This restaurant is located adjacent to an Indian grocery store so it was nice that we could look around the restaurant while waiting for our food. Bottled waters were on the table but costed extra, so we opted to buy cold drinks from the grocery store. The guava drink was very sweet but refreshing nonetheless. I'm a big fan of Indochinese cuisine, so the Szechuan noodles caught my eye. I got a paneer version and even though I got it medium spice level, it had me sweating! I liked how it came with lots of chopped lettuce and onions for crunch and the paneer was cut into thin slices so it soaked up the spices well. If you love a good rice dish, biryani is the way to go. The masakali goat biryani with the hot spice level definitely had lots of heat to it. The meat and spices are kinda buried inside so make sure to mix it well before digging in. The gongura chicken biryani also looked very good so you can't really go wrong with these. Next time, I wanna try the dosa! A table next to us ordered some and they took up half the table The portions were large so you will definitely leave full or with leftovers! Once you are done eating, you pay at the counter before you leave. Service was pretty slow and it was very hot inside the restaurant because they had two fans but one of them was very weak. Close to where I live, I was looking for samosas. They had veggie samosas with the mint sauce that were really really good. A little spice but not too much. Also tried these chicken puff pastry things that were awesome. A cross between a puff pastry dough and a Jamaican patty, I was really surprised how much I liked it. I got the carrot dessert that had raisins and cashews from the refrigerated case. It didn't look like there was a lot there but it's so rich, it actually lasted me for leftovers. Best CTM I've ever had! Some coworkers took me here as they frequent just about every other week. The garlic naan is so good and the CTM medium was delicious. The restaurant is connected to a market and the seating is nice and spacious. They even have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. There is lots of parking as it is in a small shopping area off Sancus Blvd/Lazelle. The service was quick! My order was placed and in about 8min it was served. Every dish here is very very spicy. They just throw chillies into everything. We have requested mild every time and still they make it too spicy. It does not become true indian food just throwing chillies. Biryani feel is never fresh and in evening they serve morining made. By evening they give no dum and dry rice mostly. The biryani at Hyderabad House is by far the best I've had out of the many establishments here in Columbus. Hands down. The garlic naan here is also my favorite. I have not strayed too far from the biryanis thus far, but my paneer tikka masala was also fantastic. When you first walk in and head to the restaurant area, you're always greeted warmly. The ambiance may not be everybody's cup of tea, as it is inside of an Indian supermarket, but to me this adds to the authenticity of the place and is still plenty relaxing for a nice meal. Service has always been fantastic and professional when I'm there for a work lunch. After having now visited multiple times, I felt compelled to leave a five star review. So I ordered a masala dosa and masala came separately, when I asked the staff I was told you have to tell us specifically to put masala inside masala dosa which didn't made sense to me hence 3 stars....I have ordered some to go so will update the review if needed. Every dish was spiced well and delicious. Everything tastes authentic and flavorful. All the dishes seemed like they took a lot of time and care to make. We stopped by Hyderabad House for a carry-out order. The restaurant shares the same entrance and space as an Indian grocery store (Trinethra), and has its own area for customers wishing to dine in. Despite the small space size (and an even smaller kitchen space), the menu here is quite extensive, and one can easily get lost amongst the sea of Biriyani options. During our visit for lunch, we noticed that they had a lot of carry-out orders. The staff did not appear overwhelmed, however, and kept churning out the orders efficiently. Our order was also on time and accurate. We ordered a Chicken Dum Biriyani (a Hyderabadi special), and a Chicken Tikka Biriyani (clearly NOT a Hyderabadi special). The dum biriyani was decent - good portion size, correct chicken to rice ratio, and the right level of spiciness. The chicken tikka biriyani was a different story altogether - it came in the same container as the dum biriyani but had maybe 2 small pieces of boneless chicken. I think the key to ordering food at this restaurant is knowing what not to order - they appear to do well with certain menu items and are well below average with certain other items. The place has potential, but they should either ramp up the quality of all their menu items or narrow down their offerings to what they do best. read more

The definition of a hole in the wall place; was first second guessing based on the crowd of people and the overwhelmed hosts, however we chose to stay and I'm so glad we did. I got the veg lunchbox for $6.99, which is enough for 2 meals. It was a little too spicy for me to finish (I'll take it home), but that wouldn't stop me from getting it again. It was really tasty and came with 2 pieces of naan wrapped in foil. It is inside a small grocery, off to the right side. There's a small dining area and they had a lunch crowd. There were 2 people waiting by the counter, and I wasn't sure how to order. The people working were rushing around, bringing out plated food, and bagging carryout orders. There was one guy handling the dine-in's. I finally went up to him when he was at the counter and told him I wanted to order carryout. He punched my order in on the order screen, and took my payment. He said it would be 15-20 minutes and I said fine. After about 12 minutes the guy behind the counter asked me what I ordered, and I told him. He had it out to me in another 5. Lately, everything they do seems to just have a dump of green chillis. I love spicy food, but literally everything has a heavy handed use pf chillis.
