We ended our Fern Creek adventure the other day by stopping in the The Big Thrift Outreach Center…read moreon Fegenbush Rd in South Louisville. It is is a church affiliated business and proceeds are used to support the local population. People who staff and run this place are certainly genuine. The space is huge and offers a wide assortment of finds whose prices and way below those founds in other 'thrift' stores. I highly recommend adding this place to your weekly shopping for thrift stores treasures; especially since the money goes to such a great cause.

Yesterday I walked inside this location for the first time as my oldest daughter wanted to "browse" for shirts. Which we all know teenagers don't "browse" they "want". The store itself is I'd say on the medium side to smaller side. It is super cramp and tight in there. If you commit down an aisle you have to see your way through. There isn't an detours or turning around it's so tightly packed in there. Selection is what it is. It's a DAV that as many know they work with what donations they receive. So you kinda have to walk in with an open mind unless clothes shopping. But even then I wouldn't anticipate being to specific. All in all a typical DAV store. This one is kinda smallish or maybe it just felt that way just because it was anxiety inducing cramped in there.

We have dropped donation items off at this location several times in the past few years and…read moreappreciate how easy it is, as well as the mission of this business. There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.)

But over in the corner are stairs that lead to the main shop which is larger than anticipated and pretty full without looking crowded. The booths are well-maintained and tidy. We are in a new city and the finds are very great. We happened upon this unique vintage store. They sell local items and craft creations for sale. It's an all in one type of shop. The staff are very helpful. The store is a small space and parking is on the street . What a cool name too! Come and get your vintage on . They have a great collection of "Louisvilles own unique art of post cards. Love it. Now it's your turn to stop in and see.

Each vendor has an area with a marked tag and of someone buys something from that section then the seller gets the profit agreed upon between them and and the mall. These locations Are plentiful in Louisville. This particular one is located in the hillview portion of Louisville just off Preston highway right before you get to the bullitt county line. Rather large location compared to other ones. I've been here several times over the years to do some bargain shopping or browsing. A lot of the items in these stores will give you nostalgic feels. My most recent visit was to help my father get a Mother's Day gift for my mom as he bought a rocking chair for there front porch and needed my vehicle to transport it. Overall all peddlers mall are cool to search through. Neat idea that evidently is successful as there are a whole bunch of locations in the Louisville area. I have a few family friends and relatives who have had booths at different locations over the years and they seemed to do well with it. So seems like a win win situation.
