Over the last couple of years, I've visited The Flea off Market several times and it doesn't hold the same excitement for me as it once did. The vendors that come are diverse and great to shop, although I can't remember the last time I made a purchase. Due to a smaller number of vendors, today's excursion was short - maybe 30 minutes. Thankfully it was set up in the lot of a local brewery so we grabbed a beer and lingered there. If you're pointed in the direction of The Flea, definitely pull over and browse; however, I can't recommend it as the destination or reason for your outing. read more

The Flea Off Market continues to bring an eclectic array of artisans and sellers together, making for a purely Louisville shopping experience. I partook of the Flea Off Market most recently at its annual indoor holiday bazaar, this year held at Mellwood Art Center. This included a couple of food trucks plus vendors set up throughout the two outside buildings at the art center. I also appreciate how well the Flea sets the mood for their markets, with DJs in each building and a bar where you can buy drinks. The Flea has always been more of an experience, where it's fun to shop and also to hang out. During this most recent market, I found several creative vendors that I wished I could buy from. I said to my friend who accompanied me, "I wish I had people cool enough on my Christmas list to buy some of these things for." Alas, I just had family on my list. ;-P Some of my favorite finds, though, included Georgia's Sweet Potato Pie Co. (also has a spot in the Highlands that's worth a visit!), SnoWhat, Eichen Design, FLY Girl Candles and Eden & Kissi (also has a physical location that you should go to in Buechel). I was also struck by the idea that I really need to make it a point to go to more of the Flea's outdoor markets next year so I can shop these great vendors not just at the holidays. My BF and I got here on Sunday to see what's new. A few food trucks set up throughout. The merchants are super nice and have great stuff. We loved hear local artists singing on the stage. It was just a good times and a great day for walking around and browsing at some stuff. There are so many different booth stuff from plants, clothes, books, jewelry and more. This was such a fun event to attend in Nulu this past weekend. Admission is free and it is located right on Market St., hence the name. Parking can be tricky, but if you park just a short distance away the walk is not too bad. Upon arriving, my friend and I noticed a stage that had a young teen band playing. There were food vendors everywhere. Furthermore, there was plenty of craft beer and local distilleries present as well. This market went as far down as where the new guacamole restaurant is. They had everything from a petting farm, crafts, and local goods for sale. This is a great weekend event to bring family, friends, and the kiddos. It runs almost every weekend, weather permitting! Smaller than I expected. And the marketing video showed all kinds of yard art, but not a single vendor displaying any. For people watching, and meeting fellow dog lovers, the Flea Off Market is fun. You will find local honey, crafts, wood carving, knives, tie dye clothing. But it depends on who decides to show up. The food truck selection was ok. Gourmet Hot Dogs, Wings, Mediterranean. The wings were close to an hour wait for undercooked wings and undercooked fries. Nice folks, but really need to work on quality & consistency. Still ... my wife and I enjoyed ourselves - and it's an expense free way to kill a few hours (unless you hit the food court) ... or buy everything you see. read more

This was your basic flea market - heavy on hand crafted jewelry and clothing; some botanicals; some CBD; etc. There was a nice (although small) food area where we had some exceptional hot dogs. Mine was Waggu beef with cream cheese, jalapeños and a jalapeño jelly. Excellent. Good place to kill a hour or two. read more

The Flea Off Market is that once-a-month type deal that you should make your way to at least once. Whether you plan on actually buying from vendors or not, it's still a fun weekend activity to get you out of the house. The vendors aren't really organized or anything, it's kind of just a surprising mix and *in Forrest Gump voice* you never know what you're gonna get. For a smallish flea market, they have quite a lot of options for food. Plus depending on whether it's being held in Nulu or the Highlands, you'll be within walking distance from a bunch of great restaurants. They'll have street performers from time to time, too. Some of the vendors can be pretty awesome. You'll find a lot of handmade crafts and art, antiques, clothing, etc. You can't really come here though expecting to find something specific. I have come to learn that this Flea market is much, much more desirable than the one in the Expo center. It's more unique and can show the best things about Louisville, all in one place. read more

A great event with lots of solid vendors and food! The "Flea Off" is a recurring event in Louisville with vendors of many stripes and lots of food trucks to delite your palate. Food vendors tend to be pretty varied, from Irish to tacos, to bbq, to Greek, and more. Vendors are even more diverse. You'll see custom woodwork, hand-made soaps, bourbon balls, pet bandanas, window replacement companies, apparel, antiques, jewelry, desserts, accessories, art, leather goods, home decor, and crafts of many of kinds. The market tends to be large and with plenty to see. So you can expect to spend a little time here. Be sure to snag a coffee or a boozy drink to hold while you peruse. The artisans tend to be friendly and ready to talk about their work. And you'll meet some wonderful people around. read more

I have been wanting to visit the Flea Off Market for quite a while now, so I was very excited to go a few weeks ago! This a great event to attend. Any available parking near by was taken - we walked nearly a mile from our car just to come here, but it was well worth it! The Flea Off Market is filled with local vendors. You will find so many unique items here. Everything from clothes to jewelry, art to candles, food and drinks, and so much more! I love that gives the community an opportunity to see local vendors/artists/creators and create a relationship with them. One of the highlights of this trip was all of the food trucks that were there. What can I say? I'm a foodie! While I didn't try any food during this trip, I did get a delicious strawberry lemonade. My lemonade was fresh squeezed right in front of me! I can't wait for my next visit to The Flea Off Market. I will definitely come hungry, and ready to buy from local vendors! read more

This is definitely the place to go if you are interested in handmade goods. That really isn't my personal style (I am more interested in vintage goods that you'd find at a flea market), but nonetheless, I really like to look at everything! They had a couple different food trucks set up, an outdoor bar, and a few booths that were selling sweets. I got a couple tacos from Fistful of Tacos, a "Bourbonade" from the bar, and some macarons from the Manic Macarons booth. Everything was so yummy! Plenty of quality wares of all types. Cool textiles from loom to Stetson hats to blown glass. So much to see. Something for everyone. Always love my trips to the flea of market! When the weather is great it's a packed house! Love all the vendors here. Have found some special pieces here, like my handmade leather bracelets, to my favorite yoga pants, bath salts/scrubs, pickles, and grass fed meats! Today's deal was my 502original shirts I found today! Also, there are lots of vintage clothing and good vendors. And the FOOD!! Food truck heaven here! Today I opted for Caribbean food. Jamaican Jerk Chicken with rice and plantains! Delish! Any type of food you want, it's here. This place is usually hopping around noon and it might be tough to find a place to sit and eat. Lots of entertainment here too! Music, DJS, dancers and more! Today the greenhouse was open, they offer annuals and starters for herbs and veggies! This is a great place to visit as a local or a tourist! Always something new! Stop by back area and steel city pops is there for a cold treat! You can use your punch card here too! read more

I had a lot of fun at this flea market and spent way too much money. I have no idea why I thought I needed any of the things I bought but I do, I needed every last one of them. I like supporting local anything: restaurants, shops, craftsman, and artists. I just don't have a lot of opportunities to do it. I was impressed by the fact that it was a small flea market (it was just the right size for my attention span and post brunch bladder) and while it was small it had a fairly comprehensive set of booths. There was a lot of cool stuff to see and more than one booth of, "what the funk?" I swear to God I saw Tina Fey and Amy Poehler dressed as Snow White and Queen Elsa (and there were no Bloody Marys at bruch, thank you very much). There was also a small fleet of food trucks and one dedicated to cocktails, which would have been fortuitous considering their absence from brunch (something I can't seem to let go of) but I had to (had to) go to Target afterwards and drinking and Target do not mix. We walked in declaring we weren't going to buy anything and we walked out with the feeling of smug superiority one gets when the support local businesses. read more

I love Flea Off Market. You never know what to expect. But you can always plan on something quirky and interesting happening at the Flea. I love to shop the various booths at each market and eat the delicious food from local food trucks. The cocktail bar is always a great stop too. I have mixed feelings about the flea. I love going to walk around, but I normally don't go with the intention of buying anything. In short, there's a sea of junk with a few jewels to be found. When you find those jewels, you'll know. Don't get me wrong.. I love that this is something that happens once a month to bring local food, art, junk, and various other things together. It's just not one of my favorite local shopping events. I normally go two to three times a year. Although I normally don't buy anything, I almost always order food from one of the many food trucks that setup here. I will say that chicken shit bingo is a huge draw (get a number and if the chicken decides to make it nasty, you win). They should do that more often. Sometimes music is playing or being played. It's not always good, but they're trying. There have been other times I've went and the booths are nearly gone. I remember going in 2015 and I swear there might've been 6 or 7 booths there. That was it! You can also order beer to walk around with. Free water is available. In the summer, there are times that the heat feels like it'll melt you. Sometimes in the fall months, the brisk air feels like it'll make you an icicle. Bring a jacket! read more

As others have mentioned, The Flea Off Market is a regularly reoccuring hipster flea market (usually in NuLu, sometimes in The Highlands, and maybe occasionally elsewhere?). During warmer months, it's usually the first weekend of the month in NuLu, but I don't really know, so check their Facebook page events. The best part of The Flea Off is the food. Food trucks and stands from so many cuisines! Do I want a snoball from SnoWhat? Should I get a pretzel cone from Louisville Cream? From which truck do I want tacos? Oooh, what about that gourmet hot dog? -- These are all things I've thought here. I've actually gone exclusively to get a snack and leave before. There is also booze, though I've never taken part in that while here. There's often live music and/or performances. (I stopped to watch break dancers.) It's always fun to see what's happening here. The vendors can be hit or miss. Sometimes I find something I want, but I often leave empty handed (with a full belly). Some is cutesy and up my alley; some of it is truly flea market stuff... and some is like... LulaRoe. It's a mix, but what flea market isn't? (My sister sometime sets up here as a vendor and sells a hodge podge of stuff--vintage clothes, jewelry she made, etc.) If nothing else, you can stroll around while snacking. All in all, I enjoy The Flea Off Market. I never stay for very long, but I have known some people to bring their dogs, friends, and whatnot; they make a day of it. I've never really wanted to do it, so I would suggest making it a pit stop on an adventurous day, opposed to your exclusive plan for a day. I truly think The Flea Off Market is an asset to Louisville (even if I leave empty handed). P.S. For cars, there is ample parking in the area; you just usually need to likely be willing to walk a few blocks. read more

Since moving to Louisville a few months ago my wife and I have been to the past three flea off markets and we make it a point to go every month. We go to flea markets often and the flea off market stands alone as a unique blend of local artists, food vendors, restaurant booths, mixed drinks and antiques. We have always had a good experience and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. The vendors always seem willing to answer questions and I've never had a huge problem with negotiating prices. We've gotten to know some of the vendors and we've noticed that they tend to have different things to sell every month. We haven't seen too much of the same items being sold every month and that's a good thing when frequenting a flea market that is only open once a month. Finally, not all vendors take credit cards so you might want to visit an ATM before you visit or you can use the ATM that is located on the premises. It's not easily marked but it has been located along the west side of the market, adjacent to the Grower's Supply store. read more

This was a really fun flea. We went pretty early in the day, but already they had several musicians, a belly dancer, and all sorts of food trucks ready and raring to go. The goods sold were pretty eclectic, from shoes to clothes to antiques to books... There was a wine-by-the-glass booth. It was a generally fun atmosphere with really friendly vendors. I started going to The Flea Off Market this summer and I haven't missed one since. Its a nice place to go when there's an afternoon when you want to take a stroll, have a few drinks, buy some trinkets and visit a few of your favorite food trucks. They'll occasionally have games and music and random dance offs. There's quite a few seats to be had if you grab a bite at one of the food trucks, there's always a booth where they sell cocktails for around 6.00 and there's plenty of things to see and crafts to buy. My favorite things are the soap/scrub/lotion vendors, the bone jewelry vendor, the sauces/jams/breads/pickles and the food trucks. There's a few things I don't like, for instance, I feel like some of the vendors are selling old junk (maybe they think its vintage?), and things that I believe that they bought on eBay or Amazon in bulk and are now selling it at exuberant prices. I wish that there were more vendors, there's tons of extra space. A few extra trashcans would be much appreciated! All in all: Definitely worth checking out and meeting local crafters and buying a few local products. I almost love it, just a few hiccups. read more

I love that this exists. It's my second time and it feels like it's growing. There are plenty of food trucks, everything from gourmet doughnuts and cupcakes, steel city pops to Turkish & Latino food. Something for everyone. The booths have a lot of homemade things. A lot of local Kentucky flavor. I bought some cool Churchill Downs prints. This is NOT a used junk place but more like a couple steps down from a St James combined with a flea market. The entire lot is full of young and old, families with children, singles, couples, lots of dogs and strollers and just about every other cool, quirky and interesting thing you could imagine. Since our move to NuLu just under 2 years ago we have seen the Flea grow dramatically. There are many more booths and a much wider variety of items to peruse. I really enjoy The Flea Off Market. I would give it a full five-star rating if not for a few small setbacks. It's really just minor stuff, like the fact that they don't have any umbrellas over the tables used to rest or eat; even though it's usually really sunny/hot on the days The Flea is held, and it's in the middle of a parking lot, so the sun is beating down on you. But, like I said, I do enjoy it and there's a lot of good stuff too. It's a fun way to spend time on nice weekend days during the spring, summer, and fall months. I love that Please & Thank You usually has a booth set up, and that there are always several food trucks there serving up delicious local food. The booths are usually pretty nice with lots of unique items to choose from. I prefer the jewelry, prints, and household items (like candles) that are typically offered for sale. My favorite part about The Flea, other than the food, is just meeting people from this city that I love so much. At the first Flea this year I had the opportunity to meet a local artist who is doing amazing things with local Louisville and Kentucky items. Now, I'm actually helping him gather items for use in some of his projects. It's the relationships you find there, like that one, that are really the best find at The Flea. read more

The Flea Off Market is so incredibly Highlands. So many unique people and things in one spot. My experience this past weekend would probably be 5 stars but considering all of the times I have been- it can be hit or miss so I am giving it 4 for now. With the weather being so perfect on Saturday and Sunday- the place was packed! Live music, food trucks, cocktails, loads of cool vendors selling everything from hats and jewelry to furniture and coasters. There is a little something for everyone- no matter what your taste or personality. I had a couple of delicious pink margarita drinks and a yummy veggie curry lunch from the food truck owned by Dragon King's Daughter.There was a variety of food, beer, tea, coffee etc to choose from. The best part- besides running into my friend Ashley and hanging all afternoon- was the adorable red wedge shoes I scored for $8. Love them! I also bought a cute nautical handbag for $4. It warms my heart to see local people making a little money while we all have a great time. The Flea Off Market is held the 2nd Saturday of each month and I can't wait to see what's in store for next month. read more

I enjoy going Sunday mornings. It has a good mix of trinkets, clothes, and food and drink. I bought an Aloe plant for $5 once, which was a great steal. Some vendors are a bit pricey though, but depends on what you're looking for. Oh and some vendors do accept credit cards, but have cash on hand. My favorite vendor is Art from Ashes, which is a local community member who creates art from old bourbon barrels. She will customize anything for you and have it ready at the next show. There are a few food trucks to try, and a booth offering alcoholic drinks and a picnic area to sit around in and hang out. Overall it's a neat scene to check out. Something unique to the NuLu area. Parking is free across the street in a small lot. read more

I love this outdoor flea market in the Nulu district. It's not your average flea market, more upscale and artsy. It's a "once-a-month bazaar" that recently opened in Louisville (2011?). It seems that more and more, we see more vendors selling new stuff rather than used items, but it's all good. I've made some really good purchases in the past. It seems almost like Etsy came to life. There are lots of jewelry vendors. My favorite part of the market is the gathering of food trucks and other food vendors. Holy Mole, Please and Thank you, etc.. There'll be live music and alcoholic drinks mixed right in front of you. It's a lovely way to spend your weekend morning out wandering, relaxing, purchasing, drinking, eating and of course support local businesses. read more

What a great flea market!! The booth fee is reasonable for local artists to Peddle their Wares! Such an eclectic mix of art, wearables and edibles. The topper is it's dog friendly. There are yummy cocktails beer and water!! This is one of my favorite free events in Louisville!! And there's always some type of entertainment!! read more
