Ive been to this nail salon twice already and love it. The staff is friendly and attentive, also they only take appointments during covid era and have alot of safety measures in place, masks, barriers, etc. The pedicure is always great, I get the French tips and a normal pedicure. They do alot to clean your feet and make your nails looking pretty. I am new to the area and was looking for a home salon. I am a review reader and read both positives and negatives but there is always 2 sides to every story so I wanted to experience it myself. I was greeted with a smile and listened to when I was asked how I wanted my nails done. Van was my first technician and I shared with him some of the reviews. He assured me they clean their equipment and take safety measures seriously. He did an excellent job on my nails and I am fussy. Second visit was with Tony the owner. I have been here 6 times and loved my gel manicure every time except today. The picture speaks for itself but she completely destroyed my cuticles to the point that both of my hands were bleeding during the appointment. I use to always come to this salon to get my nails done. I haven't been back in a while. I just went in recently for a manicure and a pedicure, and I was disappointed. My toes were left with polish on the skin and barely any polish on my actual toenail. It looked sloppy. For my fingernails, I requested that she file the nails rounded square and they were uneven, and not what I requested. In addition, the polish was not applied nicely in that a lot of nail bed was exposed. The whole process was rushed and it reflected on the outcome. Sadly I won't be returning. read more

My service was AMAZING! Tiffany was my nail tech-she was really polite and funny at times, it had been a long day and I really just needed to relax and she seemed to get that. She offered me bottled water to start while she was getting my foot bath ready. She offered the luxury pedi-I declined but based on the service, I wouldn't have known. My mani was also great - I was so relaxed at one point she had to ask me to snap out if it to get ahold of my other hand!! Came here for a gel manicure color change. The ladies working were very lovely. Super polite staff. I was a walk-in and they were able to help me right away. My manicure is already lifting which is the reason for 4-stars and not 5 but sometimes you just need an extra coat of gel or it could be the nail polish brand they use. The salon is nicely decorated and comfortable. The staff is nice. The only negative is to be careful of the pricing. I got a luxury pedicure and basic manicure for $55. i live in the neighborhood, and love the greetings i get as a customer. The staff recognizes me and always try to accomodate me, even when I stop in last minute. I typically make an appt- but have been known to drop in. Their service is great and detailed. Their polishes are fresh w. lots of color options. especially for gel (some salons are limited here) The chairs are very comfortbale. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, love it. read more

I've been going to Award Nails for the last 5 yrs and have always had the best service, the most professional nail technicians of anywhere in the Twin Cities. They're great with last minute appointments, and the salon is always clean, comfortable and they have a huge nail color selection! Recently one of the technicians was let go when the manager discovered several incidences of over-charging and behavior concerns. Unfortunately it appears several low ratings on Yelp may be because of that technician and many posted by that disgruntled former employee. I called in on a Saturday am to see if they had openings. Got there and they sure did!! I was greeted and told to pick my color. First time here getting my gel fill.. and oo my!!! I switched my color several times and the owner made a suggestion and I sure don't regret it!! The owners are super friendly!!! They speak to you and interact with you!! The did ombré nails and they do not charge extra! They do an incredible job! Hands down a go to place!!! Nails turned out just the way I like them! Very happy with the results. I came here last November for a pedi before my vacation. I usually go to a different Salon but this one is closer to my home and I thought I give it a try. Here is a list of items that taught me to never try a different salon again. 1. Disorganized: I made an appointment over the phone but when I arrived, the owner could not find my appointment and asked me for my phone number so he could check the phone logs to verify that I did call. As a result, they kept me waiting for 15 mins. 2. The owner, a man, stood next to me while the gal was working on my pedi and tried to up-sell me on several items. First he tired to convince me into getting a luxury pedi which I agreed to. He went away, but came back a little after and harassed me into getting a manicure. I told him that I didn't need one but he didn't take no for an answer and repeated himself again. I told him yet again, that I didn't care for one. Then he tried to convince me to get a shellac nail paint upgrade for an additional $10. Again, I had to tell him several times that I did not need it. I felt harassed and stressed out instead of feeling relaxed and pampered. 3. While the girl was working on my upgraded pedi, she set the timer on for the leg massage. One of her co-workers walked to the back of the store and she stopped working on me, and turned around to talk (loudly) to that person...while the timer was still ticking. 4. I was the last person in the salon that night, and one of the other staff members was sweeping up at the front of the store, and the girl who was working on my pedi and I were in the back of the store. They started to chat with one another and with the distance between them, the gal working on me was practically shouting to her co-worker at the front of the store. It was deafening, rude, unprofessional and downright stressful for me. I came in here to relax and pampered but instead, I felt stressed out and uncomfortable....yet again. 5. After the pedi was completed, they sat me under the drier at the front of the store. The owner (my favorite person) had the front door open while he talked to some dude outside. Did I mentioned it was November? I was sat without a jacket, in knee length shorts (since I was getting a pedi) right by the front door. Needless to say, I was absolutely freezing and the owner didn't notice or care. I've never been treated this way at my regular nail salon. I will never be back here. There was nothing I enjoyed about this place. What a nightmare! read more

Went in for a mani-pedi, the water for the pedicure was lukewarm :-( not what you are looking for on a cold day. The actual pedicure was good, but seeing the pedicure of the person next to me the 2 were not consistent at all! The manicure was extremely nice, did the gel polish and really like how it turned out! This is the only nail salon I will patronize! They have the most comfy pedicure chairs. You can recline the chair, allowing yourself the full relaxation experience. The staff is very attentive and want you to be satisfied and happy with their service. My gel manicures last 3 weeks. read more

They have good prices and they are nice... But they don't do a very good or consistent job. Several times they have not put a full coat on the nail and I didn't notice until I got home. Sometimes they forget to do the lotion and wax. This past time, I got a French manicure and she missed a bunch of the pink polish and the top coat didn't cover the entire nail. There are just strips of bare nail near my cuticle. I didn't have time for her to redo it, nor did I want to be bitchy, so I didn't say anything. I just won't be returning. I have not picked at them nor done any manual labor since getting them. I'm no expert on gel nails, but ive heard they should last longer than 1 week. My last set looked great for at least 2 weeks. I was looking for a place nearby before I head home. So I read reviews thought I'd give this place a try. My daughter and I had pedicures done by the husband and wife who I believe was the owner/manager. While we was getting massage More people started coming in. He left my daughter's feet wrap with warm towel and jumped onto the table and work on another service. My daughter did not get her nails painted for 20 min later by his wife. These services to me are like stealing $ from my pocket. Very unprofessional. They barely speak English and half of the time they pretend to know what I'm saying. Nevertheless is a lesson learn. I just hope my review help people to be careful when you walk in there. They jump from one pedicure to another using the same equipment that they use on previous service onto the next. I have had several pedicures here, but finally decided not to return. Each time I was pressured to pay cash instead of credit card (I politely declined each time). I was also pressured to have gel polish at a higher price. My pedicures the cut my toe and made it bleed when working on the cuticles and was generally rough. She also argued with her coworker/husband while working on my toes, and another time was complaining that her phone wasn't getting service and asking everyone in the place if they were getting service. Honestly, this was the worst experience in a nail salon I've ever had. A friend of mine and I popped in for mani-pedis. They set us up for the pedicures and just as we started soaking, they came over with menus of their pedicure services. We just wanted a basic mani-pedi, which is what we said, and pointed to the cheapest option on the menu. We only later found out that the "basic" manicure we asked for was not on their menu, and the cheapest option we pointed to on the menu, was not the basic, but a more expensive option. We found this out when we paid. As they did the pedicure they tried to upsell us to a gel manicure. We both said no, but they continued the upsell, over and over and over again. I was sitting with my hands in the dryer when they came over and told me I was done, I could go. So, I left and promptly smudged my thumbnail, which clearly wasn't given enough time to dry. I returned to the salon and they tried to touch it up, but they only made it worse, so they finally redid the whole nail and as I sat drying again, they tried to upsell me again on the gel manicure!!!
