhile to choose this with all the other places, and the first time wasn't that bad. The lunch buffet was the best thing to get here since it's the cheapest and you can get as much as you want. It used to be much better, but now the buffet sucks because there's not much to choose from, and they take forever to refill it. The last time there were only 7 items, and more than half had meat in them. It's about $8 for the buffet. This is cheap for a buffet but it's not that much of anything. I ordered the samosas so I wouldn't have to leave still hungry. The samosas tasted like they were frozen and warmed up. There was spice but otherwise a serious lack of taste in the buffet food. In addition, the service is very poor. The last time there was no one to seat us, and the waitstaff took forever to clear plates and refill water. I would pass by this place and choose another Indian restaurant because there's so many of them. It's still not the worst but it's really bad. The service also sucks so it makes it an easy choice not to come back here.

Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the different reviews. It was our first time dining here and we really enjoyed it. The food was very flavorful and spiced nicely. We tried two new dishes - Dumm Biryani with chicken (Traditional one-dish meal) & Chicken Kabab Karhai with a side of rice. Also tried a sampling of the dessert options. Would go back and have recommended it to friends. They took the coupon we had with no problem.

    Mango lassi!

We tried a few different things, I liked the sambar, chutney, and potato accompanied by the dosa. I also tried chole puri, and truly enjoyed this one, the spices were mild and not overpowering like the many other Indian restaurants. Service was quick and the tables were clean. I wish the dosas were not so oily, that was the only downside, hope they improve this next time.

At first we got someone else's order. Pointing this out to the waiter seemed to bother them. I'm not particularly interested in eating sometime else's food. First dosa put on our table was very cold. We asked the waitress. She rolls her eyes and says "it's fresh, what do you want me to do". Two other plates for our table come out. Food is hot and fresh. Clear difference in quality. One of the dosas is pancake-like. Super thick. Some have barely any potato. After food was delivered, waitress stopped checking at our table. No water refills or anything else. The ones that were made well were good. But there's no consistency, and pointing it out gets you worse service and poor treatment.

I've lived in Atlanta for almost 30 years and never found an Indian restaurant that got it right. Then I stumbled onto Taj on Fifth in Columbus, Ohio on a business trip, and it might be the best Indian meal I've had outside of home. The lamb chops were incredible... I single-handedly finished the entire order and have no regrets. The butter chicken was the real thing: creamy, properly spiced, none of the honey-sweetened version so many restaurants pass off as authentic. The garlic naan was thin and crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy in that perfect way you only get from a real tandoor. I'm a 100-pound woman who typically can't finish a single entree, let alone two. Most Indian food is so heavy and greasy that I'm done after a few bites. Here, I polished off a full order of lamb chops and half the butter chicken and garlic naan... one and a half entrees, solo, no help. ‍ Rich, properly balanced, and never heavy. That's rare! The service made the meal even better. My server, Deepak, struck that perfect balance...attentive without hovering. Turns out he's actually the owner and the chef behind the menu, and he took ten minutes tableside to chat with me. We realized he trained at IIHM in Hyderabad, which happens to be my hometown. That explains everything... the food isn't just made with passion, it's made with real technical training behind it. I also had the Jasmeen Dream cocktail, which was a great pairing. If you're anywhere near Columbus, this is a must. I'm already trying to figure out an excuse to go back.

When we walked in, the restaurant was filled with happy diners, many of whom appeared to be of Indian descent--which is always a great sign when you're looking for authentic Indian food. We ordered the classic butter chicken and beef korma (we substituted beef for the lamb), along with the garlic naan. The garlic naan was perfect--crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and the perfect vehicle for scooping up all that delicious curry and getting it straight into my happy belly! The sauces were absolutely amazing and packed with flavor. The servers were also very friendly, attentive, and professional, which made the experience even better. We were really happy with our experience at Taj on 5th and so glad we stumbled upon it while searching Yelp for great restaurants nearby. Definitely a wonderful find and a place we'd happily return to!

Some of it's the food. It is wildly variable in quality. Some nights it's absolutely delicious and rich, but lately no matter how spicy I order my food it comes to me as though no seasoning was added at all. What have you done to your curry that it is somehow *boring*? Or the Tikka Masala my wife ordered that seemingly had no tomatoes added to it and was a bright shade of yellow; I'm convinced that it was a very bland korma. But the service also leaves a lot to be desired. Dinner with four adults and a toddler a few months ago ended with 2 of the adults getting their food while the other two adults waited 20 minutes to get theirs -- all while trying to keep an impatient toddler from losing it. Today, the food I called in at 1:20 and was told would be ready in a half hour still wasn't ready at 2:15. No apology, no partial refund. Just wait another 15 minutes. I'm done with this place. It's too inconsistent.
