I am a HARD critic & an extremely picky person. I can't speak for the entire shop as this was my first time at this nail shop. However, one thing I can assure you is that Helen did an outstanding job. She will be the only one I'll go to when I come here. 1. I didn't have to go back and reshape my nails myself. 2. The job wasn't rushed but she finished so fastttt! 3. She didn't cut me at all. (The marks you see on my hands was there previously). Overall, I loved my experience & was pleasantly surprised. I am obsessed with how neat & clean my nails look. As far as all the other reviews about their gel nails cracking, it's 100% probably because their nails are weak. As a person who knows how to do their own gel nails, you can't have a weak foundation & expect sturdy long lasting results. Maybe let your nails breathe, use a nail strengthening polish for some time and refrain from using the nail machine when getting them done. Ask for them to use a hand file instead. The only con I have: I was 10 mins late and she still had a client. However she was finishing up, so by the time I was done washing my hands and picking my color, her client had already gotten up from the chair. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I went to have gel tips removed for surgery i was having next day. Instead of using a Dremel, the lady used an emery board and kept going over my cuticles, then had me soak hands in alcohol! It was late and i needed them off which is why I didn't leave to go somewhere else. I kept flinching and even pulled away when she buffed thumbnail to the nail bed and told her to stop going over it. Another lady used a Dremel on only 2 fingers but then let the first one continue to massacre my hands. My thumb hurts just touching it to anything. read more

I do not live in Washingtonville, so I'll unfortunately not have the opportunity to return. But Awesome Nails saved my manicure on my wedding weekend and I am incredibly grateful! My usual manicurist did a rush job on my nails the Thursday before my wedding weekend, leaving me disappointed in the streaky, uneven paint job. Hating the way that they looked, I desperately asked around for manicurists up in Washingtonville. Awesome Nails squeezed me into their salon on short notice on what was a busy morning. The nail technician helped me select a color when I was being indecisive about what shade of peach would look best with my skin tone, and she made a great choice. So many of my guests complimented the color! She painted my nails expertly. What I appreciated most, though, was that after ten minutes under the nail dryer, she approached me to do a final inspection and ensure I was ready to leave. So many places just move on to the next client once you're over by the drying station. I was very grateful she took a moment to see me out! Prices are fair, parking is easy. Only been here once. The lady did my nails with a nice color and design but as far as the maintenance, the manicure itself...I felt it was very rushed. She was so busy trying to accommodate everyone else that was there or walking in and not focusing on my nails. Seems as if she was trying to rush the job to get to others. They are soo rude! This place has horrible customer service, and I will never return. I have visited this place multiple times and it's the same treatment every time. They are only nice to certain customers. I will literally drive twenty minutes away to get my nails done, then return and give them my money. Would give 0 stars if possible. I agree with Jessica C. Funny her review is not displayed. this place ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!! An associate of mine has been coming here for years her nails are always impeccable. I thought i would try them out. When I arrived there was someone getting a manicure during my scheduled time. Helen urged me to get a pedicure first. I told her I didn't want to because I wanted to determine which type of gel to get and match my colors. Helen said "oh no we match the color" and I won't be done for 20 minutes. So as I figured she had the girl rush my pedi. I chose the gel color while she worked, She picked the cheapest color to "match" the gel manicure color I chose and it did not match of course. It was about 5 shades off. Within 5 days both the pedi and mani were chipping and cracking. when my associate called me while I was there she could not believe I was done she said they take much longer when they do mine. Of course and that is why her's last. I guess they are not in the businees of treating new customers well. She also charged me $65 for both and that was higher than the price on the wall. Also when I called to make the appointment her husband was rude and didn't bother to take my name I had to call back twice to ensure they scheduled me which it turns out was a waste of time. I went to a place in Fishkill near my house and they did a horrible job, so I was thinking to my head I need to find another place, so I went on this website to find the most best reviews that did nails, I remembered driving to WASHINGTONVILLE on Friday night to go and pick up my daughter glasses off Main Street, as I was driving I noticed a nail salon across from the light, I said to my self the place looks small but let me tell u something that was the best decision I have ever did because I walked in this afternoon into this salon and I was treated and greeted with a pleasant lady who stated what did i need, I replied to her that I need my colors to be changed and file down she then preceded to say on your feet or hands I replied and said my hands she said not a problem take a seat and we will be with you shortly, I might have waited at least 5-10 minutes which that is not bad on a Saturday afternoon (Walk ins welcome), a guy was there and he was done with a customer and now it was my turn he asked me to sit down and he preceded to remove my color off my nails and stated who ever did your nails did not remove the UV gel completely off, he started to remove everything off he was so nice and gentle and pleasant to talk to. The best part of this pleasant experience was he had the most soft and gentle hands and top of all he was professional, I asked him for his business card and the back of the card he wrote down his name "DAVID"...what a cozy place this was I know for a fact I will be returning back but this time with my younger sister...thank you awesome nails because the name of the store really speaks for itself because of David my nails really look awesome....Thank You!!!!
