Tony and I got to the flea market about 930am and it was already busy. We parked (free parking) and started walking around. We looked everywhere outside and in, found nothing we couldnt live without. First time at Flea Market where I never bought anything. Things were either too high or closed. I would go there again and if you are in the area check it out.

Awesome???? My A55! Drove down 65 to Shepherdsville to check out the large awesome flea market. Food was limited to a one or two places. The place was pretty busy most if the vendors were friendly. We were looking for some deals. On starter tomato plants. Bring cash, The ATM machines phone lines got hit yesterday. The morning of the derby race. They have some deals for somethings, tools, movies, toys, camo bdu. Lodge cast iron, custom signs, t shirts. I didn't care for the dog mill situation, or the fact, fresh produce was very limited. So no great deals. The indoor flea market was nice cool the bathrooms were sort of handicap accessible. The doors thresholds were difficult to negotiate/maneuver even with help and do not attempt to negotiate the ramp out back. To shop outside since the parking lot has a dangerous grade (read... this will hurt and leave a scar) if you live it's also going to hurt real bad.. even for two persons / helper. The standard ramp should have 1 foot of run for every inch of rise. Many of the booths were empty or vendors took off for this Sunday. I'd come back again after I'm board to get out and do anything like exercise. Wear good shoes. And your feet will be thankful.

Not really awesome...tools, guns, knives and articulated action figures. Inside is much better than outside. Just go to Walmart.

And I had found that it once again expanded even more within the giant warehouse it occupies. It is quite easy to get lost in the maze of booths, but you're guaranteed a lot to look at along the way. Fleur de Flea is as much of an experience as it is a shopping spot. There are several midcentury modern furniture booths, as well as others selling all manner of art, jewelry, books, clothes, records, plants and more. On my most recent visit, I came away with a book of the script of a show I really love and a fun T-shirt. Fleur de Flea also sells cocktails and other drinks if you'd like to sip while you shop, and it's very pet friendly. You're likely to see a pup shopping alongside its owner, and Fleur de Flea's resident doggo can be found sitting on the counter by the cash registers. This is a spot that is becoming uniquely Louisville for me. I love it so!

Spending an hour here (preferably on the weekend with a cocktail) is one of my favorite shopping adventures! Great staff and they know their stuff! All part of the adventure!

We stopped in yesterday after lunch and spent close to 45 minutes looking around. The store itself isn't huge but it's bigger than it looks from the outside and there is a great selection of things for sale. They seem to have everything from clothing to jewelry to accessories to matchbooks and even old Playboy magazines. I was very impressed with most of the prices that I saw because honestly they seemed pretty reasonable compared to what I typically see at vintage/thrift stores these days. They were even having a sale on swimsuits! The lady working was also friendly and offered her assistance but also left us alone to peruse which I always appreciate. Ultimately all we purchased yesterday was a mood ring but the kiddo is saving her money for clothes and wants to come back when she's ready to add to her wardrobe so we will definitely be in again. The Neon Flea is a nice addition to the neighborhood!

Nitty Gritty was by far the most thoughtfully curated of the stores we went to - but also the most expensive. As we perused the men's section upstairs, we noticed that several items were well above the budget we had set in place. That being said, the quality of nearly all of the items was above average. This is a true vintage store - not one where you will find used clothes bought from Target four years ago (not that there is anything wrong with that either). After about half an hour, he settled on a pair of $30 snowboarding pants that normally sells, from what our internet search revealed, for well over $150, so even though there was some initial sticker shock, the pants were well worth it. He also procured a very vintage sweater vest for $12 which he is insistent he will pair somehow with the pants - I'm looking forward to seeing this outfit. At any rate, I highly recommend this store for the true vintage connoisseur - someone who is looking for well made, lasting pieces and is willing to pay the higher prices for quality. This store has been around for ages and now I understand why: it is a walk back into time. The staff is friendly and helpful, too, which is always a plus, and parking was not an issue, though I had worried it might be.

I went shopping a few weeks back with my 5 girls and some friends when we stopped into this shop. The building walking in will Give you big time nostalgia vibes. Lots of oldest clothing styles and vintage items to browse in this two level shop. The men's department is upstairs and the costume rental area is in the very rear. When back there be sure to look in the rafters for some old school child terrorizing animal mascot heads that are fun to check out. On our trip here my oldest found a 50s retro looking swim suit that she fell in love with. It was reasonably priced so we made the purchase. Overall a pretty cool shop that was fun to browse and brought a blast from the past feeling for me personally. Only strange thing was there was rack with an old uofl mascot hoodie my second oldest wanted but it wasn't priced yet so they simply said "not for sale".

There's also mid-century furniture and decorative objects, gloves, hats and a few dresses, but oh the handbags handbags handbags handbags oh sorry, was I saying something? I got distracted by LOOKING AT THE PRECIOUS. (Seriously if you have never seen Lucite handbags before, this is such a fun place to check them out. I entered with a mild interest, and left with an absolute fetish.) This store is aimed at a enthusiast/collector crowd, and prices are not cheap - but I've never seen anything not in lovely condition, and I've loved every purchase I've made here. (And some things, like gloves and smaller items, can actually be a total steal) The owner is both fun and very knowledgeable - definitely a place to strike up a conversation while you browse.
